i'm working at the computer for long periods or watching tv i will switch to a lower nic level so i can chain vape and not get over nic-ed.

this^^

as well as with rebuildables, the more efficent systems sem to make "standard range" a little overpowering. in my one atty i cannot use too high a nic without getting a headache but the flavor is so awesome i want to chain vape it so i use lower nic.

Lets not kid ourselves, nicotine is a toxic substance that increases blood pressure. The less nic the better. Caffeine isn't good either.

Have a vaper friend who is battling Raynauds, so higher nic is definitely not good for them, and they are trying to reduce their nic mg.

There are, as you say, many health conditions where nicotine isn't good.

There are a few health conditions for which nicotine IS good though, certain digestive diseases, for instance.

This is why it's an individual thing. There should never be blanket statements made about the effect of any substance on any individual.

If I follow your logic:

Cigarette smoke is good for colon ulcers, so saying that cigarettes are bad is just a blanket statement?

To get back on topic and stop the measuring of dicks before it gets started. I started using a dripper and the 18mg or 24 mg is just too high. I have to make a point of putting it down. I also want to eventually not use nicotine.

Not wanting to start a fight but the OP mentioned that nicotine was harmless.... We are on topic here.

We must not be talking the same thing, Steam?

Cigarette smoke and nicotine are not the same things to me. :)

I don't really know of anything that cigarette smoke is "good" for.

There are, however, several conditions that nicotine seems to help, like UC.

Here are a few examples.

The reasons are unknown... Might be nicotine might not.

And BTW I don't think that we are measuring . We both know we are the same size.

I had to lower my nic level as my gear got better and my builds improved and started vaping at high watts. The nic delivery was just to much all of a sudden, and it would take me up to an hour to come down after a vape break. So I've dropped from 24mg to 12mg of nic.

Nicotine intake is a matter of personal choice. Just like consumption of alcohol is. I choose not to drink alcohol but I don't have any plans on quitting my nic intake, may adjust it as needed, but just purchased an 18 month supply of nicotine base so that I won't run out for awhile. I don't smoke I vape, and that is all that is important to me right now.

Have no idea what you are talking about measuring. Guess that is some kind of guy talk?

I'm not a guy, so I guess I can't relate to that conversation....although adding stuff about "measuring" to your post does makes it appear that you are trying to have some kind of pi$$ing match -----sorry, but that is a little too macho for me and not something to which I can relate.

I'm a vaper, not a smoker, so if there are any curative benefits that come with smoking, I guess I won't be discovering them. :vapor: I've gone from 24mg down to 6mg, and I sure am happy about it.

I will use different nic levels based on what i am doing and how much time i have to vape. On a quick break i will vape at a higher nic for maybe 7-10 puffs. i'm working at the computer for long periods or watching tv i will switch to a lower nic level so i can chain vape and not get over nic-ed.

These two posts right here.

Another thing to take into consideration is that nicotine is a stimulant. You might not feel it in tobacco form because of all the other chemicals that you are taking in, but when vaping it's really easy to feel. I know that if I chain vape for maybe an hour my heart starts racing. That's why I vape 12mg now instead of 18mg. And I plan on dropping to 6mg after the New Year.

That and eventually I want to be rid of that particular shackle. Even at 0mg I'll still vape. I love it. The flavors, the sensations, the act of it. It's great. And it's fun! Plus I really enjoy the hobby aspect of it.

So if I can still do all that without worrying about the addiction of it, then color me tickled.

Isnt nic pretty much harmless? I considered lowering it until I read up on the long term effect of nicotine, which are pretty much as harmless as caffeine. Could someone have some type or rare negative reaction to nic?

Wikipedia's got a comprehensive article about nicotine. Also feel free to google for the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet ). Harmless or harmful is always a matter of the dose.

In medieval times it was fairly common for rulers to take very small doses of known poisons on a regular base to increase tolerance levels in their bodies, as a precaution against any attempts to remove them from office and power by means of spiked drinks or food.

Whether to raise, lower or stick with present levels is your choice alone. That's the advantage of vaping: way more individual freedom of choice in nic levels and flavour than you could ever have with analogs.

Allergic reactions are possible to anything - as a CEO of a big chemicals comany once put it :

Only the quantity zero has the effect zero.

Nicotine is one of THE most powerful poisons known to man and also one of THE most addictive to boot. It makes sense to cut down if you can.
New vapers can find it worrying that they are constantly overdosing on nicotine due to the way they have made the transition from smoking to vaping.
Please do not worry about this issue as this is a completely normal worry that most of us have felt from the beginning of the transition.
I can assure though that you will not overdose on nicotine by vaping and if you did your body will definitely tell you when you are becoming nic.sick

There are many valid reasons someone might choose to reduce nicotine.

-to reduce dependence on nicotine
-their tolerance for nicotine has decreased
-better gear delivers nicotine more efficiently
-to save money or stretch supplies (DIY)
-fear a ban
-legitimate medical reasons
-just want to see if they can

I'm sure there are more reasons.
