At the moment, my go-to mech/gen combo is a P+18500 paired with a standard DID. Using a 3/2 wrap of 30awg around a 3mm hybrid wick (1.5mm silica and #400 mesh) gets me to around 0.9-1.0ohm. My more pocketable setup is a P+18350 with a Temon with the same coil setup. The Precise+ mech mods perform really well the the MMVAPORS gens. I've used a few other APV/RBA combos but these are still my favorites.

Now my question is... is it debateable which is the better vape with a Geni; 1. a VV, VW, or 2. ultra low resistance on a mechanical?
Given that you set each type up properly...
I use an AC9 on my DNA 20 mod, doesn't matter the ohms of my coil because the DNA can push what ever I need, 1.6 ohm coil at 4.8 volts...no problem.
It depends what you like and how much work you're willing to put into it.
With a mechanical, it's all about getting the right coil to work with your battery. Once you wrap a coil and get it set up on a mechanical, you're mostly stuck with it unless you start over. The upside to mechanicals is that wattage is less of a factor with no electronics to fry, so you can set up a low-resistance coil and really crank up the watts, generally higher than you could get on a VV/VW mod.
However, with VV and VW, you have some control. If your coil isn't exactly how you would like it, you can tweak the power going to it. You won't get the very high end of the wattage scale, but you can crank it up or down to make up for a suboptimal coil without having to rip it out and do it all over.
Personally, I keep both around. I've got juices that I just don't get a better vape from at high watts, so I tend to throw those in the Provari with the ZAP on it. That gives me the ability to adjust voltage for the individual juice -- something you can't do with a mechanical. To simulate that on a mechanical, I keep a few atty's around with different coil setups. Some juices work great in the Cobra with a sub 1 ohm resistance, some seem best in the ZAG with a 1.6 ohm coil, and others work great with a 2 ohm coil in the AGA-T (and then there are others I like in the non-Genny's like the iAtty and Penelope). That's something a bit easier to do with a VV/VW mod, with the main difference being that the Cobra, which vapes incredibly well with some juices, would blow those up.
Well my Stealth cap came today! Popped it on the GGTS and slapped the AGA T2 on it. Left the same twisted coil on it at 1.2 ohms. It is vaping better than on the Provari set at 3.8v It could just be the wick and coil breaking in, I'm on my first tank of juice with this setup. Need to get some bigger wire still to push thing harder. Anybody got a good one-stop-shop for 28g, 30g and 500 SS? My wife gets a little edgy when too many packages start showing up.
It's a v2. Might just be the difference of 3.8v versus a fresh batt.
A bit off topic but wondering if you've tried higher resistance coil with 28g and stacked batts in a mech mod? Other than stacking the batts is there any downside to this?
They don't have the 30g, I might get the other two from them though.
scott knows how to set-up a genny right. that looks like a neat little device
