I just wanted to say farewell to all my friends here because this is my last post here. I'm going back to traditional cigarettes. My beloved and only MOD I have the iStick 50W died on me only after 6 months it will no longer charge I used the correct charger (1 AMP). It seems that i cant keep a MOD more the 6 months and I take VERY good care of them. I'm very poor and for me to buy a cheap MOD is a very BIG DEAL. I need it to last at least a year I understand now that all MODS are essentially disposable They will eventually die. yes I save money on e-liquid but if I have to but a new $50-$80 device every 6 months it negates the savings on the liquid. I love vaping and had a deep passion for it but I just cant afford it right now I hope vaping continues on and continues saving peoples life. Love yall for all the help and goodbye.

reliable cost effective setup is my avatar
nemesis and 3d rda.
no 510 thread problems.
a $10 15watt kick takes care of short circuit protection, and battery low voltage.

$15.89 Nemesis Style Mechanical Mod - stainless steel / with telescopic 510 contact pin at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
$7.26 Variable Wattage Kick Module for Mechanical Mod / PV - range: 5-12 watts at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
$7.36 3D RDA Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer - for Nemesis Mods / w/ 510 adapter / w/o drip tip at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

and with a bolt, washers and wire you can rig up an adapter to fit like a battery and vape off an ac/dc adapter plugged into the wall instead of buying batteries

Don't give up so easily. Wait until Black Friday to snag a deal on a new mod and/or tank. Or check the classies here. Lots of good deals on gently used mods. Where there's a will, there's a way, and the benefits to your health from vaping over smoking will more than pay for new stuff.

Another option. Do you play any of the contest right here on the forum. When I was just starting out I played and won several of them and that helped me out. A big one for a very nice device just ended but from what I have read another one is going to start Monday and more of them are in the pipe line.

Keep an eye on this thread Contests for the active contests. Sending you good thoughts, hoping you will continue on your vaping journey.

I wouldn't look at it from a money stand point but rather a health point. I doubt I've saved any money switching to vaping but I haven't spent anymore really either, unless I just wanted something. If you're tight on money, go back to a cheap ego style ( if not sure on a mech.) then save up to buy a solid vw device. If 30 watts will work, vaposhark did have the 30w version for 60 bucks. They offer an ugrade if you ever choose to and have a good warranty. It uses an authentic dna 30 board and is in the US out of Florida.

ALL rechargeable batteries have a a service life, generally measured in recharge cycles. When that life runs out, you replace the battery.

With a built in battery, that also means replace the mod.

With user replaceable batteries, you just get another battery and carry on. No need to buy a new mod. I have several 3 year old replaceable battery regulated mods still in regular use, and none of them are "top of the line."

While the initial cost is higher - you need to get a charger as well as a couple of batteries, plus the mod - you won't be needing to get a new mod when the batteries wear out.

Cigarettes must be cheap there. Around here the cost of a weeks cigarettes would easily pay for a new device.

No kidding! A pk a day for me was $176/mo... heck I could buy THREE OR FOUR mods for that!

I'm just trying to figure out in what universe is smoking cheaper than vaping, because it's certainly not, on this planet. Sure.. a pk of smokes is $5-$6... day after day after day after day after day..... etc to infinity...

Like I said... for the $176/mo that smoking costs round here, I could buy 3 or 4 mods. Every 6 months? That's about $1000 saved; I could buy ONE HELL of a lot of mods with $1000!!!

Another way to save on what you are budgeting for e-liquids. You could get some unflavored nic and mix it with your store bought. I have found that store bought is way over flavored anyway so back when I was still buying it I would mix it at least half and half with unflavored.

You can pick up 500mls of 24mg at UnFlavored Nicotine E-Liquid Base 24mg may be to high so you would also need some vg and/or pg to cut it down.

Where there is a will there is a way and we are here to help.

edited to add: that 500 mls of 24mg unflavored only costs about 20 bucks.

Or he could REALLY save and just make his own. My very-highly-flavored strawberry & cream is better than any other juice I've EVER tasted... it costs about .09 per ml to make.

I agree. I also make all of my e-liquid but not everyone one wants to jump into the whole DIY process. At this point I am just throwing out ideas that will help someone that is considering going back to smoking due to low funds.

Going back to smoking because of low funds is exactly like turning the furnace on because you're too hot.

Provape is selling their Provari 2.5 regulated mods for under $100 here. These have proven to be extremely durable mods Why Provari? The vast majority of Provari's made in the last five years are still being used to this day. And should one break, they can be repaired by provape for a very reasonable cost after their one year warranty is completed.

I can't believe that going back to smoking is even an option for you if your only consideration is cost. Believe me, I understand about not having money to buy a new mod every few months. I've been unemployed and dead broke for over a year. I'm so lucky to have purchased a Provari years ago which I know I can count on. My only costs over the last year have been for replacement e-liquids. (I make my own wick & coils).

Do your research well. Some mods last much longer than others.

Learn to cut your costs when vaping. Learn to make your own coils/wicks. Cotton and kanthal wire for rebuildable atomizers are dirt cheap. A cheap RBA tank can be as inexpensive as an expensive clearomizer and will reward you with years of service.

Again, do some research and ask for recommendations here on ECF.

Cigarettes were much cheaper for me than vaping has become for me. I come from buying RYO tobacco with an electronic rolling machine which allowed me to make a pack in about two minutes. I could roll about seven cartons for under $20.

I disagree with a lot of what's been said here. Not exactly disagree, but think that the other side is not being acknowledged.

Vaping can have a steep cost of entry. Certainly doesn't have to, but can. A new primary device every few months is bad enough, but when you add to it coil heads, or cartos, etc, and then liquid, it all adds up.

Sure, a savvy shopper can get good prices on all of the above, and an educated self coil building vaper can shave a huge percentage of cost there too.

However, for the average consumer, who wants to go to the store and buy their supplies, just like they used to go to the store to buy a pack, look at what they could end up spending:

$60 for a new device twice a year
$15 for a 5 pack of coil heads that lasts one month
$20 (or more) for 'premium' e liquid at B&M prices for 30 ml, lasts about a week.

That adds up to $1,340 per year, with parts of that cost coming with price tags that are steep compared to one pack of
Stinkies.

It doesn't HAVE to be this way, but this is the retail experience of a large number of people who may want to try vaping.

To the OP, please understand that this can be solved with some education and strategizing. Depending on your level of commitment to it, you can vape radically cheaper than smoke. Pennies on the dollar cheaper. However, even so, there is still a bit of barrier to entry.

A new mechanical can be had for pretty cheap, but you will need some batteries to feed it, and a charger for those. You will need a rebuildable atomizer of some sort, along with wire, and wicking material. For liquid, DIY can come with a bit of an up front cost, but is also super cheap over time. I spent about a hundred bucks on supplies to make just over a gallon and a half of juice.

Thanks everyone for all the replies! I'm on disability so i only get paid once a month I live on $691 a month and I budget $100 toward vaping so If i buy a$50 to $80 device that leaves me way short on liquid for the month. I don't want to support big tobacco but it looks like that have me by the balls. Love yall thanks for the reponses
If your liquid is costing you $100 a month, you're buying some very expensive liquid.
I stock up once every 2 or 3 months and spend $40 or $50 max.

Get a mod with interchangeable batteries like the Kanger Subox or the IPV D2. When the batteries stop holding a charge, you can replace those a lot cheaper than the mod.

Believe me, there are much cheaper ways of doing this than what smoking will cost you both in your pocket and your health.
