I don't have to use WTA to not "chain vape" and I think you'd find that you don't either if you simply give it a chance

Hey fellow bassist...

I am not following your groove here? Which key are you in? Are you responding to my quote, or agreeing with it? I can't really tell. Oh, and what kind of bass ya' got?

Warwick!
I love the SOUND OF WOOD!

I can't recall who I was responding too I just remember this thread from awhile back people claiming eliquid was missing something
I felt that way too until I COMPLETELY quit smoking and I got used to it..... I just gave it a chance
I know lots of other people that did too! I don't like the idea of putting other stuff in my eliquid.... when I quit smoking I wanted to quit putting as many of those ingredients as I could!!

Don't want to come across negatively, don't know what key I'm in but I'm avoiding the brown note!!

Warwick? Nice! I got a 78' P-bass and an 2010 American J Standard.

Just so you know, WTA is not something added to the juice. There is a lot of info already covered in this thread and I am not well versed enough in the topic to explain. However, WTA juices are a sliver, at best, of the juices available. I only vaped nic only juices for up to two years, but I never could shake the desire for a cigarette. Vaping a lot or a little, still had the same ill effects on me---that is, until I tried WTA. Hey, just like you said in your previous post

simply give it a chance

or not. But, I am telling you that WTA is not what you are thinking, and it has helped many when regular nic juice could not. If you haven't read this http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-e-liquid-discussion/230570-wta-e-liquid-issues.html, spend some time with it. WTA has helped ME. ;)

My subjective experience and opinion on WTA is this: WTAs may very well be harm-reduction chemicals built-in to tobacco plants, in order to trigger self-moderation of nicotine consumption by increasing the efficacy of nicotine (though it could be argued this is the plant's mechanism to discourage animals from eating it). I can't say for certain, but I know that it makes me feel less anxious, less tense, my joints ache less than usual, and I'm more focused- all without having to puff on a cigarette to receive the same benefit.

...

As an interesting side note, I was in GNC a few days ago, and noticed a supplement designed to help stave off inflammation (Anatabloc) for a large sum of money (somewhere between $75-100). I looked at it, one of the minor tobacco alkaloids (anatabine) was the main ingredient. The manufacturer says that it (the alkaloid) is apparently, "found in many peppers, eggplants and green tomatoes."

Hi Brobdingnagian,

Interesting you mention less aches in joints. I was doing some reading up on the Anatabloc stuff you also mention and there are some posts where they have compiled lists of health conditions that people have reported getting relief from after using that substance and the list is as long as my arm! (see http://www.rosaceagroup.org/The_Rosacea_Forum/showthread.php?25323-Anatabloc ) I wouldn't want this to progress into a discussion about Anatabloc, as they seem to be having their own "online" fun and games - mainly to do with the company behind it's structure and the carying out of studies regarding the claims of anti-inflamitory benefits, but as you pointed out anatabine is an alkaloid which is known to be in tobacco.

As there have been some reports from people that smoking tobacco gave them relief from various ailments (although smoking of course is vastly unhealthy in itself) I am wondering if there may be other unforseen benefits arising from using WTA - ingested as a vapour, other than giving people who want to quit inhaling burning tobacco (and find that hard to do in other ways) a path to harm minimization. In the future more may become apparent!

The other ingredients that you mention are not the problem with smoking as far as health goes. It's the smoke that does the negative thing, not tobacco. The decades of research on Swedish snus has shown us that there are ways of using tobacco that dramatically reduce the harm.

You may personally want to get away from..... the other stuff, and by that I assume you mean the minor alkaloids, but some of us do not. From a health prospective there is no reason to.

Yes, many people have been able to quit smoking with the straight de-natured nicotine (I just made up that term), but a certain percentage are simple not able to do so. You may have to get past the idea that if it worked for you it will work for everyone. It simple isn't true and there is plenty of evidence to show that.

You really don't need to have nicotine in your liquid to avoid "chain vaping" and I think if you give it a chance you'll find it's just as effective. Regular 0 nic liquid works for thousands. I've also heard cold turkey is very effective.

What is the real fear with WTA? Someone break it down in psychological terms. I mean, I get the apprehension and all...but, is there some Truth or Dare campaign out there scaring people or something?

p.s. When I wrote "Truth or Dare" I was talking about the anti drug and anti smoking campaigns Truth and D.a.r.e...I read it back as truth or dare, like:blink::confused::laugh:

Mr M, I really believe the negativity stems from the long term war on smoking that turned into the the attack on the tobacco industry to promote the pharma industry. Most haven't lived the history where instead of pharma industry advertising everywhere we looked, it was tobacco industry advertising. They used doctors to sell cigarettes and it wasn't out of place to have ash trays in their offices or for them to light up.

Once pharma started coming up with products, they needed the disease to treat, hence the war. You take 40-50 years of escalating propaganda against the tobacco industry and their products, that happened to contain the active ingredient in the pharma industry's "cure", nicotine, and you have a lot of sneaky tricks. The fact that nicotine is starting to get negative studies doesn't surprise me. It really shouldn't surprise anyone. The pharma industry is moving toward other "life saving" products to fight the "worldwide epidemic" of the "number one cause of preventable disease and death".

There has been a lot of fear mongering (BT adds ingredients to make their product more addictive) over the years and BP has done a great job of creating fear and loathing in the minds of their target market- the smoker. The E cig and the tobacco industry's move into a much safer product line has and will continue to generate new approaches to discourage tobacco use and to get individuals to use a pharma solution.

So how does a smoker look at himself today? He/she has been banned from smoking indoor publicly in most locations, starting to see they can't smoke outdoors, can't live certain places or get jobs in certain businesses, get taxed to the extreme and vilified as a burden to society. An environment such as this creates a lot of self loathing. Which brings us back to WTA in particular and the psychology of the ex-smoker.

Those that quit cold turkey have found the way. The Carrs and Politicos of the world believe that is the best and only way to acceptance in the new world. The Quit Smoking Message Board has fanatics that insist that quitting smoking means stopping inhaling the smoke AND stopping nicotine use. Those that quit with pharma products think using tobacco products of any type is wrong, even when they continue using pharma products to stay quit. Of course those that quit by using E cigs look at adding mysterious ingredients they never heard of is wrong. I know how negative I was on smokeless tobacco until a few individuals on here got me interested and I did a lot of research. I was well educated by the anti tobacco industry that smokeless was worse than smoking. Right!

Now not everyone looks at the world as I've described above. Many, many are just happy that they were able to quit smoking and are happy for anyone that finds a way to quit. I personally feel whatever works is good enough for me. I'll never look down on someone that continues smoking. They are a brave and discriminated against lot. No need to add any more pressure.

Interesting points. I agree with most of it. Are you saying that big pharma is responsible for smearing WTA or just ecigs in general?

I think it has more to do with existing niquid vendors being afraid they'll be put out of business if WTA catches on.

Doesn't make sense since the suppliers of WTA juice now sells WTA extract that other vendors can add to their juice
