By any chance are you a vendor yourself???? Although nicely written it seems as if you are only imploring his business side and how small businesses would be affected, what if he states that a business which is damaging the society is not his problem? IMO if you are a e-cig user you should have given more stress on yours and people you know testimonies and how e-cig is not dangerous at all.
Good question. No I am in no way affiliated with any vape shop. We have all sent letters to attest the validity of the product and the success we have all had. I have read so so many, the stories are all starting to sound the same to me. I am not suggesting anyone stop sending them.

My take on the hearing is Senator Burr for one reason or another ALREADY supports Harm Reduction. So yes....instead of sending a personal story, I wanted to give a different take on things. I wanted to point out, the Harm Reduction message, is being spread by 15000 small businesses. E-cigs are a product of one persons idea (kind of), who saw his father die of cancer, not a corporation. I wanted to send a message that e-cigs are bigger than just my personal use. Families are eating and paying their bills, because of a small business dream that came true, when they entered this industry, while they were doing something GOOD at the same time.

I befriended someone who opened a vape shop recently. He is a Veteran, a Marine. He came back from Iraq and decided to open a vape shop, with his life savings, after fighting a war for his country. Now his country, is doing him and his family a dis-service, as far as i'm concerned. The climate of this industry, both on the federal and state level, is hostile and effects REAL people, not corporations, and quite frankly it sickens me!!

I hope I make sense!

Just so everyong doesn't think no politician ever reads our emails....
(this is from a local NJ assemblyman re: the New Jersey CTA)

I'm not supporting any new taxes. Additionally I'm for 1% budget cut for the next 6 years.
All the best

Jokingly: I knew it! It was all a giant conspiracy from the start! The Provarinati is the new world order! And Senator Burr is part of it! You bastages!

All Jokes Aside: Maybe he sees where technology has taken us as Americans - and better yet - as people. A wise man once stated that we as humans have progressed so rapidly into technology that it is now irreversible. We cannot go backwards due to the innovations made through and with technology. It's impossible. But yes, why he's on the side of the vapers is beyond me. Now I did in fact watch that whole C-SPAN bull...., and let me remind you, what was the purpose of regulating e-cigarettes again? Because the "flavors appeal to kids"? Are you ....ing kidding me (excuse my French)?! That's all he had against the e-cigarette industry?! Pffft! That guy was a joke, a pure joke. And for him to be in any form of power or government is disgusting! What, us adults can't relive our past childhood by vaping (rather than eating) something that reminds us of a once good time (before the age started to mess with our metabolism)? I vape around my kids all the time, they know NEVER to touch my stuff, even though I keep it out of reach AND locked in a safe. I also make sure my kids aren't carousing the web for some of dad's "Magical Smoke". Here comes the harsh part - instead of blaming the e-cigarette industry, why don't we blame the parents for not conducting themselves accordingly by monitoring their kids' activities online? Enough of my rant - I'm furious. I need to drip a 48mg e-liquid to calm my nerves after that nonsense I listened to.

I also emailed Senator Burr and thanked him for being open minded about harm reduction and innovation of products that reduce combustible tobacco use. I also mentioned my feelings about the proposed tax by our local legislators. Maybe, just maybe, he will call and offer them some guidance.

The North Carolina House Speaker Tom Tillis is running against Kay Hagan for senate. Tom Tillis, if he so desired could remove the proposed tax on e-liquid from the Bill HB 1050 before the vote next Tuesday. I guess we'll see.

I've written Kay Hagan three times on different issues and all I got in replies was the same ole' canned ham "For The Children" response. I hope to send her a Pack-and-Move notice when she loses the election. I'm gonna make sure to say that it's "For The Children". The followers have got to go!

I used to (gasp) lobby for a living and had some dealings with then-Rep Burr. When I first met him in about 1995, he was a young congressman driving a VW "Thing" with a "Wild Thing" personalized license plate (NC residents... ask him about it!). He loved attending our "fundraisers". Party animal, back in the day. Livin' large.

This has nothing to do with the issue at hand. Just consider it "context."

2coils...I think your letter to Sen. Burr was thoughtful, well written, and spot on? Do you have any objections of others tweaking and sending it to others?

I appreciate the kind words! Thank You. Anyone can use the info that I have posted, though, I will ALWAYS defer to CASAA and Bill G, for subject matter, in regard to any pending e-cig legislation.

Some of us are better at wise-cracks, humor, weird analogies, and sarcasm....we meed people that can write serious prose that the powers that be might read and understand.... :p

Part of reason Senator Burr was tobacco friendly is stated below.
The top five companies in terms of employment in NC are: Lorillard, Inc. Alliance One International Reynolds American Inc. Liggett Vector Brands LLC Imperial Tobacco PLC
His job is to represent the state to congress and fight for legislation that benefits wages and benefits and taxes to NC. I think that in doing that he also realizes that combustible tobacco is a slowly dying method of satisfying the nicotine habit. Most and eventually all tobacco manufactures are transitioning to ecigs as a continuing product line and revenue stream. I thought it interesting that both the spokesmen for the FDA and the CDC agreed and emphasized that they were campaigning against combustible tobacco (without celebrating ecigs). The handwriting is on the wall. As far as fruit and candy flavors go, it's the truth that kids who ILLEGALLY obtain ecigs will probably want those flavors. The tough part is that they CAN'T buy ecigs if they are under 18 years of age. Cherry vodka and fruit flavored wines were popular when I was growing up. Yes, there will be people who sell ecigs to minors, but I expect serious enforcement of provable underage sales. In the local B&M in my town, there is a sign on the door that says, "You must be 18 to enter". As you leave there's a sign that says, "Please check to make sure we returned your ID". I"m old enough and bald enough that they have never asked me to produce an ID. :)
