I'm using KGO 1100mah batteries with 1 protank II and two mini's with 2.5 ohm coils. I'm getting good vapor from them, not sure about flavor yet.

2.5 ohms will give a weak vape. I used 1.8 ohms on my Kgo.
3.7 volts (Kgo)= 1.5- 2.0 ohms
4.0+ volts= above 2.0 ohms.
2.5 ohms is usually for a PV like the Twist or Spinner which fire from 3.3- 4.8 volts. I owned my Kgo long before clearo were around and found/ still find the 1.7 Resurrector single coil cartos gave the best vape. When the Kgo first came out these were the preferred juice delivery device. Also known as the SmokTech 1.7 carto. Used mine in a tank.
Here's a review with them at 3.7 volts and whether or not you switch to cartos at the very least use a lower ohms for a much better hit.

In addition to finding the "right" hardware setup, the thing that helped me quit completely was finding good juice. There's a lot of mediocre (or worse) e-liquid out there. Finding juice and juice vendors that I loved made all the difference in the world.

I stumbled around shopping on the net before I found ecf so I can't compare juice qualities yet. So far I've ordered from firebrand, apple pie and menthol ice are good but pricey and zues ejuice, a few flavors ok others not so much, but i didn't know about steeping yet either so I'll reserve an opinion for now.

Waiting on some vape mail from MBV who I discovered from here. Picking flavors is tough tho, the ones I like only vaguely resemble the flavor their named after.

You may just need to up your nicotine level for at least a while. Starting out I used 24mg, and even with continous vaping it wasn't fully killing the craving. I upped it to 30mg, and quickly 36mg which got me over the hump. It was strong enough to quickly raise my nic level waking up in the AM. I found I could lessen my death grip on my PV, relaxed a bit.

After beating back the initial crazies, I've transitioned back down SLOWLY, and after 3+ years I'm down to 18-20mg, vaping when I feel like it and not craving smokes at all...:)

Well, it was plain and simple stubbornness on my part. Started off on cig-a-likes, and when I finished my last pack, was to damn stubborn to go back. Then once that wasn't quite satisfying me, bought an ego and a PT. Had problems with that, when searching the net, found this site. Then I got ...... when I really saw what was available, bought a Provari after a long search and research. Much better, but still found something missing. Then I discovered rba's. Learned how to build, learned how to build better, and finally found total vape satisfaction. Problem was, when vaping huge tasty clouds of vape at high watts, you go through juice like crazy!! I then dove into DIY juice. Now my juice cost has dropped dramatically, and not concerned when I vape like 15 ml in a day. I then decided to explore mech mods. Since I now have a good working knowledge of ohm's law, and builds, a good ohm meter a quality charger with voltage readout, and respect for proper batteries, handling and storage, I have a good mech with a kick 2, several quality rba's and just pulled the trigger on the Aqua rba.

Possibly my stubbornness and partly the amount of time and money have all contributed to the ease that I haven't felt the need to smoke again. I smoked for 27 years, attempted to quit many times, with no good results. When I first started to vape, I knew I had found my path to freedom from smoking. And it has turned into a fun hobby, which I enjoy to the fullest. I have been smoke free for 6 months now, have never been happier. Am more positive and productive. This is what vape has given me. I never had the urge, temptations or cravings, that are usually associated with quitting smokes. Am I lucky, yeah, lucky I found this site, and the knowledge contained with in. But mainly I'm a stubborn cuss who once sees a real solution to a problem, refuses to give up. I have found what I was missing, and found more than I ever expected to.

Not saying one needs to buy all the crap I did. Just saying that there are solutions. A satisfying vape has more to do with the atomizer then the device used to power the atomizer. But, to fully develop the most of a quality atomizer, a quality power source must be used. Find what works best for you and see where it takes you.

A buddy of mine (yes I have a buddy) who happen to get me into Vapeing, recently had a major part of his house burn down (not Vape related) and is currently smoking again, thing is we're addicted and stuff happens and bam back to smoking. He was living in a Hotel for a few days and not so many ways in room to charge a few batts cell etc.... Easier to buy a pack of smokes.

He well return to Vapeing it's just a matter of time.

Indeed vernhall. Addictive behaviors are extraordinarily difficult to modify. Nicotine from analogs hits the brain in a few sec. Analogs are the perfect nicotine delivery device, and the ritual and behavioral associations make it all the more pernicious. Only for purposes of dosing (it may help to raise awareness and titrate dosing), estimate a 1 mg nicotine hit per each analogue. Estimates for vaping range wildly, but a reasonable estimate is 25% delivery efficiency from vaping. This means that you will deliver roughly 5-6 analog equivalents when you vape ejuice conaining 24 mg/ml nicotine during any given time period. Do not feel much guilt or failure when/if you relapse. Reward your successes instead. Good luck!

I just started Vaping on Oct. 24th and so far have not picked up a analog. I will say for ME not anyone else and I am in NO WAY casting judgement, but my case, my husband had gotten into a very serious motorcycle accident in Nov 2011 and from that day he stopped smoking but watched me smoke daily, His windpipe was seriously damaged to the point of he had a trach for over a year and a half, 21 outpatient surgeries to try and repair it that did not work then on May 17th of 2013 went through a major surgery to have the damaged part of the windpipe removed (tracheal resection) while in the hospital he got a very nasty MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) pneumonia infection in his lungs and spent 3 weeks on a ventilator to breath for him. When he got home he would always see me smoking and started up with cigars maybe 1 a day then quickly went to cigar cigarettes and that went to almost a pack a day. I knew if I wanted him to quit I would have to as well. Also my Father just had his bladder removed due to bladder cancer and this is his 4th type of cancer including lung cancer so another reason. The most important reason though is I was ready to stop. So I hit the local Vap shop got my E-Go C Twist and a 12mg Juice of a good cigarette tasting juice, and I nursed that thing like a pacifier for the first 4 days. I think had i just gotten the "yummy" flavors I wouldn't have stopped, the actual taste was a big help. Also I needed to have that BIG Vapor cloud...oddly it made a difference for me...lol

Good Luck to you and everyone trying to stop, its not an easy habit to break at all.

