Would you start smoking cigarettes again if there was some new technology/magic discovered that eliminated every single negative health consequence of smoking?

They would still smell and taste the same. The magic potion is free and has no side effects.

EDIT: The cigarettes would cost the same as vaping now too. :)
No. I'll never get back into inhaling anything that was burned.

Don't kid yourselves .. most of us, myself included, are one battery charge away from buying a pack .. the real question is "If the PV suddenly disappeared forever, would you start back up with analogs" ..

Hmmm.... I did like smoking. No PV. Probably buy a pack again. No health issues. Yup I may do both. I would be a Smokin Hot Vapor Guy.

NO id never go back. I enjoy vaping.
Even if a magic potion made analogs ok I couldnt do that to myself after what ive gone threw getting of them.
I hate the taste of tobacco I cant even vape the juices that taste like tobacco. They would have make a Razberry cheese danish analog that had no taste of tobacco, no way they could do that. So a thousand times NO.

No I would not. The smell of a cig is now sickening to me. And I do not want to ever smell like that again. It was not just the possibility of cancer that made me want to quit. It was also knowing that my wife and children had to deal with the terrible smell on my clothes. My wife would not even kiss me good night after I smoked before bed. Much less anything else. ;)

My desire for a cigarette is nil at this point. If they were the healthiest thing on the planet but I had to smell like that again and have that taste in my mouth I would pass them up without a thought.

Ok,, being honest with myself, if it was as the op posted,, I would. I mean,, I was a smoker for a long time and the reasons I quit were health and cost... yes, they smelled terrible, and at times, tasted quite bad too,, but at those odd moments, especially upon opening a fresh pack, at the first drag, imo they tasted good too... So yeah, if they were cheap and harmless I would have a smoke every now and again. I don't think I would exclusively smoke analogs because I would miss my toasted almond vape way too much. ;) I truly enjoy vaping.. now that I'm a few months in, and used to it,, I kind of found my vape groove lol... I like it. And I would miss it terribly if I couldn't enjoy this anymore. Id rather have vapor than smoke now.... :)

Nope no way. I love my hubby but can't stand the smell of smoke on him. I couldn't do that to myself. I have come this far - not going back to the smell or taste of a cigarette.

Yes I would! If vaping was the same as it is now.

Cigarettes are a perfect device, small, light and the .... works very well.

Who cares about the smell, the smoker cant smell it ;) (then again if it was not healthy you probably would be able to smell it)

I think the technology/magic that you speak of is indeed vaping... All the benfits of smoking with none of the side effects! Tastes better, too!

I still have an occaisional cigar on special circumstances (Labor Day/Anniversary/Feelin the urge). I have maybe 3 per year. I feel no guilt.

"Labor Day"? That's a special occasion for you? I bet you smoke 4 cigars a week.

I'm just kidding.

Absolutely. Apart from what seems like most of this community, I did not start vaping in order to quit smoking. Yes, vaping has more/better vapor, better flavor, is a fun hobby, doesn't smell and have many other benefits over smoking tobacco.

Something about the ritual of lighting one up, burning tobacco, and even the smell (for me it's fine) is a deeply satisfying and even a romantic process for me. I will most likely never quit smoking. Even if I smoke only one cigarette a month, it will always be a part of my life.

As for people attempting to smoking again and not liking the taste, I never had that problem with my beloved American Spirit Blacks or Lucky Strikes.

Cheers,
Abe
