I hear you on all fronts. I lived in San Francisco and the Bay Area for 15 years and then CT shore. You can not live in either place alone on one salary unless you are a high paid professional or are independently wealthy.

I quit for 6 months with the Chantix. Started smoking again and then tried Chantix again and it did not work for me. vaping started as a lark. While buying my carton of cigs, saw a Blu and bought it. Blu would not do the job but google search lead me here and the rest is history in the making.

I am going to be a little pushy here, but hear me out. You need to put up a banner. Especially since you have been vaping for so long and you should be proud of your 10 days cig free. But I would hate to see the 3 years go bye-bye. Wonder if there is a way to do that? My banner with days cig free and how much I save inspires me. But you have been doing so good for so long, I don't know. Would the newness of a smoke free banner inspire you? Maybe there are two banners, can two be posted. I am really happy that you just decided enough with the cigs even though it was only a couple a day.

Those 10 days are something to be proud of and to be celebrated! Yeah! QueenV!

Since I have returned to these pages I found the intestinal fortitude to quit again. Its been ten days since my last cigarette. I was only smoking 1 or 2 a day anyway so no big whoop. When first started vaping I quit immediately and for 9 months. Then I fell off the wagon for various reasons and did both. I never smoked as much as before, but more than I would have liked. I would get frustrated with my equipment and it was so much easier to just light one up. My husband smokes, like a train, and there are always cigarettes around. We are divorced but living together again. We have 2 teenage sons and frankly neither of us could make it on our own.

Thanks Shari. I have my quit banner on my profile page. I like to keep track of the days and money saved too. I like the been vaping banner better as a signature though. I tried to use both but it wouldn't let me. So anyway I just wanted to say thanks for talking to me. I hope to get to know you, and everyone else, better in the coming days. I gotta just jump in more.

Yes, jump in whenever you want. These forum things can be intimidating in the beginning and if you are even a little shy it can be hard to get started. Some of us are more chatty than others (that would be me, the chatty one), but we really do care for each other here and enjoy each other's company. You just hang out and jump in. We trade stories, links, advice, jokes, sorrows and encouragement and celebrate milestones no matter the size. No judgements though. And no beating up of self, you will be reminded of that. But it is fun here and lots of good info passes through these pages.

Good morning friends! I have to drive with only one lens in my glasses this morning, joy. It's fun when you can't see a damn thing and you have no choice but to drive to the eye doctor! Hopefully they can patch me up with duct tape or fishing twine until September when my insurance will allow me to get another pair. Yay for more time off work!!

Hope you all have a wonderful marvelous fantastic day, I'll pop in from time to time. Let's have some funnies today, okay?

Hey everyone I'm just curious. I'd appreciate if you'd all answer these 2 questions.

Did you do roll your own or buy packaged cigarettes?

How many if at all are you still smoking a day?

Thank you

Lox(That should get his attention:laugh:)

I bought (buy) packaged cigarettes.

I am usually smoking between 2-5 cigs a day.

I have had some highs/lows that deviate over the last several months ...I've gone 4-5 days without any, and on a couple of really bad days I've had up to 10.

There's an air quality warning in Philly today  apparently anyone wishing to actually breathe should stay indoors or flee the city
Ya'll can keep your cities I'll stick to my small town in the mountains. We may not be able to get Chinese food delivered at 3 am or have a 24 hour anything (except "Da Walmart") but we can walk the streets at 3 am without fear and we can breathe.

Interesting my banner doesn't show up when I post from the tablet.

I don't see your banner either ... not even on my regular computer.

The NLV Gold and Bounty Hunter (I have already used almost half of a 130ml bottle of my Gold). I can vape High Desert Vapes Dueling Banjos (tobacco) with their Maple Pecan added.

Plume Room Black Cherry Cream Soda, but not all day. Same with their Banana Pudding, Banana mint milkshake (hardly any mint).

Lox's Swedish Fish and a couple of the tobaccos he sent me. I did like the Boba's. His interpretation of the Gold was too mild for me, but that might have been the nic level too.

