Ironically, ours WORK perfectly. We just aren't tremendously fond of them.

But we're non-TC, and the simplest of vapers, so...

Go figure.

Your like me ... I am not interested in temperature control at all, but if these XvoStick clones have this much trouble with the chipset, I think I am going to look at buying either an istick TC60W or an eVic VTC Mini. Both these devices have temp control, but obviously can be used in the regular power mode too .... and I have not heard of problems with the chipset like I have heard reading these XvoStick clone reviews.

But, I sure like the design of this XvoStick mod ... Shame it has so many problems. I don't think the Chinese manufacturer did any Testing / QC on this device before shipping them to the various retailers.

hmm, im not really seeing what the problems are, @Flt Simulation can you elaborate? my 3f clone has been working for me, in tc mode, for about 3 weeks. i would suggest go reading the istick and evic threads. tons of problems. this clone is definitely not "perfect," but show me a single mod that is...especially in the $50 delivered range.

:)

NOT trying to start trouble, and DEFINITELY just having a bit of fun, but might I present TWO?

Not in the $50 range, albeit. :D

Don't know where all these problematic Xvostick chips have risen up from, but my 3F xvostick has been rock solid in wattage mode for the past 2 weeks since I have had it. I have had zero issues with it other than maybe no low voltage warning on my battery. I cant find fault with the device as a whole, its so good.

I have had mine for a month now. I do get Ohms too high for coils over 1 ohm but that is the only issue that I have. Mod still works perfectly. I would buy another in a heartbeat. Will give this one another couple of months before I do order another.

Although my clone works great there are some minor issues with it that I don't have on the authentic:

- sometimes jumps in temp mode...and starts showing the "ohms to high message"
- locking the power setting by pressing the 2 buttons sometimes doesn't work...no matter how long I press them it does not lock the power setting
- "new coil" message pops up alot, after changing battery, after refilling atty etc.. And it's very iffy in it's response to the button (sometimes have to press muliple times to get it to react)
- also sometimes doesn't respond to the "click 5* to lock"...no biggie I just click again for 5 times, but never an issue with the authentic

I find the buttons in general to be far less responsive than on the original...my guess this is where most of these little issues come from.

So while I have no issue vaping with it, it is definitly not on par with the authentic ......mind you it's all very minor, and poses no problem for the vape, but still annoying....
I now strictly use my authentic and will use the clone for when I go on trips/holiday etc....but for $40 (now on fastech with the code XMAS) I would still buy it again.

Pretty much everything you posted (98%) is to do with the board after trying over 200 box mods all I can i conclude is the Chinese DNAs are crapola! All of them! ;)

I personally had no intention of using the clone with the crap DNA ;) and bought it to retrofit an evolv but I barely have 3 hours a week these days to vape! The tricky part is going to be wiring up the switches. Space is obviously very tight in a Xvostick!

After the disastrous Uber mess of the evolv DNA40s a new board can be had for $50 so $90-100 all in and the time to do it.

To be fair this Crap DNA in the clone Xvo is not bad

Pretty much every clone I have ever seen needs work that is just a fact of life you pay $45 for a chinese clone Xvo and $225+shipping? for the original it is simply ridiculous to compare them or even expect you get something for nothing there is always a trade off.

One thing going for the clone is the self adjusting 510 I have a few adjustable 510s in mods and I rarely use them due to them being a PITA!;) Zero, Fulgoris etc

I actually bought a genuine Carlos Zero it was not good sold it bought a clone Zero and stuck an evolv in it job done saved $500 :)

There is a little to much elitism in vaping I really couldn't give a crap about the brand only the quality if I can buy a clone and fix it up for 1/3 of price I am happy.

Someone offered me a genuine Xvo I had look and thought do I really want it for 4-5 times the price of my clone? See ya!

Vape on!;)

Which is precisely why it's marvelous that both options exist. If you're one to tinker, you can save a lot of money. And if you're not, there does exist the avenue for top quality at the outset. It's also a marvelous thing that we can come here and "discuss" all options, with full knowledge that all (options) remain at our immediate disposal.

Speaking of which, and NOT to derail, but (US Vapers) should be locked into what's going on with the H.R. 2058 bill. For those who are not tracking, but believe that everything is going to be just fine, it might not be a terrible idea to begin paying attention.

Please note the "4% chance of being enacted" prognosis. People - this is very, very real. The bill remains in committee, with a mere 29 sponsors (29R, 0D).

If you haven't taken the time to write, call, etc., please do. Lest this all be taken away from us.

We now return you to your regularly occurring (and recurring) posts. :)

FDA Deeming Authority Clarification Act of 2015 (H.R. 2058)
