I don't see PETA having a problem with it...as long as Mr Kitty/Bunny is wicking properly there should be no burning or discolouration...it's all good
No, NO,,, bunny fur wick tastes very bad when the coil runs dry.
(don't ask how I know this)

Putting the rabbit aside I have ordered 1/0 candle wick unwaxed no zinc or lead, 400 ss mesh and 32 and 32 gauge kanthal. I'll wait for the vivinova before I try a cotton ball, and no, I won't be visiting the pound.
The effect of breathing cotton fiber was touched on early in the thread.. has that been cleared up?
Sounds like you're locked and loaded for full on wick experimenting
I thought about the "breathing in" of cotton fibers as well then I thought that seeing as 80% of all textiles used around the planet contain cotton and the first thing we're strapped into is a cotton diaper I came to the conclusion that if breathing in cotton fiber was dangerous we'd all be dead a long time ago...just my![]()

Call me silly but what are cigarette filters made out of, seriously any idea?
Its ironic isn't it, how afraid we are of the unknown now, but when we knew it could kill us, we didn't worry about it.
(from Wiki)
95% of cigarette filters are made of cellulose acetate (a plastic), and the balance are made from papers and rayon.
And lets not forget all the glue we smoked from the roll your own papers. (zig zag)

May be a good thing it did as the coil was pretty gunked up by then.@RR,
I don't bother cleaning now, a 75' roll of Kanthal is about 5 buck and a ball of yarn is only a dollar two nighty eight.
So for less than 10 bucks worth of supplies that should last about 300 years,,,, I'm good.
