Apparently she would rather have you dead sooner from tobacco smoking than vaping.
My wife and I both use e-cig and have no problems with it, anywhere. I really don't see how anyone could be embarrassed from vaping. I think my nice little black 401 Dragon is pretty cool. You don't like it - don't look.

My boyfriend supports that I use the E-cig, he says he wants me to live a long life so we have more time to share together. He tells me my life is important, spending money on them is a small price to pay. You can't put a price on someones life, it is priceless. So I spend as much as want, vape as long as I choose. He is a nonsmoker, loves how I don't have to go into another room..I sit beside him and vape now. Its great. I hope that everyone can get to the point of understanding, and meanwhile we do have each other for support. I am thankful for this fourm every day. I love ya all!

I will vape my 510 in public with no problem. Most people do not realize its not a real cigarette. If they do I just tell them all about. I am yet to use my Little Chuck in public and can't see myself doing that. It is so big I think I would be embrassed. It looks like I'm smoking dope. . This thing looks masculater and I am a woman.

My husband doesn't say anything he is just proud that I no longer smoke. He is allergic to cigarette smoke and would complain all of the time.

No offense to anybody that is married here, but if you would let you spouse tell you what you can and can't do (with some obvious exceptions), you have no spine. As someone said, a marriage isn't a dictatorship.

Now, if you guys are struggling to make your mortgage or pay bills, then I could see her being upset that you're spending money on vaping. If that isn't the case, she isn't being a very good wife.

That being said, opinions should always be welcome, but they shouldn't be the sole deciding factor in your behavior.

Just .02 from an unmarried 23 year old. :)

I've been married. I went into it with the idea that it was a partnership, two against the world. I still think that that is what a marriage should be. Well, he looked at it like he was the boss of me, controlled everything about my life (I really mean this - more like enslaved than married). Suffice it to say, I'm divorced.

The poster who said she has no authority to make those decisions for him - more power to you. NO ONE has the authority to make your decisions for you. Yes, they can state their opinion, but no one has the right to run YOUR life. You only get one, why let someone else control the reins?

I vape wherever I go. Except for in other peoples houses...theres a level of respect I won't cross. If they smoke outside, I vape outside. That being said, I don't see why anyone would need to be embarrassed. It should be a matter of being PROUD you are taking the steps to better your health and even those around you (second hand smoke). Until proven otherwise, PV's are mostly harmless, almost none of the negative side effects of analogs. Eh but I'm not going to preach to the choir on that. If we aren't willing to be in the public eye and answer questions and offer educated information people like the FDA are going to be the only opinion the public has to go off of. We can't afford to hide in our houses. As for family support, you can't change their minds, just try to educate them and allow them to make their own decisions.

I have often thought that e-cigs really show off how pathetic we are as addicts - and I'm not trying to be funny or rude - I just mean I find myself sucking away at this little device and thinking, my goodness, I must look like a real numbskull! But it is better than smoking analogs, and I suppose there are more embarrassing things to do in public...I don't think e-cigs are "cool" though - just like I don't think analogs are "cool" - they're an (uncool) tool to feed the nicotine monster is all...:thumb:

I think PVs are very cool. It's a gadget. It's a high-tech drug delivery device. As for the addict thing, I want you to think of all those people carrying around S'bucks cups. How pathetic is that as an addiction? :)

My wife is a non-smoker who grew up with a mother who smoked 2-4 packs a day minimum. Her mom's health is certainly suffering from all those analogs, but she can't break the addiction. My wife HATED my smoking and out of respect for her, I never once smoked in the house and tried not to smoke near her, even to go outside and do it because the smell bothered her. Even if I did, she usually complained about it after I came back in from the patio.

However, she has no problem with me vaping while holding her on the couch watching a movie. The only three complaints she ever has about them is:

1. She doesn't like the smell of the pina colada juice I made because she doesn't like coconut and the smell lingers a bit (the last batch I made had a bit too much flavoring; she hasn't even noticed a smell with any other liquids), so I won't use that flavor around her until I fix my recipe.

2. She doesn't like how much time I spend modding my stuff and experimenting with liquid. I do it with all new gadgets and my PV is no exception. Now that I've ordered a Chuck, I expect that the modding should die down, but juice experimentation is a different matter...

3. Lastly, I've spent about about $400-500 in the past two months on supplies, mods, and etc and she doesn't like that. But, I don't think she realizes that this amount is about comparable to my analog habit in the same time frame.

She thinks that I'm just enjoying playing with my silly new gadget, and has no problem with me using it in public, but thinks I shouldn't use it in restaurants or while shopping (which I never did with analogs anyway).
