DP, it might seem that I'm stalking you, but I swear that I am not. I have had my eye on the XvoStick since he announced them and have been waiting patiently to get my grubby little hands on one. I finally decided to snatch one up and managed to find one on eBay for a fair price. I'm incredibly impatient so the few extra dollars are worth not having to wait a few weeks to get it! I'll hopefully have it in a couple of days. I found this thread after I purchased it and saw that you were the thread starter so I just had to chime in!

Oh you just made me feel much better. I asked them about the atty lock too they would only tell me it "should", Jonner reports his indeed has it as well.

I was thinking Evolv released another revision after atty lock to fix something going wrong with those boards :p But other than that TC glitch Jonner was having, which thankfully has an easy workaround, and the occasional dud chip, Evolv seems to finally have gotten it together. Fingers crossed for how the dna 200 fairs for early adopters ...

Drippaboi, I think I know what you mean but just so I am sure (because I'm not, haha), what do you mean by atty lock? If I take the atomizer off in TC mode, then put it back on, it will still ask if it's a new coil, but it will not allow you to adjust the temperature because it's "locked." So then you just hold the up and down buttons for 2 seconds, then you can adjust.

It lets you "lock" in the build resistance so that if there is a loose connection somewhere it won't keep asking "New Coil up/dn" when you haven't removed the atty. I believe its discussed a bit later in that thread I linked you before

From what I hear it's more of a crutch than anything (and for the most part I agree) but it would be nice for when I'm out and about (no access to build tools) and something in the build moves a fraction of a mm triggering the constant messages - now I can at least wait till I get home to fix the problem without going bonkers in the interim. It may have been due to the design of the 510 or the attys I was using but my VF Squonk would drive me mad sometimes trying to tighten everything down just right to avoid this

I always thought it was so you could set a baseline for the TC.
When you put in a new coil you let the device measure the resistance of the wire at room temperature, and than lock that in. So the device "knows" what the resistance is at room temperature.
It than uses that baseline when the resistance increases from heating the coil to get to the right temperature.....at least that is what I always understood

I think we both concur the atty lock "locks in" the atomizer resistance for the chip to use as the cold/baseline resistance and uses it to calculate the TC. But I've always assumed that the dna 40 was smart enough to do this already after you answered "up" when prompted about a new coil, I figured that is why it asks. I know the dna 40 continuously monitors resistance but I don't think it resets the baseline unless you tell it to - otherwise every time you hit the fire button it would take a new baseline reading and use it for that particular vape.

My previous dna 40 device worked great in TC but sometimes I would continually get the "New coil up/dn" message. It would continue to vape fine so long as I answered "dn" - but it was annoying. Maybe as I get better at working with ni200 I wont be using the atty lock much but for while I'm still learning it can get rid of at least one headache

Good things come to those who don't wait for the vapemail man and go down to the post office themselves!

(although I guess technically that means I went to it instead of it coming to me?)

Welp, precisely NINE and a HALF WEEKS ago, DPL ordered us each a Chels XvoStick (Chhh-vooist, or Zvo Stick, or whatevs. Sally). I have named mine "Seatbelt".

What a delicious and lovely surprise that it would arrive TODAY. 9.5 weeks to the day from ordering it.

And it is ALL that and more. It's a WONDERFUL tiny little hunk of beauty. Easy to use, looks great with each and every tank, and hits like a dream. Everything* about it (nearly) is truly pleasing.

Some pics, then a bit of KD report on it. :) I have done my best to show him off in all his transgender glory, and hope that he is fitting for the stronger AND weaker sex's proclivities to haute couture.

Very nice Katdarling ... nice collection of "toppers" all around !

Looking GREAT, Drip. And pretty amazing that the size makes that Mini look like a Maxi. I love it.

KD, tracking says that yours is very close. Fingers crossed for today. I'll be watching. ;-)

Thanks DPLongo - and I remember thinking, " look how small it is !" when i first un-boxed the Maxi

So i've been poking at the screen with my fingernail like igetha69 and suckmymod did and I don't get the play in the screen they do. There *might* be a little bit of movement in one corner of the screen but it's difficult to tell if it's really moving or just an optical delusion. And I'm pushing as hard as I dare to against what appears to be plexiglass

ETA: Still got the swirls in the battery cap though. Gonna get some Dremel felt polishing cones and take care of that this weekend
