True, true. Good point.

Although I'm sorry to see you had micro usb issues the same as myself, I take comfort in the fact I don't have the worst luck in the world after all. I find it hard to believe this issue has not come up before though and has me scratching me head. Shame on the Chel and Co. though for not having addressed it by now. It's that type of behavior by a vendor that keeps me from being a return customer no matter how much I like the product.

I'm not crazy about the fact that he's got no rating, and no reviews.

Hey, have to start somewhere lol! I don't have a rating yet either cause I've never actually sold something. I hope to change that soon however. :)

You may have picked up that I began directing people away from purchasing directly from them some time back. Not that it would help the USB thing, but just in general.

To be honest, and I think you're the same, I really don't care about the USB issue. They're always a weak point, and I can easily live without it.

But yes. it's likely a known issue to them, and they've been somewhat less than forthcoming in the past. They're putting a lot of faith in the fact that they're device is truly something head-and-shoulders above most competitors. You couldn't pry these things from my hands, but I highly either Kat or I would ever buy anything directly from them again.

2nd hand? Yeah - could be. The stuff is GOOD.

He turned out to be quite a nice guy, and I had full faith in him. If I was in the market, I'd have bought from him. But it took a conversation to get there.

You are correct. It is a total non-issue to me. I could care-a-less if the micro-usb works for charging purposes as I prefer to charge my batteries separately. I posted this just so someone who gets one either second hand or direct from the vendor is not caught completely off guard like I was. It gave me an uneasy feeling absent some past history from other consumers. Now, at least, if someone pops in with a similar issue they can rest assured that although they wont be charging a battery inside it anytime soon, the balance of the device is a remarkable thing.

And THAT is why some call it, "Tosser" (@pokemom ). ;)

As much as I've "blamed" things on Chels, I'm not sure I'd go that far on this one. I think it might just be indicative of one of the quirks (read: flaws) of the DNA40. I'm also one that prefers charging a batt in a charger so for me it's also a non-issue. I was surprised tho, that after two days of charging, the thing never turned green. :rolleyes:

No no no, I don't think we'll be making any trans-oceanic purchases, DPL. ;) But, having said that, I'm sure glad we did when we did! Even WITH all the nonsense and heartache that accompanied those buys!

And on THAT note, there is a ProXvoStick in the classies right now at QUITE an attractive price.

:cool::vapor:

Hmmmmmmmm......... ;)

I have two VS rDNA 40s. One an early pre order and the other a large screen from the black friday sale. Both charge perfectly with USB and I used the USB for months before getting an xtar. YMMV

Coure I don't hang ten lbs of dangles off of mine nor do I charge them on or even in the same room as doilies.

DNA25 and DNA40 devices don't like any of my smartphone chargers, but do like my Ikea 3-way USB charger :)
