"My wife says they look stupid and won't let me take it out in public."

My wife does not hold enough authority in my household to make such
decisions for me.

Your wife doesn't hold enough authority to have an opinion on one of your decisions? Ugh...where exactly IS the cave you live in?

I wasn't instructing, I was asking a question... And I get a lot less negativity from my PV than I did from my analogs.... I for one am proud that I am no longer smoking... I enjoy my PV, and I REALLY enjoy turning other people onto it as well... the way I see it, the more it's out there the less taboo and wicked it becomes.... after all a good rule of thumb is if you feel you have to hide it, then it's probably wrong.... I don't feel this is wrong... or atleast not as wrong as offending people with smoke...

it may be time to start setting up the ecf singles match-maker part of the forums lol "where vaping vapors can vape together in harmony" lmao

serious side .... if she has never smoked analogs or anything else before, tell her to please be patient and stick it out with you.... she has no idea how tough it is to quit an addictive chemical as nicotine.

I also vape in public just about anywhere. I even tried it during jury duty. and yes my wife does complain. the only place I do give in to her complaints is church. I dont mind the questions. I look at them as an a chance to tell someone else about them. maybe I can save someone from dyeing of cancer. ive seen it and its not a good thing. do it for your kids

I vape everywhere and my wife does not like it, but likes it 100x better than smoking! Having said that we both came to a mutual conclusion that vaping infront of our 3 year old was not I her best interest. So the only time I hide it is when I am around young kids (not only just mine).

I don't either. I love vaping but do not want to encourage kids to take it up.

Yeah hiding stuff from kids usually comes back to bite you in the behind, I didnt hide when I smoked cigs, I don't hide when I have a drink and I'm not gonna hide vaping. Rather explain it and move on then them accidently discover it and have a problem. My 5 year old knows not to touch anything to do with vaping but if I hid it and she found a bottle of something that smelled like vanilla she might take a drink. Rather them know that it can poison them and have it out in the open.

Just my take on it everyone has to raise their kids the best they can.

Never thought about not smoking infront of kids, but what the hell I use to smoke and my daughter would see it if she came into the garage or saw me out in the yard. Now I smoke when I sit and play games with her and she does mind, she tells me when my light starts to blink cause the battery has died lol. I think kids should have controlled exposure vs finding out on their own with friends thats when we as parents have lost control is when they find things out with their peers cause were too late.
Plus I have whats called house law, after god comes me and you think god has a wrath wait till the wife or the kids see mine the devil looks like an angel with a halo and harp in hand.

I guess this is kind of off topic but kind of on since it's his wife wanting to nix it, but telling someone what they or cannot do is not holding an "opinion" on a matter, it is deciding it. Her opinion is it looks stupid and embarrassing. Opinion noted, VAPE ON!

I will admit that while in the casino the other night, I tried to hide it and even smoked a couple analogs, but that was more because I was there to gamble and not field questions all night, and if I vaped like I smoke while at the casino, I'd need 8 batteries, 7 PCC's and a 50ml bottle of juice! Lol

Personally, I didn't even consider anyone would think it looked stupid until reading some of the posts on this forum. In my opinion, they are far cooler then smoking analogs. No smell, no stained teeth, no stinky clothes and furnature and car, no stained walls, no burned clothing, no lovely grimy orange stain on your fingers, no burns on your skin, no charming hacking cough and spitting every morning, no slimy coating over your tongue making it impossible to taste good food, no late night runs to the supermarket to drop 20 bucks on two packs of smokes which last only a handful of days, assuming those days arent stressful sending me out all over again despite how sick i'm feeling... Oh yea - and No Emphasema, mouth, throat and lung cancer, (dont want to forget those paltry points, right?)

When you think about all of those things i frankly think smoking analogs make you look like a suicidal ...... I mean no offense to anyone in particular, but if you HAVE an option that eliminates literally every negative thing while leaving all the parts you like about smoking, why would ever touch an analog again if you didn't have to?

personally, I think the ecigs look cool, i look forward to more colors and designs being available like the Dragon and the Pheonix as well as Totally Wickeds little Devil which i think definatelly is a very neat looking little thing.

I dont yet have my first one, still doing my research to decide between the 510 and the Evo right now, but i am just stoked, ad i'm already trying to talk my local shops to carrying ejuice from tastyvapors etc. I tedll everyone about using ecigs as an option to suicidal analogs.

But really, i just *dont* understand how anyone could thing they look any stupider then an analog smoke, in fact i with the colors i think they just look much neater. It boggles me that anyone could find them stupid looking in compariso... :shrugs:

This is me. Boggled!

Just my two cents,
Nikki :)

My wife says they look stupid and won't let me take it out in public, she also says it's like a pacifier for me because i vape ay my desk at home all the time. I tell her ''well would you rather i have one of these or smoke real cigarettes'' and her answer is ''you shouldn't be using anything at all''.

Anybody elses non-smoking spouse not like them either ? lol

Showed my gf (med student) an article on the germicidal properties of PG, and now she doesn't give me sh%t about it. Just imagine what it was like when I smoked.......... <chills>

I have often thought that e-cigs really show off how pathetic we are as addicts - and I'm not trying to be funny or rude - I just mean I find myself sucking away at this little device and thinking, my goodness, I must look like a real numbskull! But it is better than smoking analogs, and I suppose there are more embarrassing things to do in public...I don't think e-cigs are "cool" though - just like I don't think analogs are "cool" - they're an (uncool) tool to feed the nicotine monster is all...:thumb:
