Why is a Provari P3 even a viable choice.

It really all boils down to this.... vape what you like, let others vape what they like. If someone posts a negative opinion to your favored device, that's their opinion. If you just ignored it, everyone would be happier (yourself included) in the long run.

Sent with one hand, the other is busy vaping.

Ironically, if people did follow the part in bold, there wouldn't be entire threads started with the clear intent to bash other people's choice in PV, and so there would be no need to ignore stupid threads.

Sorry didn't know you were a patent attorney or Philadelphia lawyer. I guess we won't be seeing the P3.
You don't need to be a patent attorney or a Philadelphia lawyer, just literate.

Have you ever met Phil?

I hang out with him every year at Vapercon in Richmond Va and you know what he's always using?

A Provari.

Last year was the first time I had ever seen him in person with something else in his hand.....and thats because he was doing a review and figured Vapercon was the best place to test the new device out.
:?: What does that have to do with anything?

If there is a patent, I don't think it will hold up in court unless a manufacturer tries to copy Evolv's exact circuit.
If there is a patent? It's already been granted.

You can't patent an idea, you can only patent your version of it.

They didn't patent an idea.

I am with you. I have a Provari and I built an SX-350 box and like them both. I mess with coils and brew my own juice. My daughter has two Ego's, buys new coils and uses HHV Heavenly Tobacco. We are both pleased, neither of use has smoked for a long time and both are happy going our own way.

HHV is the only juice I use at the moment. If she hasn't been to the supplier forum she should stop by and say Hi.

You should read the patent. It's very clear, and lists every conceivable method of controlling wattage output. Just because provape's circuitry is laid out different, they are still using a method within the already granted to Evolv patent.

If Evolv hold such an Iron Clad Patent, why are there so Many "Clones" flooding into the Market?

The patent was just granted September 2 of this year. The clone chips have been out for many months.

Next years most popular thread title will be..... Provape, Innokin, or Evolv DNA(?) mod. Which one should I buy?

Yup, I see there being three options by the end of next year. Provape, Innokin, or an Evolv chip mod. Innokin obviously understands what this patent means, seriously a Chinese company is licensing Evolv technology! I think there will be some serious cease and desist letters, and customs seizures in the coming year. No more Fasttech or etc for variable wattage mods. This may also be why Evolv has been slow releasing their upcoming board. They may want to shutdown the clones, before it is worth their while to clone their upcoming chip set. I just pray they do not sell out to BT.

It doesn't make a difference. PRC companies only look at patents when they steal someone else's work, because the information in the schematics helps them reverse engineer the product they are copying...

That's Kinda how the Game is Played.

CBP is going to inspect mail from China looking for unlicensed chips in mods?

Possibly, depending on how it is approached. This patent was granted to cover ALL VW devices. Not sure how it will stand up to a thorough review, but that takes money on the challanger's part. The bigger win is the fact that any Vape shop can and most likely will receive notices of patent infringement of all non-evolv approved VW devices. Effectively shutting down the clone market for regulated devices. This is a BIG small business. Evolv has assured their will be an affordable product by partnering up with Innokin. Vape shops will probably comply because it means they will only have to carry a few product lines (cheaper), and avoids lawsuits that they most likely will lose.

By the way this can also be used to defend trademarks, but that costs more money, and is easier to evade. All the producer has to do is remove the offending mark, and then refer to it as a 1:1 clone (Whatever) style.

Overall, it depends on how big, and determined the major 3 companies will be in locking down the market in the future. Innokin, may have legal rights in China by licensing this technology to produce.

So where are the Provari clones?

The P3 will do just fine it is marketed to ex-smokers that want a reliable quality vape.

It is hard to counterfeit reliability, customer service, durability and quality. The clone kids also think it is outdated and doesn't have enough power. ProVari are 'clone' proof...
