Yea my thougths exactly...but she want's to see it in person before pulling the trigger.....and maybe if she likes it enough I can convince her to go original...maybe transfer some off my vape budget to her...we'll see when it arrives

I had made a decision that if I didn't receive shipping info by yesterday (from Mini), then I was going to break every rule I believe in, and order a couple of the clones. In almost four years of vaping, I've never done purchased even one (clone).
I'm not knocking Mini here, as I understood what I was doing when I ordered some completely original before giving it time to correct any issues. But with $500 invested (not counting the third one I bought from VapinArt), for what has now been three solid months (with neither working unit yet in hand), I decided that I needed to know if there was any value to taking a different course.
I've already received two personalized emails. One to answer a question about the buttons & battery cover (they are SS), and another to confirm the fact that I asked to have both shipped to Kat instead of to me.
As I said to her, the devices might really suck, but I can't complain about the communication. And I will be doing a very thorough comparison between the two (clone and original).
I must admit to the fact that I'm very curious now, to see how they stack up. I should also admit that I'm truly hoping to find significant differences in quality between the two. Because if not, well, wow - I might be truly banging my head against that wall. Hey, at least I'm honest about it.
And if my friend Lolz Jim is still following this thread, then he's cursing me right now. And for that, if nothing else, I'd truly feel badly. Sorry Jim, but I had to do it.
ps: I went with the blue ones (both SS buttons & battery cover).
If my GF gets the clone I should hope it is far inferior to the original (and I do think it will be, Chels seems proffesional about his products)...cause the price of the original is about 6 times higher if I include the shipping cost and taxes involved......if you get your clone I would be very interested in a comparison.....
I hope to recieve my original in about 10 days if customs doesn't cause a huge hold up. So we''ll decide than which route to go, will we get her a second one, and if so original or clone? I am still rooting for her to get an original, but can't really see her spending this kind of money on vape gear, and having that much patience And I must admit I am also pretty curious about the quality of the clone.

I am also opposed to clones, and don''t own any yet, but if I was in your situation I would have caved a while ago I think. (in fact I was also tempted to order it as the wait got to me (and that was only after 4 weeks..LOL) but I received my "shipped" message just in time before I gave in.

It was worth the $50 to find out. But, like you, I would have never supported the concept if I had indeed received the shipping notice I was told to expect last week.

Can anybody confirm for me that the DNA40 chips inside the xvosticks all have the Atty lock feature?

My clone was shipped today. No idea if it will have SS or Brass buttons as the original pics had brass but the new ones have SS. Pics look like the original so may not be what I get!!! Will let you know what it is like once I get it. Probably a couple of weeks yet.
I would recommend sending an email to Mini, just to make sure. I believe that all the new ones are the newer chip, but best to hear it from them.
Good to hear! They're all SS buttons, by the way. They confirmed that to me via email earlier today.
Great. I was hoping for stainless. If those are actual pics they are showing, looks like they kept the logos intact. Would have rather that they left them off.
I'm hoping the logos are removed too. I feel badly enough supporting the concept at all, and I'll feel SLIGHTLY better if there are no logos.
What a world we live/vape in, huh?
I'm far from singing praises at this point. At $50, I'll be happy if it works for a year.
And I'm still (obviously) quite torn...
I can only hope that the originals come back in perfect order, so I can unload this stupid brass, then use the clones for comparison and backup purposes only. If they don't (come back in perfect working order), you're going to witness a combination meltdown&depression take place right here on ECF.

Wait a month. Something side-loading with a SX chip will surely be out by then (or very soon thereafter). A pace unimaginable...
Already have a sx chip side by side but it does not do tc. I ordered both a black and blue clone when they first got listed in the mail now.
