That is good to hear. Having family to at least tell you the worst neighborhoods is a good thing. Henderson is pretty nice and it is a little less crazy than a lot of Vegas. We were looking at a home in the Green Valley or Green Hills (can't remember) neighborhood of Las Vegas right aroung 2000 so it was quite a ways back. We have friends in Bullhead City, AZ now but I do not think I could live that far out in the dessert. Too remote for me. I am not that type of survivalist, I need civilization around me.
About when are you going, or are you waiting for the house to sell. We ended up moving and putting the house on the market in CT once we were already in TN. More expensive but easier to show and sell. You just need someone you can trust to oversee and have an honest realtor.
I'm looking for a home in the same area, Green Valley which is part of Henderson. It's funny that you mention Bullhead, when I was a child (like 5-8) our family would visit friends who lived there. I remember one day during the summer when it was 131 degrees. It was 130 in the shade.
My house is on the market right now, but real estate sales have slowed down around here because it's getting closer to Xmas. The same should be happening in Vegas. I'm heading out there for a couple weeks in just under two weeks. I will probably pull my home here off the market and rent it out if it doesn't sell... providing of course I can find a house in LV.
