If the health consequences were magically gone, I would go back to smokes in a heartbeat. I love vaping, have found my perfect setup and juice, and I'm happy. But I smoked for years, and sometimes I miss it. Even the smell.

I would just do both. Vape for the flavors when I'm inside and go out for a smoke whenever.

I'm only 2 weeks into vaping and haven't had a temptation to go buy cigarettes, not because of health issues, I knew about the health issues when I quit with patches, gums etc, and still started smoking again..... But because it's not tempting anymore.... I might try them again to make sure I don't like the taste, just in case, but i'm pretty sure I wouldn't switch back. I'm saying "pretty sure" because there's no certainty, but It would be like having found a juice that tastes as foul as a cigarette lol.... not sure i'd pick that over even the simplest of strawberry ^^

I don't want to smoke again. It just doesn't interest me anymore. Smoke, ashes, butts, ashtrays, clothes burnt, smell like a goats @55. No thanks.

Exactly. I'm not one battery away from smoking again......not even close. I would jones whatever, I am not interested in ever returning to that lifestyle again. WAY too much involved, getting, procuring, the awful awful smell, butts, errands, not running out.....such a total lack of freedom.

I beg to differ. Smoking cigarettes allows a lot more freedom. You only need a cigarette, lighter and your good. You can go anywhere and not care if the cig gets wet, or if you lose one or whatever since they are so cheap.

Carrying around an ecig is heavier, electronic, more expensive, your not just going to give one away to friends, worry about refilling etc its a lot more of a hassle.

Nope! Not on your life -- and I value your life as much as my own! I'm a late comer to vaping and I ain't never going back to the old way even if they found the magic potion and tobacco was free! My romance with vaping will continue until I no longer need a crutch and, even then, I'm not sure if I'd want to really give vaping up -- just like the feel and taste too much... :)

Would you start smoking cigarettes again if there was some new technology/magic discovered that eliminated every single negative health consequence of smoking?

They would still smell and taste the same. The magic potion is free and has no side effects.

EDIT: The cigarettes would cost the same as vaping now too. :)

The smell and taste is the same you say? No, I probably would not. (I won't say never though, life is full of uncertainties.)

Man, I loved smoking. Loved it for over 20 years, and wil never be one of "those" ex-smokers, but after almost 6 months of vaping and no analogs, I would have to say no. My wife and kids hated the smell, the mess of ashes, my poor car, all of those things would keep me from doing it again. I started vaping to quit smoking, and it is the only thing that has worked for me. I tried everything from lozenges/gum/patches/drugs/cold turkey, nothing worked like this did from minute 1.

I hold no ill will toward smokers, and hope that they enjoy it, just not for me anymore.

Absolutely NOT. First off, I have to go outside to smoke analogs, and it gets bloody cold in Iowa in winter! Also there are SO many places you can't smoke at anymore, including ALL rest areas in this state. Makes the drive to Colorado absolutely miserable. With my vaping, I can sit in the comfort of my recliner, watch tv and be on the internet.

Yesterday my wife asked me to hold her Pall Mall ultra light filter while she went into a convenience store to buy a paper. I did and it started telling me I should take a hit. My thoughts were, "Why would I do that?". I didn't and she came back and saved me from the incident. I was proud of myself.

I haven't been able to get her to take up vaping. She has an eGo and uses it occasionally when it's convenient in places where she can't smoke. Her excuse is that vaping is harsh. Granted, my vapes aren't her vapes, but she likes 100% VG juices and those are hard to vape without destroying cartos and tanks in a hurry.

Vaping has been my saving grace for quitting smoking. She smokes around me and I don't even think about having a cig. I've vaped for 3 years and gave up my last 6 or 8 cigs a day a year ago. What I found was that once I quit those last few there were absolutely no withdrawal pangs as long as I vaped.

I am trying to quit the analogs and got my new set-up in the mail Saturday. I am loving the vision spinner with the vivi nova. I didn't buy the off-brand stuff either this time. Last time I bought junk from what I am told, lol and it worked like junk. This time I am determined not to fail so I will never want to go back to analogs once I finally quit. I am doing better though just since Saturday afternoon. Not using analogs nearly as much. I actually got a nicotine rush on Sunday and had to sit still for a little bit. I was trying not to go smoke so I vaped for like 20 minutes straight with no break, lol and got a huge headrush and didn't like that. I have some lower nicotine ejuice coming so I think that will help with that. I am determined this time and love the spinner. It is making a world of difference in the vapor, function, feel of the smoke, can actually see it this time! and the flavor is much better even though I am using a high VG. Going to take advice I got on here about trying a lower nicotine with a 50/50 PG/VG and see if I can handle that. I hope so but happy that I can FINALLY taste my juice and throat hit with the spinner. My other set-up was awful.

"Labor Day"? That's a special occasion for you? I bet you smoke 4 cigars a week.

I'm just kidding.

Haha! I can see where you'd get that impression of Labor Day, but the reality is that I have a very gratifying, but physically laborious career (hardscape construction foreman). I think I earn a cigar for Labor Day! :toast:
