When our kids were toddlers, we had one of these cardboard fireplaces. There was a small light bulb behind the fake fire.

I still remember wrapping homemade gifts by the lights on the tree, and that little "fireplace" light while a Johnny Mathis Christmas LP played on the the record player. Ah... the simple times.

I had SO forgotten about those little fireplaces! Brings back some good Christmas memories for me too.

So who's got the non-traditional Christmas songs on their playlist? Like the Kink's Father Christmas, Blink 182's I won't be home for Christmas?

I don't know about anyone else but it gets sort of sickening listening to all the same old same old songs when you're out shopping for just simple stuff like food. Makes you want to say bah hum bug at times... And that's not even mentioning the folks who act like they have never been off the farm before. "Hey Martha, look at this, there is more than one type of jelly on the shelf". Makes a very good reason to shop on-line and
