So true - this post was brilliant @WiSK - I think mini should ask you to post it on their FAQ page for anyone having problems getting a connection on the xvo. It really clearly outlines what to do as a staring point and you're right - the pictures really do help.

I did sent the following email to Chels. I'm not sure if it will go anywhere, but the recommendation has been made. Thanks to the brilliance and efforts of @WiSK , maybe someone else will be spared moving forward. And who knows? Maybe Mini will even find some way to remedy the situation, based on the combination of text and pictures provided.

This is potentially very good information for your clients, and you may want to find a way to incorporate it into your website. It also might save YOU some troubles too.

On a positive note - I got the merkava tank along with the xvo and whilst waiting for my xvo to be returned thought I'd spend some time building it. I have to say it's one of the easiest I've ever attempted - usually I expect to endure a fair bit of trial, error and pulling of hair but it worked first time. Coil went in really easily, added cotton wool and filled (did fill first time with the juice valve open which resulted in a tank full of ejuice all over my hands (doh!)) and vaped immediately. It is a great little tank! juice adjustment is very clever, variable airflow so I can use for MTL and the top fill is going to make my life very easy once I have the xvo back. Have to give it a bit more time to make sure - but first impressions - very, very good!

That's my experience with the Merkava also. It's my first RTA...so I dreaded the trial and error with coiling, wicking and what not. But my very first try ever on a build just worked. No leakage, no dry hits, no nothing.....I was very pleasantly surprised how easy it was.
I used a single 28g coil at 1.5ohm and the scottish roll wicking method.....

Only issue I have with it is that I can't seem to get the bottom out to work on the wick when my tank is full, I allways pull the chimney out also....it's supposed to work by holding it upside down, open the juice flow all the way and than unscrewing the bottom I'm told...but that doesn't seem to work for me...but otherwise like it a lot.

Still use my Kabuki's mostly though....they are even easier  (and fit the Xvostick even better)

The sound of a popping blister-pack makes my knees knock.

Haven't tried that yet - the metal bit unscrews from the plastic bit doesn't it? Having been used to kayfuns even the fact the deck should be accessible is a bonus :). Agree Kabuki is even easier but the fact that the merkava is top fill and holds 4ml will probably mean it will be used if I'm out for the day. Also very pleased the merkava takes the kayfun poly sections as I have quite a few of them - got to love cross - compatibility

I've never had any luck trying to rewick/re-coil the Merkava with any juice in the tank. Each time I've tried, I ended with a mess of juice. I've taken to using a 5 ml syringe with an 18g blunt needle to drain the juice before working on my builds.

I found for rewicking Merkava without losing any juice: first drill a 10-12mm diameter round hole through a small piece of wood. Then you will be able to put the Merkava upside-down with drip tip in the hole. I also had a leak the first time before I realised the chimney o-ring must be stay near the juice filling part.

Awww Hail with it.
Raging Case of the Likeys and Wantsies twisted and compelled me to just go on and acquire the XVO w/Brass Buttons.
Hey, it was the "frugal" thing to do. I saved a Twenty right ;)

Ahh the twisted things a Human does to justify excesses :thumb:

P.s. Thanks much to All here for allowing me to "stowaway" & tag-along on your Journeys to and with this Device.
Thanks as well to Wisk for the present Solution to a possible future Issue when it arrives.

Congrats, Hitcat! You won't even notice the brass once you get it in your hands. Yes, the SS is nicer, and easier, but I assure you that the brass NO problem (coming from someone who can't stand the stuff, as a rule).

The mod rules over the buttons, each and every time.

All the internals are "supposed" to be easily accessable. I wonder if chels would sell you SS buttons and top cap? Seems like it should be $10 plus shipping.

Just found a way to spend that $20 :)

Vapers always DO (find a way...)

I've really been enjoying mine over the past 2 weeks. It's just the ideal form factor for a mod. can't bring myself to take anything else out in my pocket now.

Dual 18650 would probably be too big but I'd jump at a 26650 version. Same height and the possibility of all day battery.

Only downside of the 'seatbelt' is no adjustments can be made to airflow without unscrewing the atty. tradeoff for the protection i guess.
