yupper. things are good. and I'll still buy my car, I found the car I want. I'm just going to wait as sept I have been on this new job long enough I won't need a co signer

I got to play through a laney. very nice amps. I love the look too. I have a fender mustang 3. it's a 100 watt modelling amp. I use a '57 deluxe a lot for my clean, but a bassman with overdrive for blues, or a princeton... it's like having all my fav old amps. even has a very real sounding pair of 59 champs in stereo. the amp just came with a 2 button footswitch so all I can do is move up or down in patches. I ordered the 4 button and they both work together (like I need more footswitches around me) but then I can turn fx on and off, setup favs and such. it has usb and with a computer screen you can see what amp you are on (shows a pic of the actual amp), see the built in tuner as it's huge on screen. it's got marshalls and vox and such as well

my keyboard amp is a yorkville, bass amp is a fender.... I have this one little amp I got in a package at xs cargo. they sell amp and guitar combo for $100. academy. don't laugh hehe, the guys always crap themselves when they see how loud and clean this junk amp is. for 10 watt, we used it as our vocal monitor when we first started and never went above 2 on the volume. if you want a really decent playing acoustic for cheap, check out xs cargo. it's my garage guitar, and for the price I don't have to worry if I scratch or chip something.

well guess what? I got an email back from the band that they wanted me out for a second audition. wtf, I thought I was in. they wanted to hear me play an instrument. it was a short session and at the end they thanked me and said they'd get back to me. I let them know I had other options had also come up and let me know soon then. learning all these tunes is really a lot of work. well they talked and before I'd loaded my gear it wasa done deal. turns out I was the only person called back for a second audition :D

I have to learn 5-7 songs a week now plus to get ready. been sitting here practicing a few hours today. finally got my patches figured out for the horn sections in the stevie wonder tune.

then to top it off the old band guys called tonight about jamming. I had to say, no to tomorrow and tonight would work. I don't mind jamming but we need to work on the songs I am learning for the band. then I'd get some live practice in. I know they want to do other stuff too but I get word salad trying to remember too many lyrics. at least tom understood. I fell kinda bad leaving them because if it wasn't for Tom, I might not be singing like this again. So there's a loyalty thing going on in the noggin

Nice equipment. My laney was the aor series pro tube. I beleive it was made in the 80s and early 90s. I loved it and regret selling it. They are hard to come by. 100 watts of all tube, it had treble, bass, mids, gain pull switch knobs for boost. I sold it to a guy that collected amps and I think it went to good hands. I play more metal than anything else so I didnt really have any fenders for guitars, but I had an epiphone, jackson, and schecter. Still have the schecter around though.

Tell ya man, these fender mustangs are amazing. I've been playing around with modelling pedals like my zoom. but it's a pain to adjust and the usb on screen thing is cluttered. I can plug my netbook into the amp and the screen shows a background pic of the amp you are using, you can see where each knob is set, what fx are added. so clean. I grabbed the 4 button footswitch (mustang 3 comes with just a 2) and you can use both pedals for 6 options. I have my 3 fav amps setup and use the 2 button to turn overdrive on and off (stimp box anyway) and turn either chorus or delay on and off. the 4 button has 3 modes... 1 is 3 fav selects, 2nd is up, down and bank, 3rd is a 3 way stomp box with lots of choices.

it's surprisingly accurate. I use a '57 deluxe for clean, a fender bassman overdriven for blue stuff and have a princeton setup with some delay for crunch. there's vox, era marshalls, ampeg etc as well, but just about any fender amp available. 100 watt. for the money I paid I am amazed at this amp. I don't need any external fx..

weare doing a tom petty tune. I just found a sweet banjo patch on my roland gk3. I am blending that in with guitar (intro clean is a 57 deluxe with chorus) and I can do the little banjo fills. the roland gets me lost. I start looking for a sound to fit somewhere and then find something cool and just jam with myself. I was doing some heavy crap tonight with drums underneath and even jammed sitar for a while... ravi baby haha

our first gig is a fund raiser for jobs daughters. I really like that idea. funny the old guitar player asked me what I am getting paid. I said I have no clue. I just got sick of only jamming once every 3 months. I just want to get up in front of people again. I so miss that high.

anyway, been playing for about 5 hrs now and my hands are sore, it's hot in here (had to open the garage door) sweating... and it's forum time

I also owned a PT, but had the front end ripped off by a car thief doing 60mph thru a red light. Ya, I was one of those you see on the TV shows. I survived tho. I was a bit leary of the PT as whenever I needed to make an abrupt stop, it didn't stop that fast. So, take it easy and be quick on the brakes with them. I now own one of these(Chevy HHR SS/Stage1 mod) and it blows the PT away in every facet.
GL on the cutting down M8.
Cheers, Bill

Never. I am now singing a ton in d. stuff I refused to sing a few months ago. even if I had to give up vaping I would never touch an analog again. they stink. I get one song this last batch that I don't have to sing. woohoo. I get to go nuts and play boogie piano. I have lots to learn. learning 6 tunes a week right now. more if we can squeeze them in. I'm even tossing some banjo in the mix hehe

Today was a love hate day. Stalked the postman as I have 3 shipments coming... all I got was one friggin leaflet of junk mail... I was working out a mini meet up for tonight and on the phone with katz, an email comes in... "the guitar you ordered is now in the store" ... sorry katz gotta hang up, talk to you in a while. the store called here after emailing but I was already half way there.

I absolutely love this guitar. I have 2 acoustics, 2 electrics and a bass. one electric is my midi guitar (play piano, horns, just about anything on it, and most people dig it the most) but this new acoustic is now my fav guitar. the sound with these new fender strings is so bright and clear. I just put new rotosounds strings on my other acoustic. it is a rich deep sound but nowhere near as bright as the new one. the neck is more like an electric. it fits my hands so well and less fatiguing to play than my other acoustic (that guitar never leaves my van, every nick and scratch is just character).

I played it when I got home for a good hour and a half. probably woke some neighbours up. I started quiet but hey. now if it was only possible to have sex with a guitar. I'd be getting married tonight :D
