My Red Stick came I. Today and all I can say is Wow. It's solid and tiny, way better than what I was expecting.

Might we have a pic, plese, TX Foil? You know..... just something to tease us with?

I like red.

Motzell, welcome to ECF. I'm sorry you're having issues with the Xvostick. Sadly, been there, done that. But I'm hopeful you'll get this handled and please do keep us posted, yeah?

Even after taking battery out to reset and no tank connected my ohms always read 0.05

Hi Motzell. Welcome to ECF :)

I'm afraid that once the positive pin on your coil has been pushed in, the coil will probably continue to make a short circuit.

If you look at the photo I made during the experiment, you can see the rubber insulation is squished. Use your finger to loosen it up a bit. This separates the positive pin from the negative wire.

As I think I said in my 'experiment' post, raising the plate only helps with the issue. Fundamentally, though, it's still a fixed-pin mod, so screwing your atty in too tightly will force the short circuit.

Hope that helps.

Plus the fact he says it happens with no tank attached.

To me, it sounds like there is a short UNDER that adjustable 510 base plate. Perhaps there is a stray strand of wire that didn't get soldered to the 510 pin and through the raising/lowering function of the base plate it's randomly making contact to ground (the negative side) of the device. Is there anyway of inspecting the connection point of the 510?

Here you go. Still need to thin the drip tip a little to even it up with the top cap on the GEM.

That picture doesn't really show it that well, the block that the buttons are in is polished more than the the rest of the body. I like the brighter look better, but it would probably make it slippery if the whole thing was done that way. It's flat red, feels just like the grey parts on the GEM.

Yes - we've noticed that will all the authi's. We've wondered why (but like it too).

Hello good people, long time lurker and first time poster. I've been stalking this thread like a ninja.

Finally pulled the trigger on a Xvostick. Normally there's quite a wait for Chels' stuff. Ordered a blue one and surprised it got here as fast as it did this morning. Less than 2 weeks so kudos to the team. It really must be a stealth mod because it sneaked through UK customs undetected. That could have been an extra £50 right there.

I was expecting all kinds of problems but so far everything seems ok. Dug out an old KFL+ and rebuilt it and it vapes like a champ. I forgot how loud the whistling in the Kayfun is! I've got a Prometey III from Titanium Mods on the way and thinking about the Heron v2 when it launches.

Really happy so far and thanks for all the info in the thread.

Hello to you, hopeless, and welcome to ECF! Love the pic of your new baby, alongside the Microstick (a device I've ALWAYS admired).

Congrats on the speedy delivery, and the customs avoidance! Yippee!

TX, the blue is quite beautiful, but you've got the RED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Contacted VA today and sent my Xvostick back!
I think it may be a connection problem as I wasted 5 coils in the testing process! Due to the cost of this mod I'm not going to open up to attempt repair and have VA tell me it looks like I've tampered with and broke! I just wish these were checked out better by manufacturer before being sent into the wild!

The only thing I'm kinda second guessing myself about is I didn't send with signature confirmation! I did insure so I guess if something happens and they claim they didn't receive I have that to fall back on! I was also reading VA disclaimer for defective merchandise and you have 5 business days to contact them!

1. Good choice, and I'm glad they're taking care of you. That validates some of my opinions and it's good to know we can have confidence in them.
2. I might possibly be inclined to join you in The Wishing Well.

Anyone who works for me will tell you they get tired of hearing me preach, "Doing it correctly beats the {X} out of doing it quickly. Get it right the first time, and you won't have to deal with me."

There's a sign on my desk to that effect.

But I can't rightly preach to Mini, can I now?

@Motzell - please also let us know how the return/replace process goes for you (timewise, etc.). It might be valuable information for anyone else considering venturing down this road.

THANK YOU! I was thinking it was seven (days), and I need to adjust...

Oh, wait. I guess it's the same thing, isn't it?

D'oh! Nevahmind.
