Why does your Stardust make you cough when it is mounted on a wider battery than a thinner battery?

You are getting a burning conductor harsh. Some sort of hot spot on the conductor, perhaps having to do with a more restrictive airflow. Are you sure the Stardust is STILL working ok on the 510?

Another possibility is that Twist is putting out a higher voltage than what is being displayed. It might be telling you 3.7 and really be putting out 4.5 if it were somehow defective.

You're coughing because you are overheating the conductor.

Hi :)
2 diff setups. The ego twist with the stardust and the pen style 510 with the battery, atomizer and clear plastic cartridge. The 510 setup doesn't make me cough at all but the ego twist/stardust setup does. ?

What resistance is the stardust? If low resistance, you might want to consider standard.....less hot of a vape.

i.e. what is the ohm rating on the stardust? Or can you post a link or picture where you got it if you don't know.

Hmm, not sure to tell u the truth. I'm new to all this but it does seem hotter. That's why I turned down the voltage.

I bet you need to put it even low. Not knowing much. A regular ego actually runs a few numbers below the 7 of the 3.7 volt designation. And sometimes a resistance is lower in one clearo/carto/atty etc than another of the same brand but sounds like you are using the same stardust on both batteries. Set your twist at 3.2 or 3. Maybe your twist is slightly inaccurate. In other words it sounds like you are borderline burning your juice? Be sure to shake before loading so the nicotine gets mixed....but still. If the same juice is in the same stardust and it's the batteries that are making the difference.....fiddle fiddle tinker?

Maybe the ego twist allows you to gold the button down longer and does not shut off but the 510 does shut off in a hot atty situation.

If you are coughing, let the Stardust cool off awhile before hitting it again.

I would try vaping with something else besides the Stardust. It sounds like it's about time to replace it.

I haven't even used it one full day and I've had it over 1 week. Hopefully something better is available. Learning curve I guess lol

OK, so you never put the stardust on the mini and had it work? It's only used on the Twist?

The problem is not the Twist, it is the Stardust. I would get something else to use on the Twist.

Make sure your vent hole is not being blocked may want to put on an adapter. I use one because some of the attys do not leave enough room for air to pass. If you are using the same clearo on a diff battery then that is what I would bet. The voltage on low is at I believe 3.7 volts so unless it has a 1 ohm head it has to be poor venting.

When you draw on the stardust, is it harsh? It may be because the wick isnt properly absorbing the juice and youre getting dry hits. I suggest you look in to cartos and tanks systems. They pretty consistent in regards to vaping.

Yes, she is coughing, it is harsh, because of a lack of wicking she is burning the coil. You nailed it, this is what is going on. The coil becomes very hot and that is the source of almost ALL harshness. Foul taste is an issue where you have chemical reactions between juice and foam or juice and wick. Often you start out with dry hits, then at some point the high temperatures from the tortured coil introduce foam and silica into the liquid and contaminated. This is how dry hits lead to arcid tasting juice and why I hate carto's in general.

I think the Stardust uses an atomizer head with silica wick, unlike those awful carto's people are putting into tanks. So she is not wicking but she is also not spoiling the juice as bad. It is the reason for the success of some of these systems, they are not tank fed carto's- which are bottom of the barrel inmy world. She might be able to order more atty heads for it.

If you want to try Cartomizers- 2 ohm, 2 hole single coil cartomizer and a 3.5 ml tank is about as simple as it gets. Buy a skirt if you want the device to look finished. I'm not saying you can't get a good vape on something else but it's super simple and works excellent on a twist. This is just an example of what you'd need.
