For the past week or so, if anyone has picked up on it or not, I have been using the term "Nicquid" over "e-liquid" exclusively. I find nicquid to roll off the tongue better than e-liquid and I think it better describes the contents of the liquid being as the word is simply Nicotine + Liquid = Nicquid. I am not sure if it has been brought up before but I did infact think of the word myself, though I'm probably not the first to put two and two together.
I like the term because it is so straightforward as I stated before, what we vape is literally Nicotine liquid, so why not use a term that directly represents it, unlike E-liquid, which sounds more like your are vaping batteries or something in my opinion. Another reason I like to term because nicquid has another name which is dislike very much, that name is "juice". Though to some it may be "juice" but when said around a small child like, "where is daddy's juice?", or "I can't wait to try this new juice", it sounds appealing to a small child. Children like juice, so I can see how a child may be excited to try "daddys (or mommys, or sissys, or whoevers) new "juice". It is just an accident waiting to happen, and something that the FDA could just jump on. The headline would read something like "Child dies from drinking Nicotine liquid because he thought it was JUICE".
I think that the word "Nicquid" just makes more sense in all aspects. It is straight-foward, states the contents of the bottle, sounds less weird in person, and may detour kids from thinking that your nicquid is actually a delicious juice when you say, "wow this juice is so good!".
On that note, I would like to get the ball rolling on the usage of the word "Nicquid" as the new term for e-liquid. Though it may be a slow transition, and people will still call it what they want, I feel like it would be less of a hazard to children, and also it just sounds better and I'm sure people would agree. I always felt awkward when talking to somebody about vaping that this bottle here was my e-liquid, and they would be like, "what is that?" , then I would have to go a step further to explain that it is nicotine liquid. The word Nicquid could be picked up on much easier by the noobie or person you would like to begin consuming liquid nicotine, rather than filthy cigarettes.
I had posted this a week or so ago in general discussion originally titled "Niquid" Which is the reason for the poll. The discussion was between the spellings being "Niquid" (no C) and "Nicquid"
The poll will decide the spelling and hopefully can lower the confusion level should this word catch on, which I hope it will! Vote away!
