Ok I am very very new to all of this. And I am very interested. I have a lot of questions and I'm turing to this forum for some good answers.

Let me start here. I have been smoking cigs for 9 years. I now smoke a pack to a pack and a half of dajarm black clove ciggs every day. And if you don't know what they are. Let's just say its a reallly stong hit. And lasts 2-3 times longer than a normal cig. (Please keep this info in mind while recomending products )

So I checked out this e-cig thing at my local smokeshop. And I tested out the smoke51 brand it was cool. Just didn't seem like it would be "satisfying". But I opted to try this diposable brand of ecigs called "kraze" it was 30 bux for the ecig with 4 cartrages. Now the lady at the smokeshop said that each tip is like 2 packs of cigs. So they should last a while. 4 tips. 8 packs. I figured it give it a shot. Well I went home opened it up. And within the first 30 min I cleaned out all 4 cartrages. Then smoked a clove right after cus I didn't feel ANYTHING. The "smoke" coming out of my mouth was a light touch of steam at best. And I had to suck on that thing like a pornstar just to get a rip.

So anyway,... I live in the usa. California. And my gf wanted to order me the crown7 hydro kit. But after watching some review vids on it. I figured id dig deeper into some reseach before blowing her money on a p.o.s. for me.

So in all reality. I would love if someone could point me in the right direction. I'm looking for a hard hitting. THICK vapor. High nicotien content long lasting ecig. Again. I was a HUGE hit. I head about the screwdriver. But it seems bulky and I read that it lasts like 6 hits before It needs to be refilled. I personally like black pen style ecigs just for the look. But I would much rather have quality of hit over looks anyday.

So I guess the big question is. What ecig out there will cover these demands ?

1, huge vape hit
2, refilable cartrages
3, decent lasting battrie
4, somthing that will meet my pack and a half clove smoking addiction with minimal fuss.

Thanks in advance for all your help!

-newbie (hope to join the e-cig trend!)

your best bet is to go to the reviews subsection and start reading and watching videos. no one can really say what is going to be the best match for you, since everyone is different.

i've had good luck with a 901 model, they have pretty good battery life and produce great vapor. carts are refillable, but pretty much all carts are. "pretty much" but not every model ecig is refillable. your standard generic type ones are, like the 401, 801, 901, 510.

401 has amazing battery life, and to me personally, felt more like a real cigarette. 901 is just a thicker taste and vapor. i've not tried an 801 or a 510, but reviews say 510 batteries are pretty weak, and the 801 batteries don't last too long either, but both are crowd favorites.

901 is pretty standard, and may be the most popular model, but that's just guessing.

and yeah, don't let ANYONE tell you a cartridge will last any longer than 2-5 cigarettes because that's just a blatant lie.

DcMagic....I don't own one, but from who I know and what I've seen here, I think the Janty Stick might work best for you. I believe it hits all your demands, which includes good use of carts. The SD, Prodigy, and GG would also likely be good, but I believe those are better for dripping (someone else would have to pipe in to confirm).

I personally own the 510 & 801 manual switch versions and the 901. You will get the best hit and vapor from manual switches. I use both by 510 & 801 extensively and they both provide good vapor and a decent throat hit. I guess it might also depend on how much you are looking to spend and I would say anything I've listed here is likely much better than the ones you have already tried (IMO). :)

Heyas DcMagic,
I've only been trying out e-cigs for about a month-ish now, but so far I've tried a few, the Smoking Everywhere one, the DSE901, and the 801. Each was progressively better than the other in terms of vapor production to me...I also noticed that I got a lot more vapor in general using a USB passthrough compared to batteries.

Then I got a JantyStick and loved it due to the amount of vapor and the flavor was much better, plus the battery life was good.

And then I got a Screwdriver and stopped using the JantyStick. For me anyways, the Screwdriver provides the most amount of smoke with the least amount of suction. The JantyStick works pretty good as well, but requires for me to have to suck in harder than with the Screwdriver.

For the throat hit part, definitely go with blank self-fillable cartridges and try differing strengths of eliquid. The higher nic ones (36mg) are actually a bit harsh for my own throat, but then again I smoked American Spirit Lights mostly...that combo of a Screwdriver and a high nic fluid should do well for you.

Anyways, just my opinion based on my own experiences in the past month or so.

This is what I have learned about throat hit. It depends on two factors. The nicotine content AND the heat of the atomizer.

The nicotine part is easy, just get some strong e-liquid. Personally I do not like to use higher than 24mg strength but you might try 36mg since it does seem to provide a good amount more kick than 24mg. You can get USP grade ingestable vegetable glycerin or USP grade ingestable propylene glycol to cut the liquid and make it weaker of you find it to be to strong. This will reduce the flavor of the e-liquid as well so mix it a little bit at a time to be sure not to cut the flavor down to much.

The heat of the atomizer is not such an easy thing to sort through. Not all atomizers perform equally. A 901 atomizer does not get as hot as a 510 atomizer but a 510 atomizer does not get as hot as ANY atomizer being used with increased voltage.

To make that perfectly clear, if I were to use a 901 atomizer connected to a standard 901 battery, running at average 3.7v, it produces good throat hit. However if I take that very same atomizer and put it on a higher voltage power source it will provide GREAT throat hit.

The models that use increased voltage do not look like traditional tobacco cigarettes. If you are really hell bent on that form factor then you would be hard pressed to find something better than the 510 with manual batteries. If you can live with a larger form factor then I would be inclined to say look into the Prodigy or the GG.