And random tastes of Halo stuff and Halo Belgium Chocolate. And just trying to retaste all the other stuff. I could get rid of it all and not miss it. I would never buy any of it again. But I am afraid to let it go; what if my taste changes? I don't think it will.

I'm thinking your taste probably won't change THAT much! I sometimes feel like I am the pickiest person ever when it comes to juices (I tend to be really picky about the taste/quality of my food also), and what it seems to boil down to is that I can't stand cheap/fake flavors. I don't like anything with a chemical taste, and I hate candy and bubble gum tasting stuff. On the other hand -- I don't want a tobacco that is so "real" that it taste like I'm snacking on grass clippings (to me, tobacco should be cured!).

So far, Virgin Vapor has the most realistic flavors (except for tobacco) I've tried out of any company -- even on the stuff I'd normally not vape. Their Blueberry Cheese cake for instance tastes like real blueberries -- but something like that would just be a novelty vape for me, as good as it is I'd not want to sit around vaping blueberries all day. Their Kona Coffee Milkshake is my all day vape.
For Tobacco's I liked Vermillion River.
I liked the Tiramisu from High Desert Vapes -- but only after it had steeped for about 2 weeks.

And that is where my "like" list stops.

    I don't know:facepalm: Over a pack a day:oops:
Having a hard time this time around trying to get back into vaping ... and some of my older stuff is just NASTY now:(
I think my taste's have changed due to nerve damage:confused:

Cleaning your atty's, cartos and clearos/tanks makes a huge difference in flavor, even if you are using the same juice in it all the time. I clean my drippers every couple days, only takes a couple minutes to rinse and dry burn it clean. It's like a flavor punch to throat... BAM! ;)

Moral of the story: Vapers Tongue is often dirty atty syndrome.

Naw that's not it cause it's happening with freshly cleaned stuff. I clean them and dry burn, the only thing I don't do is soak in Vodka cause we do not have alcohol in the house, SO is an alcoholic, so we play it safe there, he hasn't had a drink in over 8 years. Many times I'll get a good tasty hit or two and then the taste mutes back down to almost nothing so I'm pretty sure it's me, I've tried different voltage settings and different batteries, same juice in a different clearo, or Vision v fate and the new pro tank, the flavor of some is still stronger in the eroll.

It is more than depressing. I am a tobacco lover. So far it seems like the fruits, bakery, sweets and coffees just don't do it for me. But I need some sweet in the tobacco. Found my adv and have been through about 100ml of it in the past month. There are some days that it is not cutting it either. Like it is losing flavor. I will drip it, then stick it in my Evod. Just loses flavor. So I switch off to another flavor for the day and have a poor vaping day. Sometimes it will take a couple of days for the Gold (adv) to taste right again. I have even tried new attys. Is that called Vaper's Tongue? Or am I just bored with the juice?

That sounds a lot like what I am trying to describe, except I don't drip. My main vape is tobacco, 555 menthol and I often mix a little RY4 in and or Jamaican Rum. In the morning I vape mostly Cin-a-bun or Cinnamon Twist and I really like both but only for a little while. By evening they are all tasting pretty bland. Sometimes I can pep it up a bit by brushing my tongue and a good drink of water or eating something, that's why I think it's a bit of vaper's tongue.
It'll pass I'm sure, but I wish the Margarita tasted like it did the first couple of days.

Are you averse to eating spicy foods? If not, give that a try. I had problems with vapers tongue a few months ago, and have gotten into the habit of eating something really spicy every few days. Mouth stays refreshed, though my tummy doesn't like it sometimes.

It's weird that my banner shows up when I post from the desktop or laptop but not from the tablet, I'm using Firefox on all three and it syncs so I don't have to log in or anything.

That depends on what you mean by spicy, if you mean hot that's not happening, lol. The other strong possibility is that I haven't smoked in over 4 days so my taste buds are in transition.
