Why would you ever want to try a dripper since you could just vape in a tank ? I truly cannot understand the reasoning behind this...

depends,me personally I only do drippers,
not for cloud chasing

but for calculable juice usage,
10-15 drops, and its more or less I sign for me to stop...

plus the falvors on drippers are a bit more ,compared to tanks I think

sorry did nt notice that, just started back reading just tried to answer OP's question right away...
Yes I figured that. @DanJiblets there are many drippers you could try,but to get the best of them you must run them much higher than 16.5 watts. I think that answers your thread's question as for why would anyone want to vape at higher than 16.5 watts.

I understand to each his own but really I don't buy into all the high wattage subohm stuff. I tend to stick around 15 to 25 watts single coil builds. I believe its all a waste of juice IMO. I can get a pretty damn good Vape from my current level with great vaper production with out all the high wattage and wasted juice. And man the flavor is POW!

I am happy vaping at 20-25 watts too on a subtank,I don't want to go higher at this point. And I don't drip either. But making it sound like there is nothing happening at higher watts, the vape is the same and everybody who does it is fooling himself,is just wrong. That's the feeling i got from this thread,I might be wrong.

I don't vape high wattage because I need clouds(Although sometimes they're fun) I actually feel a tangible difference with the thick creamy vapour and flavour of a high watt dripper. I'm sure I could get by at 20 watts but I'd be way closer to tipping back to cigs, I'd need to up my nic significantly to compensate, but at 50+ watts it's a more satisfying vaping experience to me.

Do what works for you, I'll continue alternating between flavour and cloud chasing, I won't judge the way you vape but please don't assume my way is unnecessary when it's what works for me.

Also the reason we recommend a 50w device to newbies is because they have versatility, sure 10-15 watts will work great on your starter atty but if you do want to pick up a dripper or an RTA you can and don't have to upgrade your mod right away.

I started with a SiD and got an MVP2 as a back-up. The Sid died after 4 months and I got another MVP2. I have others and my IPV2 50w is my hottest. I tried power with it and it was not noticeable other than a warmer taste. I have a couple of others, but my MVP3 is my go to PV. The MVP2, my wife still uses. They are durable and the battery still does fine for all-day Tootle Puffing. I do like my rDNA for it being smaller. Sad to say, my iStick got thrown in the trash because it was just made cheap, in comparison. I read and notice what mods seem to have trouble and, what is best for me. I wish more mods had colorful sleeves, but, to each their own.

I used to put a lot of money, more than I did cigs, into mods and toppers but I have slowed. I have done a lot of PIFing. I have a couple of RDAs, but my Lemos are simple and give satisfaction.

I am very happy under 30 watts.

Yo don't need anything. You may want something and possibly buy it or not. I am perfectly happy with my volts, spinners, and mvp2. I personally like charging in the device. The last device I bought was the MVP2 in January of '14 then this month I purchased a smok50 just because I can use a replacement battery. I have a couple nemi clones laying around just because I like to have a mechanical backup in case the electronics fail.

My little volts I use while I am out in the yard or messing around with the pool because I can hold them in my mouth like a smoke. Well not as easily, but can do it for a period of time.

Because drippers are much easier for the testing of new juices...?

I use my magma at 10w, 1.3Ω coil -- not much different from my kayfun. There is NO one single way to do any of this. One does not have to make weather to enjoy a dripper.

i want more power bc..

as new mods come out.. they are able to use it in a way that i enjoy.. ie lots of airflow and vapor production.. i personally love large hits of vapor.. its what works for me. it keeps me happy and has me to where i dont think id ever want to smoke ever again. but then again at one point.. a protank 2 was AMAZING and i was in love with it... as time goes i learn what works for me.

id rather have the power and not need it.. and get great batt. life.. or not have to get another more powerful mod when i realize i need it. im about to buy a siglei 150.. i plan for it to be the last mod i buy for a while.. i dont think i need 150 watts at all.. but.. ya never know.. and i know ill be using more than 50 watts.. so might as well..

Yes you can run them at 6-360 watts. I didn't say there is 1 way of using them. But usualy people buy them for higher watt usage since they don't deliver their full flavour at 10 watts. You can get a lambo and do 50 mph,no problem. All i am saying is that there is a difference in flavour once you climb down the ohms and up the watts. Each his own of course.

Yes this is my only reason whatsoever. I have like 20 different juice flavors. I wait until I finish off a bottle before moving on. It'd be cool to have a way to try a new flavor mixed in occasionally. That or my local vape shop would just drop juice straight in my dripper to try. I was just curious about that. It's not a need, and a minor want lol.

Ohms & wattage is ohhhhh so subjective. I don't know why people insist on having that argument or any argument as a matter of fact.

I cannot & will not assume I know what works for someone else. I can offer suggestions but that doesn't mean my suggestion is the end all be all.

My OH uses an EVOD & is plenty happy with the flavor & vapor she gets & we all know an EVOD is not a low ohm-high wattage device.