Prodigy info can be found on the Pure Smoker forum and the GG has a forum titled The GG.

Best of hope to you and reserch wisely, the higher voltage e-cigs are not cheap so you really want to be happy with the choice before you place an order.

If you want huge throat hit, decent flavor, and lots of vapour then the only e_cigs I could recommend would be the following:

Dura c 510 otherwise known as the Yeti/Titan - basically any ecig that says 510 after it.
Janty Stick
Screwdriver

Get one of those - i fyou get the 510 you must buy a USB passthrough with it (for vaping at home).

Get some 36mg e_liquids the only ones you should bother with are these:

Virginia
Marlborough
RY4
State Express

I say the RY4 which is very, very sweet because it gives a nice thick smoke and is ideal for mixing with ANY of the other liquids - just try putting 20% RY4 in with any of those other tobacco flavours and it'll produce a really nice, thick vapour.

The taste will be sweeter than you are used to with regular cigs, but see it as switching brands and you'll get used to it.

If you want to give up analogues then do what I did, buy a pack of ciggs that you hate. I can't stand menthol, so I bought a pack of menthols. Then if I craved an analogue I'd have to smoke a menthol - it was horrible, I didn't finish the pack and I've been smoke free since :)

Quite a few people seem to go that way.

It's hard to find everything you need in one model. I have a 901, 401, 801 and 510. The 901 is most flavorful, the 401 lasts the longest and is easiest to drip juice on, and the 510 kicks out the vapor like a tire fire, but it's battery life is truely pitiful. The 801 holds the most juice, has better battery life, but is overall bulkier.

Basically, you have your atomizer/mouthpiece, your battery and your juice. The batteries that look like cigarettes are more expensive and dont last as long. They tend to feel more like smoking a cigarette, though. The Screwdriver, Janty Stick and GG use less expensive batteries that tend to hold thier charge better. In the end, the savings in battery cost will pay you back for the higher initial outlay. Passthoughs are nice if your sitting at the computer,,, but you got that cord attached.

It's really hard to make a recommendation,,, ultimately, you are gonna want to get different options as you get into it more. It seems to happen to everyone,,, lol.

I think from what you said about yourself,, I would say, go over to eastmall's site, Pick up an 801, and extra atomizer, a USB passthrough, and 100 ml of 18 mg clove juice. I think you'd be pretty happy with that.

I have a friend who is a clove lover, and she loves thier clove juice. I think it's pretty good, too, but I'm more a Grape or RY4 type of guy,, lol.

Eastmall is a good place to get clove juice,,, they have decent prices, but the shipping is $15. If your gonna order some juice, might as well get a deal on some other goodies while you're there. I'm sure of this, you'll like the 801 better than what you have. You may end up with a screwdriver or janty stick at some point.

You could also get a 510 with a PCC and a passthrough. I think you'd like that, too.

Or,,,,, you could think about a pipe, if your comfortable with that.

Confusing, I know,,, but you asked for honest help. There's no single answer.

510 Titan with the PCC ( pack charger), then you don't have to worry about battery going dead like all the posts talk about. I use CAMEL ( which is a good throat hit, but almost harsh ) so I mix with 555, and it's real good. The 555 flavor alone doesn't produce a throat hit for me in the Joy 510 (Titan), but the Camel does very nice. All others I've tried don't compare and would not keep me off the occasional analog, but the 510 would.
So from what I've noticed, the throat hit is caused mostly by the liquid you decide to use. True the hotter atomizer helps but even so it doesn't help as much as liquid does or else I'd get more throat hit with 555 but no, it's the same. Find out which are the most HARSH liquids. I hear the CIGAR one is wicked -and if u smoke cloves, u need wicked. Anyone want to publish a WICKED HIT thread?

No matter what, don't give up on the E-Cigs, because if they don't have what you need now, they will in a few months or a year from now - will keep getting better.

I have a 901, 401, 801, 510 and J118. The latest 2 are my newest and favs. The 510 is the best hitting of the bunch, but I personally find the manual battery a bit annoying. I use the 510 a lot, but the J118 is right up there close to the hit of the 510 and I'm using auto batteries with the J118, so I find myself going to the J118 most. It has a easy draw, holds a little bit more liquid than the 510 and hits almost as strong as the 510. You can pick up a J118 (or VX2) very reasonably priced with a PCC included. There are some very good clove liquids and you could also get a stronger tobacco flavor like hilton or kent and mix with your clove liquid to make it hit a bit harder. I sometimes find the clove flavor by it's self it a bit too sweet.

Just a note on manual vs auto batteries....if you are a "hands free" smoker you will be irritated at the manual battery b/c you have to press the button. I never smoked analogs hands free (or just holding it with my mouth) but since I've been vaping, I find myself doing this.....so if I'm typing and go to take a draw....nothing....Oh yeah, gotta press that button. On the other hand, if you happen to work or spend a lot of time outdoors, the auto batteries are very sensitive and the wind will give you major headaches with auto batteries. It's impossible for me to use my J118 in our boat, even at an idle (although they are now making manual batteries for it and I plan on picking up a couple for outdoor activites)....so I recommend you get something you can use manual batteries with if you are doing anything outdoors where the wind could be a factor.

Also a passthrough is a must if you are at your computer much during the day.
