Thanks much for the Supporting Info & Logic.
Will definitely post the Results. Think will arrive at Ft. vape on Monday the 26th. Plan to Fuel it, Load 'er up and light the Fires soon as get back to HQ that Evening. We'll determine real quick if this "Dog will Hunt".

i still cant get the atty plate to loosen. it'll turn for 45 degrees and seems to be stuck. anyone with any suggestions ?

And just FYI, this was an issue with the non-working one that I returned. Exactly, actually. 45 degrees is all it would turn.

Unfortunately I have no answers, as it was sent back to Mini for replacement. I would try reaching out to them... (sorry).

I charged my LG battery using the Anker E7 external battery pack connected to the Xvo USB port and it worked. I checked the volts on the LG prior to. Once the charge completed it read 4.2V. There is a small hole above the USB port and once connected a red light comes on. Unlike the rDNA where the light turns green when the charge is complete, the red light went off on the Xvo so no green light. Oh and my battery gauge does work unlike my rDNA40 so this is a plus for me.

The green light must not be working on yours, @NotSoMini . It does work on both of mine. Unless it's just an issue of lighting/angle?

Hummm – possibly I did not notice it. I don’t use the Anker much to charge other than when travelling and on a rare occasion at home. Next charge I will pay more attention to see if the light went green. If it does not turn green, not a big deal for me as I know it is fully charged when the red light goes off. I do like that my battery gauge is working though.

Agreed! You may find that it's a bit finicky (it will jump up and down), but I've found that holds true with all my DNA40's, not just the Xvo's.

I wonder if this is a change or variance in the dna charging boards? I have two authentic DNA 30s devices, the light goes from red to off, not to green. Also in myxvostick, it goes from red to off, not green. In all cases it charges the battery to 4.2 volts successfully.

Also, Evolv's site says:

An onboard status LED illuminates red when charging, green when fully charged, and orange when no battery is present.

I've never ever seen orange- and I'm curious what the power source for illuminating an orange LED would be if there is no battery present?

Never once...

And good thought (power source?).

how do you turn the plate using the air channels. the channels arent deep enough for a flathead..

And how do you take it apart ? Start from the bottom hex screws im assuming and go from there ?

With the set screw installed use something like an old carto that is long enough to go above the top. Screw carto tight then remove set screw.

I'm guessing the USB port that you're trying to charge it from?

Just a guess though! My Xvostick also goes from RED to OFF but IS charging the battery to 4.2v (checked on the SX Mini). The Flask however goes RED to GREEN. I tried to take out my battery and plug it in but nothing happened :(

Evolv got back to me today - they are sending me a replacement 1amp charger. They claim the issue is "probably reversed polarity on the charging chip. The DNA 40 is protected the charger is not."

ETA: Yup. Flask goes GREEN to ORANGE with no batteries installed

Neat- but that means you're going to do the installation of the new board yourself in the xvostick? If you are I'd love to see pictures of that process.

I just realized what they mean about the orange light here- so you're saying it turns orange if you do plug in USB, but don't have any battery installed...USB would explain where the power for the LED comes from in that case :)

I'm still here on ECF... sort of. ;)

I'm lost (par usuale)... why are we plugging into the USB if there is no battery on board?

All of mine show red whilst charging. (Xvos) Green they show, when charging is complete.

The only other device I'm familiar with that shows NO LED when complete is the Innokin.

For no reason more than Evolv said the light would be orange! I'm a fan of things that do what they claim :p

The stick makes 2 out of 3 DNA devices I've had go from red to off
