I call it an E-Cigarette, because that is what it is and why I use it. I also SMOKE it even though there is no SMOKING involved. In my world a vaporizer is something you use when you want to increase humidity or a device used for drug related purposes. But I do get the consternation on how we use the term.. After all, I will correct people that call my JEEP a car.

LOL! That depends on how old that vehicle is. If it's an old 1941-1987 (some say 1979)
it's a Jeep...thereafter it's a car.Willys, Kaiser, even AMC until they farmed it over to Fiat
made battle worthy vehicles but then...
Of course, that's just my opinion...LOL! In the same manner that it's my opinion that it doesn't really matter what folks call my electronic nicotine dispenser as long as they don't try to take it from me.

Regards,
Hazy

I am the OP and am certainly not on any crusade either way. I was simply looking for a well worded reason for the continuance of using the term other then, it just stuck. I really did not intend to start any controversy or arguments on whether the use of the term is good or bad for vaping, although not opposed to having the discussions as long as it is civil. My actual opinion on the term is that it is what it is. I think it helps in that it is a bridge for smokers to make that relationship and possibly get them off smokes and I also agree that sometimes it can hurt by continuing to associate vaping with cigarettes. In the long run, I feel as time passes the term e-cig may phase out as more become aware of what it is but if it doesn't I am not bothered by that. I am only responding to let you know that this whole thread was not a crusade of any sort. :D

Thanks for your response ;)

I agree with you, I think over time the term will more than likely change....especially since form factor of the e-cigs grow more distant from looking like cigarettes every day.
