highly volotile thread! :)
would any of you "support" a vendor who is NOT a member of AEMSA?
AEMSA | American E-Liquid Manufacturing Standards Association

Im grinning from ear to ear!;)
I agree this thread re: "freedom of choice" v. "how we choose to spend our hard earned dollars"...is potentially a hot potatoe.
Most of what needed to be said, has been!

As I read the replies since my last post, this thought occurred to me.

How many people even know about CASAA before they started vaping?

I wasn't even a member of ECF when I purchased my first kit.
My first venture to a B&M, the ONLY sign that caught my attn was the one for 10% off all purchases when you check-in to FB.

Well I would assume anyone opening a B&M that went through the trouble to research vaping and read a newspaper might know about current legislation and know what CASAA is. It'd be a little disturbing if they didn't.

I'm not sure if you misread my post or not but I wasn't talking about someone opening a B&M.
The point I was making is I, like so many others, walked into a B&M and picked up my first ecig.
It wasn't until I was looking for something else that I came across CASAA.

Which goes back to my question-
How many people even know about CASAA before they started vaping?

On that note, the average person doesn't even know it's called vaping but that's off topic. :D

Yes, I would support a Non-CASAA business.
The 1st time I encountered "vaping" (summer 2009) I'd never heard of "e-cigarettes" before, but I knew it was better than what I was doing.. But it was the wrong time and circumstances for me to get into it then. 3 years later, when many things had changed and my need to change was open to what I thought I needed, a group was the last thing I did need. Finding what suited me was a priority.

I don't join unions, don't attend church clubs, I didn't even register here on ECF until months after I started vaping, and the only reason I have an NRA membership is because I could get it for free.. and all their emails go straight to the junk folder.

I do remember looking into several vaping related organizations.. I'm pretty sure one of the 1st I saw was the e-liquid one mentioned earlier and when I saw the price to "be a member", my 1st response was "You gotta be kidding me!"

If a business offers what is needed, knows what they are talking about and can give me good information, aren't they doing what a good organization should be doing? Being an "official" member of an organization doesn't mean they know what they are doing.

The topic of this thread was - would you purchase from a vendor that didn't support CASAA.

Your post poses an interesting perspective, being like minded.....are you also a member of CASAA?

Yes - I joined over mo. ago.. and a few days ago I attended a local city council hearing that wants to ban e-cigs..
I spoke and had handed out many Casaa documents for the each of the board members to read..
They responded positively, I think they just don't get enough info or viewpoints from the average Joe.
I was the "only" one who spoke and only 2 other vapers attended..
We do need to be vocal on this issue, gain support, because the forces against us, are too many to sit back..

I had the wrong info and went in the morning. I had another commitment that evening or I would have attended and spoken.
Did they table the ban and just do the ban on minors? Or are they preparing to revisit the whole thing in November?

Very surprised there hasn't been more input from other members who are CASAA supporters. Interesting.