It was easy for me, because I had a MAJOR health scare, where I almost died (was given less than 5% chance of living). The reason for my near death? Smoking.
So, when my cardiologist turned me on to vaping, it was VERY easy. When you are told to "Say what you want to say to your family", because it will be the last thing you say to them, the decision is very easy.
Thing is, I was a smoker for over 20 years in denial that it would ever cause a problem for me. Then, one day.....BAM! I told all the doctors and nurses that it wasn't possible that I was having a heart attack. I was only 38 years old...there's no way.
But...that's exactly what happened. Not to sound morbid or anything, but we are all going to be faced with that at some point.....but the smokers out there are going to get there much, much sooner.
So, like I said....decision was easy for me.

First thing to do is start counting the cigarettes that you don't smoke (successes) instead of the ones that you do (failures). So get a banner as soon as you can do a signature, and build on your successes instead of your failures.

I'm one of those that found the transition seamless from smoking to vaping. After vaping for a day cigarettes just tasted to bad to tolerate.

Well, I wouldn't say analogs are the perfect nicotine delivery system. Sure, they're a FAST nicotine delivery system, but fast does not perfect make! If that were true, then strapping a bunch of JATO rockets to the back of a pickup truck would be the perfect commute. Never mind slamming into the first wall or tree you encounter and that it will probably kill you - you get there very quickly, that's all that counts! ;)

I received my first kit on Oct 12 and haven't touched an analogue since. I think one thing that made it easier for me was that I was REALLY excited about vaping and couldn't wait to get started. I smoked for about 13 years and the longest I have been off nicotine completely was about 4 years back when I used the patches and quit for about a month. I really enjoy vaping and it has many advantages over the stinkies. I can vape in the house, no more going outside in the freezing cold to smoke. I can vape at the bar when I go for darts (I play in a weekly league and live in NY state so no smoking in bars) and I can also vape at my friends houses and in non smokers vehicles as well. I don't really see any down side to it at all! It's a fun hobby and I am really starting to understand how people get into it so much and spend so much money on it! It's still cheaper for me than buying cigs though. They're $9 a pack here in NY unless I get the cheap ones from the reservation!

This got me wondering. So, as someone suggested I took the $ I would have used to buy another couple cartons and went to the mall. Bought an SDV. Wow, I thought I was getting good vapor before but was wrong by a long shot. Now I'm getting twice the vape for half the effort. :)

Good for you mike, that's great! Keep up the good work and you will be there in no time. For me vaping is definitely more work, but I tend to enjoy it at the same time!

Way to go MikeZ28...Z28= very nice set of wheels. So very glad it all worked out for you. I have all sorts of PVs and still occasionally use the Kgo. If storing the Kgo for awhile best to store with a 50% battery charge.
Really  this thread has a Happy Ending and now "it's all good" :vapor:

For us it was all about mentality... and I spent our entire cigarette budget getting us started. :) I'm surprised I had more adjustment issues than hubby but my gear wasn't working spectacularly the first couple weeks which made it more difficult than it needed to be, lol.

Glad you seem to have found a better set up that is satisfying you!

    I don't know.

When I bought my blu starter kit, I did it to supplement smoking and to see if I liked it. Not necessarily to quit, as I had basically given up on quitting smoking. I used the blu's to help me cut down from 2pad to about 1pad in 3 weeks and then started to look for other things that were 'better'.

Within a week of getting my first real pv, I was down to a handful of smokes a day, and they just were not enjoyable to me. They tasted disgusting, and We're starting to make me feel sick from a few drags. So, when I finally decided to go tobacco free, it was easy.

Maybe it was easy for me because I was not really trying to quit when I took up vaping. But in the end, I found something I enjoyed MORE than smoking. I also think it really helps to find an all day vape early on. Something you really enjoy.

There's definite truth in what you say, Jayvaps. Most people who start vaping have tried many times to quit smoking but failed, and thus the idea of "quitting smoking" is unconsciously associated with "failing". So if you then try to focus on quitting analogs, your subconscious thinks "it'll fail again" and it will fail - self fulfilling prophecy. However, if you don't focus on trying to quit analogs and just thing "eff it, I'm just vaping because I like it, not because I want to quit smoking", you'll actually probably succeed quite easily in quitting the old analogs... So no stress, vape on, don't try to quit - you'll get there eventually. ;)

I just get more satisfaction from vaping than i ever did smoking. The more i vape the more i like it. I have my ups and downs though, well kind of !. Lost a bit of faith in rbs'a until i started vaping straight into my lungs, which was something i tend to forget now and again. I get a much much better throat hit doing it that way especially with cinnamon in an rba, smoking doesn't even come close. Still looking for better flavours though. There are a couple of others i use which are banana nut bread, good in a protank, and golden virginia, natural extract, in a protank too. I just hit them really hard, especially in the morning. Each drag is a sigh of relief, you know that feeling, breathing it in, then exhaling, so satisfying right !, i just love that, totally reminds me of smoking a big fat cigar, but it tastes better, much better. In contrast i do get flavours that are just quite simply...crap !, then i start losing faith again. I know there's more flavours out there and i've got half a dozen different 5ml bottles ready to try. I know if i can build up enough satisfying flavours in my stash i won't get bored with what i have. So i just keep searching !

I'm thinking about giving flavoured air a try sometime soon.:2cool:
