I have the same set up as my 'out and about' daily driver. The Pulse 80 is superb IMO and the Recurve is bested only by my KRMA. I have the Nudge 22 as well but prefer the draw on the Recurve. Less noisy too. With the Recurve cap not sitting flush, I had the same issue, was pretty peeved at first. What I found (by accident) was that with the O-rings slightly moistened with juice and then putting the top cap on with a twisting motion (clockwise), it beds down and sits flush, putting it on with the top cap already lined up with a wide open airflow it will not bed down. Not sure if that will work for you but I'd be surprised if it doesn't.

I know you say you may not have bought the combination you did if you'd had the time to shop online but in all honesty, I did have the time and I researched LOADS. Out of them all, the Pulse 80 came out on top for me. Light weight, 20700 (easily removable) battery compatible, good chip, excellent squonk bottle (without those god awful metal tubes that are still used on many mods) and firmware upgraded already. I looked closely at the Furyan and other similar mods and all had issues for me, rattly doors, hard to remove batteries, proprietary (metal tubed!) bottles etc etc.

As to filling the bottle, I find it one of the easiest TBH and it's great that it has a collar you can grip without squirting juice all over the place. That said, I don't take mine out TBH. I use either the refill bottle that comes with the what they call the High End version (and which you can buy separately), or I have a number of juices fitted with the excellent Wotofo squonk refill cap. Simply a case then of screwing the refill bottle on, inverting the mod and pressing the air out of the squonk bottle, tip it back the right way and fill. Normally takes 2-3 shots to fill the 8 ml.

It's a great combination with the Recurve and for me, other than the absolutely lush Vicious Ant Spade DNA 75C that I want so bad there's nothing else I'm looking for, so much so that I bought 3 more Pulse 80s.

Build wise on the Recurve I find I get the best flavour with a 4 wrap, 3mm ID, NiCr 80 frame stapled alien. You could easily get a 3.5mm coil in it.

Thanks for the tips, Mysteron. ;)

Oh, no complaints, really. The Recurve/Pulse was a combo I was definitely considering. I was referring more to the colour choices for the two rather than choice of gear. With the pulse, new panels will solve the problem pretty easily.

I'm sure once I get used to this whole squonking thing, any little niggles I have now till disappear pretty quickly.

As for the Recurve, It's kinda blowing me away with its flavour intensity. So much so, that I'm actually considering switching out one of my favourite juices for a less intense flavour. LMAO. Not sure if it's the Recurve, the squonking/saturation control thing, or a combination of the two. But, wow. Using a Ni80 3mm staggered fused at about 0.36 ohms.

Gotcha :) Yeah I'd like some black / white & black /yellow doors.

Agree on the Recurve flavour! The Nudge 22 is up there with it too, just not keen on the airflow. I even had to fit a couple of dialled down coils on one of mine (using either straight Clapton or even plain micro) as the flavour is a bit too intense off the coils I use (NiCr fused Clapton).

Has anyone else noticed what happens when you put the drip tips in an ultrasonic cleaner? Mine turned white and nasty....inside the bore, mostly but not limited to. I had 3 of them do this...the resin ones. No big deal because I prefer using 510 drip tips, but still pretty weird .

You know what? I swear mine is changing colour slightly as I vape. Thought I was crazy, but maybe not...probably related.

Yep, so did mine. That's why I put em in the UC.....
Pro tip: the UC makes it worse .

Very strange, I thought this was just me. However, I've also had this happen to my DT for my Nudge 22s.

I didn't put them in an UC, but I did clean them well before I used them, toothbrush and dish soap.

Once I vaped on them, and recleaned them/allowed them to dry, the inside bore of the DTs are coated with a white colored crud? It doesn't scrape off easily. Once I vape them and they get moist, the crud 'disappears'. Clean/dry them and it returns after they sit a bit.

Both Wotofo products. I wonder if it's something with the resin on their DTs?

So, for whatever reason, I'm finding the the vape quite harsh from this now (Actually making me cough sometimes etc). Wasn't doing that the first few hours of use. So, being new to squonking and RDAs, I'm guessing it's something silly I'm doing.

Too saturated? Too dry? Something else?

So, it "seems" that lowering the wattage had helped quite a bit. That's in quotes as not 100% sure yet. Maybe the vapor production is more in this RDA as I'm using the EXACT same build in the Recurve as I am in my Kylin Mini. The Mini I run at 50 watts, the Recurve I have at 30 for the moment. Plus, I read the Pulse 80w over fires somewhat (at least in the earlier firmware), so that can be contributing.

Anyway, I'll keep playing....

Picking up a couple of those 22mm caps. I like the original caps but these will let me use the Recurve on a Pico iStick 75 I have for a really small rig. Currently using the Nudge 22 on that but I like the airflow on the Recurve more.

Guess i'm pretty darn late to the party but i just got one myself and i think it's a pretty good flavor machine (even compared to my drop which some might say i'm married to ) no regrets on this purchase fits nicely on my new pulse 80w

Using a simple kanthal build
. 24 awg
. 6 0hms at 28 watts
Great flavor and big clouds for a single coil.

Late to the party as well .... definitely loving this RDA. Great flavor, airflow is just right for me, super easy build deck. Running a simple wire 24g 3mm SS coil in TC. I’m using it in drip mode but I’m curious to try squonking. Doesn’t have much of a well so I have to drip often.

Yeah i got a pulse 80w with it so i've been squonking the hell out of it but it works very well as such. Great flavor aswell.
