Personally not owning a dna I have not kept up with the TCR ranges. That being said I do plan to update to get the ability. From what I read adjusting the curve is much easier than on escribe. So I say put the info out there for those of us that are not that familiar. I can see both sides but those that have figured out can help all those who haven't yet. I have faith the bugs will be worked out in 3.1 etc... I am actually impressed at the rate updates are coming versus many competitors. Can't we all just get along. :thumb:

You're assuming he knew about the workaround (people here didn't either, not right away). He experienced a malfunctioning device after the upgrade, and cautioning people about it early was the right thing to do.

I saw no such information, nor did you provide it.
What you posted was him saying the SS TC does not work... do not get the upgrade.

Not helpful.

Update 3.0 is working for me. On a triton tank with a 0.4 ohm coil, the regular SS mode was bad enough for me to use wattage mode. Now that I set the TCR to 128, I am a happy camper. At 25 watts@450F, I can hold the fire button down all 10 sec. I don't see temp protect until 40 watts@450F. I like the 25w as anything higher and my lips feel singed. The update was worth while for me. It made dialing in a tank very easy.

Ill tell you why they don't cost more money. because the quality of them is crap but that's for another thread. Let the fan boys hate.

I'm not a fan boy, I vape on anything that works properly and am not loyal to any company. But I am curious...

List better mods for under 45 bucks right now please for everyone's sake. We all know you don't like the RX because you dropped yours and blamed the mod for failing.

Other than the cuboid which in my opinion are of the same great quality as they are made by the same people, I'm interested as to what you consider to be good.

The RX200 is a good mod, for the price but its poorly made. That is not only based on my experience but countless others whos rx200s have just stopped working.

I don't think it's poorly made. Mine still works after numerous times of taking care of it; like how any electronic device should be taken care of. When my rx200 stops working, I just put in fully charged batteries for it to work again.

Strange... yours and exactly one other "broke when dropped" are the extant of reports I've seen of the RX having "stopped working". Barring that single vape shop melt-down that is.
Granted, I've only read a scant couple thousand posts on this mod, so I must have missed the bulk of reports.

I am finding on all the jtech mods I have, I have to set the tcr to 120+ to get the vape I like, The manual SS mode seem weak to me. not a big deal though, at least it can be done on the device. .092 is the suggested rate for 316L and I belive thats about were it at in the ss setting. I am really digging the adjustable TCR to dial it in. just trial and error untill you find ypur sweet spot.

well I dialed it in.
Coefficient 126
550 F and 50 W

It's working in the sense that Temp Protect is not going off but when I watch the temperature on the screen it's going all over the place at the beginning it started at 300 as the drag went longer it seemed to fluctuate between 500' and 547'F

Is this what it's supposed to do.?

Oh when the Atty became hot it started popping out nto Watts mode at 20 Watts.
At least the default is 20 Watts and not 200 so I'm not going to be frying any Atty's. I think I'm going to give up on SS TC Mode until the next update. Just for the fun of it I may experiment with TC Mode on Ni.

Go on the rx/dna 200 facebook page and you can find plenty of cases

I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

Well Tom, I haven't been using 3.0 long at all, but I already find the variable TCR a terrific new feature that appears to work well with my Ti builds. The memory function is great too as I use two different grades of Ti wire and can switch the TCR factor back and forth easily, so I would say it is also a plus. I look at these updates as a somewhat adequate solution for mods that seem to be in perpetual beta testing mode and can at least hope for problems being sorted in future versions. Good too for folks like me who like to fidget a lot and experiment.
