Tell ya man, these fender mustangs are amazing. I've been playing around with modelling pedals like my zoom. but it's a pain to adjust and the usb on screen thing is cluttered. I can plug my netbook into the amp and the screen shows a background pic of the amp you are using, you can see where each knob is set, what fx are added. so clean. I grabbed the 4 button footswitch (mustang 3 comes with just a 2) and you can use both pedals for 6 options. I have my 3 fav amps setup and use the 2 button to turn overdrive on and off (stimp box anyway) and turn either chorus or delay on and off. the 4 button has 3 modes... 1 is 3 fav selects, 2nd is up, down and bank, 3rd is a 3 way stomp box with lots of choices.
it's surprisingly accurate. I use a '57 deluxe for clean, a fender bassman overdriven for blue stuff and have a princeton setup with some delay for crunch. there's vox, era marshalls, ampeg etc as well, but just about any fender amp available. 100 watt. for the money I paid I am amazed at this amp. I don't need any external fx..
weare doing a tom petty tune. I just found a sweet banjo patch on my roland gk3. I am blending that in with guitar (intro clean is a 57 deluxe with chorus) and I can do the little banjo fills. the roland gets me lost. I start looking for a sound to fit somewhere and then find something cool and just jam with myself. I was doing some heavy crap tonight with drums underneath and even jammed sitar for a while... ravi baby haha
our first gig is a fund raiser for jobs daughters. I really like that idea. funny the old guitar player asked me what I am getting paid. I said I have no clue. I just got sick of only jamming once every 3 months. I just want to get up in front of people again. I so miss that high.
anyway, been playing for about 5 hrs now and my hands are sore, it's hot in here (had to open the garage door) sweating... and it's forum time
