For me, DIY is just plain empowering. No more worrying about my vendor being on vacation or my favorite flavors being temporarily out of stock - or even worse, discontinued. No more wondering if my "mom and pop" vendor enthusiastically scratched a persistent .... itch just before making my juice. No more worrying about what exactly is in the Chinese juices (this wouldn't be such a big worry if it weren't for their companies' willingness to put harmful substances in the baby formula for sale to their own people). Yes, it's empowering to know how my juice is made and that I will always have something in stock, even if it's just plain VG that I ran to the drugstore to get.

ps - just kidding about the .... scratch thing. Still you never know if a home based operation is properly sterilizing their kitchen before working and that scares me - especially if they have had raw chicken or something of that nature on the counters beforehand.

Anyways, those are my main reason for DIY'ing. What's yours?

If you want something done right, DIY. It's been written for ages. I like saving money too. Funny thing is that my base is NOT DIY. I buy a good tobacco flavor in 180ml bottles @ 32mg (extra flavor [it's goooood tobacco flavor]) and cut it down with VG, PGA and more flavors.

I DIY because I know what goes into my juice, I can tailor my flavours exactly as I want them, and cost. I can't understand why anyone would want to pay 900% more for something they can easily make themselves. It takes me around fifteen minutes once a week to make enough juice for my wife and me. DIY? I wouldn't have it any other way.

I like to DIY all sorts of stuff. I can't just knit; I have to try dying my own wool. I can just make pottery; I have to make my own glazes. So it goes to figure that I can't just vape; I have to make my own juice too. When I get out the soldering gun and start making pottery PV's with hand dyed knitted PV cozies I'll know I've gone too far.

Saving money.

Because I can...and since I'm a chemist, because I MUST!

Because its fun.

Because I get the juice I want NOW, not in several days.

Because then I know exactly what is in the juice...to an extrent...still learning a lot about the flavor compounds themselves.

Because I hate PG, and there are precious few 100% VG vendor juices out there.

Because I DIY a lot of things, and I like being self-sufficient.

Because I also have my favorite unflavored nic which gives me just the right amount of hit and nose tickle. I like my nic peppery and itchin' for a fight.

I mix my own juice for the same reason I do my own plumbing, electrical work, and cook. I can do it better and it's less expensive.

The only reason I ever give someone money for a service or product is if I cannot do it, like sew cloth, or if I do not have the tools, like removing a front hub on a 4x4.

Now, I do get lazy once in a while and go to a restaurant, or have someone change my oil, but id really rather do it myself. Just that kind of person.

Ever since I was a kid I was always mixing things together to see what sort of combinations resulted. I used to mix Kool Aid flavors (did you know that Black Cherry and Lime make a murky green 'swamp juice' that tastes pretty good?) and sauces for barbecue and sandwiches. In later years I was usually the bartender at parties. I blended my own tobacco for rollies.

So... I have to mix, it's in my soul. :)

OMG, same here. I am a spinner and knitter and I quickly started processing my own wool and dyes etc. As an artist, I love to mod things and to take it to a higher level.

There is nothing more fun than Frankensteining stuff... now that I'm a vape addict, I'm finding it so much fun. Besides, some juice just doesn't cut it for me and I tend to just start blending and trying out new things. My latest which turned out quite yummy was taking a mandarin orange and adding just a bit of blueberry to it. Man, it came out tasty!!! I'm also a gourmet cook, so mixing and blending and doing a bit of freestyle experimentation is second nature for me, not to mention fun.

Don't get me started on how much I want to get a spinning wheel and/or loom. LOL! I think my hobby is to start new hobbies.

I've got to get back to the pottery. I took a break since I was home all day with a 4 yo, but now that he's in half day kindy I have time to get back to it.

Because I can. I started out because I could not find a blueberry that actually tasted anything like the fruit. Now I've got a pretty good one. And I can increase or lower nic to suit whatever bug gets me going. Somedays I need higher nic than others. I've only come across one vendor that can get a flavor spot on better than DIY can. And its EXPENSIVE.
