Thanks there! Just noticed you are in CT. Used to live in New Haven. CT is a great state!! is WWF HQ still in Stamford?? Does WWF still exist lol?!?!

Indeed they are! About 1/2 mile from where I'm sitting, and they're one of my biggest clients. :)

I spent too many nights inside Toad's Place in New Haven, doing things I should not have been doing.

I just bought a Starbux franchise..... jus fer you, F2V.

Ok, I re-read (very carefully) what you said.

From what I see, this pic below is indicative of the way that Mini is NOW making the Xvos, as pictured in the description of the standard Xvostick.

I believe that because someone had some STICKY BUTTON probs (coughcough), Mini decided to change the design, and make an extra bit (that separate triangular bit) to house the buttons, and get to them more easily. That's how I'm seeing this.

We have the older style, on the right side pic. No button housing.

As far as the confusing part goes, I believe in this pic below that you had posted, it seems to me that yes, the screen is shown in approximately the area that it will be placed on the bottom of the device. I don't think they flip it, and that's my take simply because of the angle of that copper bit that's holding it on.

Now it makes sense to me! I really REALLY had to study your post and pics tho! And I opted to stay in tonite, instead of town painting to do this..... ;)

You're brave if you take this thing apart! No way, NO WAY Jose! Not moi!!!!

Sorry KD - I don't mean to be the "actually" guy BUT

ACTUALLY ....

I went through this same angst-y situation after I ordered my Parish case. From the pics on the Parish site (and igetcha's review) I could see the Xvosticks had the "no-triangle" bottom plate configuration - but from the pics that were on Mini's site I saw the "with-triangle" bottom plates ... and I was worried that the cut out on the Parish case wouldn't line up with the screen.

Mind you this is way back on page 20 of this thread or so ... before StickyBun-Gate

BUT ....

Mini is showing the Xvostick, AzBox, AND XvoLite WITH the with-triangle plate. Maybe they decided the "with-triangle" plate is better after all???

In any case - I'll expect anyone who gets one that has the with-triangle plate to report in so we can pin down the time frame when the change happened :D

From my researching every pic of a Xvo I could find a few months ago this is what I figured ...
Untitled.png

I drew this conclusion because only Mini's site showed the "prototype" base plate but all the pics of Xvos I could find out in the real world had the "production" plate.

UNLESS .... Mini has changed it again??

but I'm thinking they might just be re-using old pics for their website

I just found out about this thread from TheWestPole. I've been interested in a mod like this and thought I'd pay a visit to learn some more. Can you suggest a good review or just point me in the right direction for more information. Thx
Welcome, Muth. I don't know that you'll find more information than exists in this thread. Lots of experience, and all good people who will be happy to answer any questions you might have.

I also ordered my Xvostick Limited on the 27th but unfortunately has not shipped till today.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The 27th as in two days ago, or the 27th of November? If two days ago, you're doing GREAT!
