Why do vapers expect to be treated differently than smokers?

You're wrong about that. Our local hospital and college campus are both completely non-smoking. You're not even allowed to smoke in your car. You have to leave the premises...

Then you should leave the premises to vape.
The last time I went to a local hospital, they allowed smoking outside of the building in a designated area.

Do you really they'll allow you to walk down a hospital hallway and vape cause it's vapor?

When you can't even get the terminolgy correct "if you guys keep smoking", that speaks volumes.

Segregating smokers is predicated on the belief that second hand smoke is harmful. Since vaping has no harmful second hand smoke, it's illogical to lump the two together.

If we vape openly but respectfully it accomplishes two goals: it does not offend others by being discourtesy about their personal space and it educates the uninformed that vaping is NOT smoking and is not dangerous to those near by.

To act like vaping is the same as smoking is just supporting the extremists who want vaping banned and/or severely restricted.

How do you know that vaping has no long term affects? Cause it's vapor?

Look, we all have rights as human beings, but you guys trying to vape in areas you shouldn't "cause it doesn't harm anybody"
is not right.

again, my example... walk in to an elevator. ppl vaping in there. I didn't want to smell it. I'm sure non-smokers feel the same way.

I think that depends. A couple of years ago I was in hospital for a knee operation and they allowed me to vape on the ward. That's in the UK, though, and it may not happen everywhere. I was very grateful.

That's pretty cool of them to let you do that. I wish all hospitals were ok with this.

Nobody should disagree with the idea that you shouldn't vape where you shouldn't vape.
The question is what exactly is meant by places where you shouldn't vape?

You keep using the extreme example of an elevator, but yet you say we shouldn't vape ANYWHERE that THEY tell us we can't smoke.

Is there even a line you are willing to draw?
Or are you perfectly happy not vaping no matter where they tell you that you can't smoke?

there are designated spots where you can smoke/vape. Don't be a douche and impose on other ppl.

Sorry but you vapers that vape where you "know" your not supposed to, give us a bad rep.

wdawg88 That is such a naive and foolish view. Some of us work very hard not to impose on other people, including rebuilding for more throat hit than vapor production, holding our pulls untill the vapor dissipates, blowing downward under the tables at restaurants, using our small batt mods. And many of use when asked not to will acknowledge the rules of the venue, while also if they are open to it, providing them a short and light education, if they still refuse we put it away or leave. So don't say those who vape in public are giving a bad rep.

You for hiding what your doing and not educating people are giving it a bad rep.

First, your "example" is absurd. If someone was actually doing that, then they are the .00001% of idiots that can be found in any sub-group in the country. And you don't base a restriction on the few idiots spread out across the country.

Second, there have been several studies that show their is nothing in exhaled vapor at a level that would harm others. Noted experts in the fields of Public Health and Harm Reduction, such as Dr. Murry Laugesen, Dr. Michael Siegel, Dr. Elizabeth Whelen and Bill Godshaw to name several, all have weighted in on the safety of exhaled vapor.

One of the more recent studies was in the November issue of Inhalation Toxicology Journal where Dr Siegel stated on the studies results: "While secondhand smoke must be eliminated in workplaces and public places, the current data provide no justification for eliminating electronic cigarette use in these places.”- Dr. Michael Siegel of Boston University School of Public Health.

I will follow the lead of noted experts (and common sense) instead of some randon person on ECF who believes vaping and smoking are the same.

That's ok. I never told you to follow me. I also never said vaping is dangerous. You're upset, cause I have an opnion. You are entitled to that.

Just remember, some people don't want to smell your vaping habits. Go to a designated area please.
