I almost wish I hadn't gone straight from my first e-cig, an ego, to the provari. This is a hobby as much as anything else and there is almost nothing left to aspire to now.
I guess I will have to be content with buying cool tanks and drip tips and maybe blinging my unit up a bit.
Hell.... I can't even wish I had gotten the blue LED option, because thats what I bought.
~sigh~
I find myself viewing "Vape porn" and looking at all the mods people have just to entertain myself.
Is this what it feels like to be married to Sandra Bullock and still want more? Am I as sick as that guy?
No! I WILL remain faithful to my black chrome Provari. I will!
......the silver chrome one looks pretty cool though. I'll bet it would look hot dressed out with blue LED and a really cool Lava tank in white and blue..... :)

I didn't look at every post on this thread so it might of already been said, but I would have to say it looks like a "toy" for the ladies if you know what I mean.
*shrug*
I think I might get over it tho if I bought one.

I tell you what, my first impression was virtually the same but then I encountered one at my local e-cig shop. Seriously, once I had that thing in my hand it felt like a fantastic Snap-On tool....it's exquisite....:2cool:

I guess everyone knew I would wind up in this thread sooner or later. LOL

I would not buy a Provari - heck, if you gave me one it would go in the trash or I'd give it to a homeless bum or use it to throw notes through windows. - because:

Too heavy.

Very Bad design on the menu navigation - sure it's fine once you get used to it I'm told, BUT one should not have to subject themselves to getting used to such an archaic design - no self respecting designer should expect them to either.

Ugly as sin. Looks like something out of the 60's.

... you did say "besides the price.."

I hate all things that have too much hype around them with no or little facts. People fawn over these things like they are gods gift to vapers. I can understand being a fan but some people tend to go overboard with the Provari. It's a turn off for me. I heard the Provari parts are made in China and it's only assembled in the USA. Yet, people speak of the Provari as if it's 100% American made. It's all just hype to me.

One man's trash is another man's gold. The only reason I wouldn't buy 'another' Provari is if someone were nice enough to 'gift' me a Kantana Limited Edition.

I wouldn't have one due to the amp limit. I love my 1.6 DCT at 6-7.4v... hits like a friggin' freight train. I also don't vape juices in my mod that don't do well at 6V+. Anything under 6 and the vape isn't warm enough for me. If the juice can't do well at HV but does taste good then it goes in my 808 for on the go vaping. Why would I spend the $160+ on a booster circuit that can't do the same as a $35 dollar box mod? When I'm vaping my mod it's for a serious vape session. I'm not playing games here lol. I'm sorry but if I spent that kind of money on a mod I better see vape not e-2.

What kind of juice are you vaping that holds up at 34 watts of power (1.6 ohms + 7.4 volts)?

When the noise about VV got to be so loud I couldn't take it any more, I picked up an inexpensive VV box to see what the hubbub was all about. I couldn't be happier that I only spent 35 bucks for that experiment.

What I discovered: I was setting the VV to the exact same voltages I could achieve before I had VV. I've done such a good job of matching attys and cartos to my batts and juices that VV is rather pointless for me. So, a VV mod that would set me back a couple of hundred bucks while not being able to handle one of the cartos I use fairly regularly at the voltage I like to use it at would be pretty silly.

Price really doesn't bother me. The idea of "complicated" menus doesn't scare me (my job requires I use menus much more complicated with way more information and I'm efficient with those). The amp limit should be addressed by the manufacturer because it sure looks like dual coils are here to stay. Some of its features look like they'd be handy.... but the main feature, VV, is what I personally don't have much use for.

I actually vape top vapor top banana, and only deviate from this when I get a free sample or just a REALLY good deal. I'm a peculiar vapor it seems as I like a warm vape with just a twinge of flavor. I vape for TH and nic not flavor. Most of the "prime" juices are overpowering with flavor IMO and I can't stand to vape them for long periods. I'm the type of person though even if I didn't vape at 34W I would would expect my mod be able to do this.

As far as juice goes... The juice being vaporized really is just being subjected only to 17 watts of power. Remember each coil is 3.2 ohm and you are just doing it twice in a single carto tube. It's really like running two single coil cartos off of a single set of batteries. Sorta like this.... Review of the Shotgun dual atomiser electronic cigarette by E-Cig-Reviews.com You would be at more of a risk for burning juice with a 2.0ohm boge SC carto at 7.4v than a 1.6 DC carto at 7.4v. As all the juice being vaporized would be subjected a single coil with 28W of power being ran through it. The overall power is lower but temperature of the single coil is greater in the 2.0 ohm coil setup. The only thing that really experiences any extra "strain" is the battery and the mod circuitry itself. Which in all honesty I do over strain the regulator chip in my box mod according to the MFG data sheets. It's rated for 3.0A and I pull 4.625A on it. Even with this load on it I have been vaping it daily for the last 7 months (as I just got the 808 a few weeks ago) and it's still going strong. I figure if it dies tomorrow I can look at the cost of it at about $5 a month and for kicking out vapor at 34W total power that's not too shabby IMO.
