Why is a Provari P3 even a viable choice.

Oh boy you provari users are so touchy.
Not underpowered for you, but underpowered for me and many others.

Not touchy. It is just a fact. More people vape under ten watts than vape over. I would venture to guess that even people who buy 30+ watts mods don't get close to using all of the wattage.

FTR, I think you are trolling, so that is all I am gonna say here.

The OP referenced a DNA 50 watt mod. Just to clarify that, I think he was making reference to a Chinese knockoff.

The Provari statement is a lot like saying that since my Camaro runs the quarter mile in 10 seconds, there should absolutely be no luxury cars on the road, because anyone with any money at all would want a 10 second Camaro with open headers, minimal interior with A/C and Radio delete from the factory, subframe connectors and chassis stiffening all around, and a cam lope that makes women sound like gravelly male robots when they talk (wow thats sexy by the way just an FYI)

When you own a Provari, you'll understand. It's kind of like a Rolex that doesn't have a remote control built in. For a lot of kids, they would rather have a remote control that sends text messages. For those who understand engineering, craftsmanship and build quality, if they've ever taken apart a Rolex or rebuild it, they will totally understand why someone would spend that much on a portable clock. Now imagine the Rolex is the same price as a fossil. What kind of idiot would buy one when it doesn't send text messages.

It doesn't make sense to everyone but that's ok, it's only the owners that matter IMO, and the marketing demographic they target. Personally, I would be WAY more proud of a Provari than I would a Chinese clone full of hot glue inside with undersized wires soldered in a non clean room that does 50 watts. But I do get that not everyone thinks the same way I do. Some people just weren't raised up like I was or born with the same genes that make me want to fix anything other than perfect, which is basically everything but myself.

I don't have a Provari and I have a 60, 100, and 120 watt mod with a 150 on the way, many will assume that I'm from the Provari crowd and jealous because I haz no watts. I got watts like Michael from swisha house in an L.A. riot, but I also understand the build quality and engineering and fine craftsmanship that goes into a Provari. And I realize that those who don't see the value in that, will never understand it. Many wont understand why I spend years designing audio systems for the quality it provides, when I could build a system that is louder in an afternoon. Or why I think the tire quality is more important than the rim its attached to.

See, now. I love what you said there. But no one on this forum knows me or any other Provari owner. I can tell you I am not a snob but chances are because I own provaris, I am automatically a snob to people who think with this illogic..

I know that YOU are not saying this at all. I do scratch my head though at the assumption and it is rampant.

It would be like saying because you buy Tide detergent and not the dollar store brand, that makes you an uppity biznotch...I will never understand that. BTW was looking at genuine mechs today...Every single one cost more than my Provari but lord weren't they gorgeous!

(Rhetorical Question and not aimed at you) If I buy one of those gorgeous Mechs am i a snob for that too?

Now you're being an authentic snob Bassnorma! And no don't you go running to the clone snob crowd now that I've called you out!

I think I might have edited my snob comment while you replied to my message or just around the same time, if so I'm sorry as I'm not usually one to modify what's been quoted. So I'm sorry if I was a not-being-snob snob.

OR you could just buy 100 pre-punched cartos at the same resistance from a reliable supplier and never have to worry about it.

I have a variable wattage device.

Its called my finger and I use it to put items in my shopping cart.

No pre-made coils will all come at the exact listed resistance..... Another reason I rebuild them myself..... They are VERY often +/- .2 ohm. My point was if you are so set on a specific number, I.e. "I always vape at (any number) volts..... Then wattage is a better option for you. If you don't know that your cartos resistance varies, you either never check your resistances which is foolish, or you do and are just trying to be argumentative...... Either way, good luck with that.

LMAO!!! I love you for this...Thanks for making me laugh! :D

I often edit my posts because I am fluent in typonese and swyponese. It is as though I lack opposable thumbs. Perhaps, I should have paid more attention in typing class...Lord help me while scripting...thank God for good VBS editors or I would have broken the interwebz by now!!! LOL

if you read the original post. i stated DNA *OR* 50w+ device. Yes the provari is a very well made device and i realise how reliable they were. i used to have a v2 but it just became obsolete in terms of power after all these higher powered mods started hitting the market so i got rid of it. the whole point of this thread was to express my disappointment towards the new p3 and how it hasnt really changed much from the v2 and its ridiculous price. just saying that you can get VW devices that have the same build quality, push more power, and generally better devices than the provaris for alot cheaper (Hana's, Sigelli's, iPV's). provaris are really only known for there name, build quality, reliability, ect. im more interested in devices with new innovative features not provaris that basically stay the same version after version..

one, two, three, four...LET'S START A FLAME WAR!!!

Seriously though, I personally wouldn't want a Provari, simply because I'm cheap and I can build a better VV/VW mod with less than $50 worth of parts. My go-to build these days is a 0.3Ω dripper build, so if it can't sub-ohm I'm not interested. But hey, that's me, and I don't mind carrying around a big ugly hammond project box with a couple of 18650's in it and a fat ... dripper on the top. A Provari just doesn't do the job I need it to.

However, take my sister. She is the opposite of a hippy. She likes nice clothes, nice things, and has no interest in carrying around a big ugly box. She thinks mech mods are big and ugly. She has no interest in fiddling with things or sub-ohming. She was hooked on egos and protanks until she tried my kayfun. She likes it, but hates my big ugly mods. Then I showed her the Provari.

Now she rocks the Provari and a kayfun all day long. It's the perfect device for her. It's sleek, elegant, durable, simple, and does precisely the job she wants. She doesn't care about the cost, and doesn't care that it only does 15w.

I don't know if she'll get a P3, but I just wanted to add to this conversation that I'm a 50w sub-ohm dripper kind-of-guy, and it isn't a stretch AT ALL for me to see why someone would want a Provari.
so all in all your saying that provaris are for girls or men that enjoy elegant and simple mods that still havnt picked up the courage to vape decent mods. inb4 .... storm of provari user butthurt

Not exactly.

I like my Hana a lot. It's neither better (I don't even consider it as good as...), nor was it cheaper, than any of my Provaris.

wow...why did I even bother touching this thread...

but yah, I suppose that's exactly what I'm saying. If you want a nice elegant 15w mod for your kayfuns and don't mind paying for the quality, then the Provari is for you. If you want more watts or have a grasp of electronics and don't want to pay for elegance over function, then Provari isn't.

Why does this topic keep coming up anyway? WHO CARES??!!

If you like Provari, go get one. If you like cheap clones, good for you. You like your itaste? great! You'd rather make your own? Good for you! Maybe you're a Reonaut...that's awesome.

[MODERATED].

I'm out.

Cheaper meaning the clone. DP, they have no idea of the cost for a real Hana. Hence the reason Provari is over priced. The silly Hana clones even put a random serial number on them. Tin can alley.

I've never claimed Evolv was doing Provape's electronics or firmware for them.

Whether I think of it as such or not is irrelevant. The fact is that Evolv has been issued a US Patent for VW used in PVs. Since Provape is a US company and wanted to sell a PV using VW, they only had two choices: License the technology from Evolv, or wait for the Evolv's lawyers to file an infringement suit and challenge the validity of the patent in court. I'm speculating that they chose the former.

If there is a patent, I don't think it will hold up in court unless a manufacturer tries to copy Evolv's exact circuit.

You can't patent an idea, you can only patent your version of it.
