Eucalyptus oils have been prominently used in aroma therapy for ages. Now, if they have been able to come up with something that will give the same effect without the oil, I do not know. I would do a little more research. It may end up like peppermint, where some are oils and some are artificially produced and are safe.

I do know that when my 30 yr old son was an infant, his pediatrician would have me put a tiny amount of vicks vapor rub in his vaporizer to help with his breathing. But that unit was placed over 10 feet away from him and provided moisture for the room. And most of what the baby doctors said was fine 30 years ago has all been turned upside down. So I am no expert on anything in that area.

Really sorry for the worry, Jazz, but I know that I use Lorann concentrates for my DIY, because it's what I have available. I've read the thread on Lorann flavourings, and there is a colour-coded list on what is safe and unsafe to vape. This is what I go by when I shop for my own flavourings. Here's a link to that thread:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...rs-color-coded-complete-ingredients-list.html

But I read the Lorann description of the menthol eucalyptus concentrate, and according to that source, it's water soluble, and therefore safe to vape (perhaps?)

It's got me curious, too. If it is indeed safe, then I will order it from where I get my Lorann supplies and try it out.

(It's strange that I ask this question just the same, because I use Halls mentholyptus cough drops exclusively when I have a cold, and, although I know as a rule one sucks on cough drops, one also breathes in the vapours. So if we can breathe them in that way, why would the flavouring used to make them be unsafe to use in our juices??)

Delores, the conflicting information is not just you. I am running into the same thing. All over the place. Several threads will say something and then I find another one with an opposing view. Some of the info is confusing and contradictory. I have been on at least one Flavorer's website and one thing is claimed and I find something different reported in other places. I can not nail it down. Attempts to contact and get confirmation have gone unanswered. So I choose to not do business there. If info is not required by law it probably will not be provided. Guessing is as good as it gets sometimes. I do what I am comfortable doing. If I have a bad reaction, I do not care what is said; unless I see a lab analysis, they can say whatever they want. I won't use it.

Thanks bunches for the input, Lulu. I've been super-careful in choosing what flavourings I use for DIY, and check everything before I buy it. I believe it's just a bit of conflicting information on the flavourings in question (the information on the thread in this forum as opposed to the information provided on the website). It would be nice to get it sorted out as to what info is correct.

Hello world. Evidently I unsubscribed from this thread at some point. Or my daughter did it for me when she was playing with my phone or something. I just know I thought everyone was being awfully quiet because I wasn't cool enough to get notifications.

So yup. I'm bored. And an back to watching breaking bad as we have Netflix again and etc.

So, this was a completely pointless post. You're welcome. :)

Shari: When I saw my Dr. last week I told him about my drop in smoking from 2ish packs a day to 4-5 cigarettes. He was amazed and very encouraging. That felt kind of good. I had talked to him about e-cigs before and he admitted to not knowing too much about them so I printed out some info from CASAA regarding studies and the like and left it with him. Doctors love to read. (at least they should) Now he (my Doctor) is all for e-cigs being a safer alternative for most people.

QV: What you are going through is rough, you have my sympathies and support.

Happy friday? Thats just a bonus. Its my birthday today. 36 hours and ill be at Disney. Still not sure what flavors to take with me.

Happy belated birthday Top, enjoy your trip to mouseland.

Good morning everyone. I survived the shopping trip and lunch yesterday, just barely. :) We did stop at Hobby Lobby and finally and getting the portrait I painted of her late husband mounted, matted, and framed. It was one I did freehand from scratch, started with a sketch and evolved to a drawing and then a digital oil painting. Larry Portrait Final Print | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

Your picture is very well done, but I must rant on Hobby Lobby:

Hobby Lobby is evil and right up there with Walmart. I interviewed for a job in their corporate HQ IT department and was referred by one of their current employees whom I worked with previously at another company.

The interview went well and they began to offer me the job and then this happened:

Them (there were 3 people interviewing me): One last thing, we are a Christian company here at Hobby Lobby.

Me: Okay, I have no problem with that.

Them: (they glance at each other) Are you Christian?

Me: (A little shocked that they are asking an illegal question) No, I'm not.

Them: (They begin to stand) Thank you for coming in today, unfortunately we only hire Christians here at Hobby Lobby, we are a Christian company after all.

(pause)

Me: You realize you can't discriminate based on religion?

Them: It's our word versus yours. Do we need to call security?

------------------------------------------------------------------

That is exactly what happened. It's crazy. Needless to say I boycott them at every opportunity.... still makes me mad years later.

/rant

Off to watch the Walking Dead. :)

I think a lot of what I am going through is just the result of technology and modernization. And a lot of people not taking pride in their work. They are there for the paycheck. That also could be just my opinion because I am getting older now. I don't know. I remember the passion I had in doing my job when I was younger. And it did not matter what the job was. Waitress, store clerk, accounting office, running a small office, computer analyst, paralegal. I had passion in my work. I wanted to do a good job. It gave me a sense of pride. I do not see that anywhere any more. Doctors and nurses with dead staring eyes. Store clerks who can not make change or tell you where a product may be located, not exactly, just the general direction or department. County clerks that can not fix a typo on a car registration to correct what county the vehicle is registered in. Just lots of little stuff like that.

Where is the passion? The passion to do a job well. Just plain old passion for life and learning and being happy and seeing people smile?

The doctor attitude on ecigs has me a little stumped. I do see the tendency that if they do not read it in the medical journal it is not good or they don't want to comment on it. But the veiled hostility is bewildering. They must be getting kickbacks from the Chantix. I really do not get it. Same thing with the pharmacists. Like a wall goes up and their eyes glaze over. I started to think it was me, but now I am not so sure.

I think a lot of the medical profession on all levels is terrified of the medical insurance landscape and all the regulations and insurance cuts and hassles. Out here there have been a lot of doctor musical chairs, groups forming and merging and hospitals renaming positions for doctors and nurses. Lots of movement. Lots of confusion and people getting their policies dropped.

Thanks. Very good to know. I am going to up my mg to 24. If that makes it even somewhat easier, I'm that much more ahead of the game!

Yeah! So I also guess that means that having that last cigarette in the car and spraying myself with perfume and eating 2 mints was not cutting the mustard. Right? Good to know that I must no longer smell like a smoker too. I do smell the smoke on DH now when he comes home from playing pool. It is quite cloying and not pleasant. It is even in his hair. And he has never smoked. This is just from being around the other smokers in a pool hall.

I don't know how much my doctor actually knows about ecigs other than him stating that it seems like a lot of people are using them nowadays. He was happy about me switching to them, though. He agreed that I no longer smell like a smoker. :)
