21 here. Started at 18 and the addictive personality took the best of me. after only a few years of smoking everything from the patch to chantix wouldnt work for me. Looked into vaping, and refraining from analogs was a cakewalk. I want to be 100% cheat-free by the time i get home from afghanistan.

I'll tell ya, it sure is nice to see people in their 20s and 30s get off tobacco. Maybe you guys won't have to go through the crap I just went through in your early 50s.
A heart attack screws you up in a serious fashion. I had mine 3 months ago and I'm just now getting to the point where I can walk a couple miles at a brisk pace. I was huffing and puffing at a quarter mile after I got out of the hospital and I was an avid bicyclist and kayaker before this happened.
Yeah, this sucks but at least I'm here to type this.
You guys are the smart ones. If you have other people messing with you for vaping just remember that if they smoke they're the ones being stupid.

I don't know about that. I actually got the Ecig information from my younger brother who had it recommended to him on the shroomery board (most of the posters there are 18-25). I did blogs, but never belonged to a board until this one. I would dare say that the majority of ecig users are 20 -35 years old (aka young kids)
i love that board :D

That colored vapor thing worries me, as it'll almost certainly be used to say "They are marketing to children".
i dont think theres such a thing as colored vapor is there..?

I'm 25 and smoked a little under 2 packs a day for 8 years. Picked up a cheapo KR808 about three weeks ago and got a KGO in last week. Waiting on a couple orders now for new juice, some more cartos and some drip tips. Still haven't completely quit, but in the last week I've only had 5 cigarettes and 3 or 4 drags (my wife still smokes 3 or 4 a day, so at least I'm not buying them with the intent to smoke them). I'm putting that down to my naivete in getting 6mg juice in sweet flavors (vanilla & peach) - I'm bumping that up to 12mg in flavors like absinthe, wintergreen, RY4, kretek / clove and I just had to give pineapple a shot.

I have high hopes for the clove, and I think I should seriously look at some quality tobacco and possibly menthol flavors just as go-tos for when things get too sweet for me. I really think I just about gave myself a belly ache last week, and it almost chased me away. If I didn't have $130 or so invested in it I probably would have stepped away, but money at least pulled me back to the objective and got me thinking logically...not all juices will be as sweet, and I just have to figure out what I like.

Damn, I'll be 32 in 5 days. I would say I don't feel so young anymore, but Since last June when I quit smoking 2 packs a day I feel younger than i ever remember. I feel better and stronger than I did when I was in college. The only thing I've noticed is my appetite went up, up ,and away! I have gained at least 20 pounds. I started going to the gym so It would be a good 20 pounds and not the bad kind!

I recently hit 28. I've been a cyclist for about 3-4 years. I never smoked durin' any rides, but I felt the affects. I did two century rides in may of 2010.. nearly destroyed me while cyclists in their 40's and 50's conquered them with ease. I gained more appetite when I quit back in January. .. but the gym is a lot easier now, and I can finally keep up with the non-smokers who are well into their 60's on the treadmill. Yeah, there's some serious elderly athletes that will surprise you and make you feel horribly out-of-shape.

The whole thing man is the need for cardio. I lift weights with my buddy, and he never does any cardio at all. He is obviously stronger than me, but he will never lose his gut if he does not run or jog or cycle or any variation. Once ya give it a few weeks, you'll be able to hit the gym without bursting into coughing fits and sweat attacks. My cardio training has gotten so much easier to handle since I quit that the extra calories I consume don't stand an ice cube's chance in hell.

My suggestion for losin' the extra weight that inevitably accompanies quitting smoking for many is to do Interval Training. As a smoker, these would be tough for me.. but now they are a little less than challenging.

I will recommend two juices for you to try....

1) Dekang DK-TAB
2) Vaperite Tuscany Tobacco

In fact, I would recommend them to anyone.
But you specifically.
:)

I'm 46 and have been smokefree for 32 months now.
I only smoked on average about 6 cigarettes per day, but did that for 27 years.

I never wanted to quit smoking, except for my wife always complaining about how bad I smelled after a smoke.
I always held the cigarette up over my head or downwind away from my body, and to be honest I thought she was full of crap.

Now that I can actually smell smokers from a mile away, I know she wasn't.

at 21 one would assume others would see it as weird. But the truth is everyone here envies my evo vv and ive gotten quite a few people slowly dropping their analogs in my unit. They also envy the fact i can get my nico-fix in the tent and they all have to step outside.
Cadaoryn I was in Kandahar in 2002 and I would have LOVED to have an ecig and not have to sit outside all day smoking endless stinkies...I am glad to hear the military is getting onto ecig cause they will be bringing them home and spreading the word EVERYWHERE soon.

I'm in training season right now, so I don't drink any alcohol... but when May 31st comes along, and I end up gettin' the urge to drink.. I'm faced with a difficult decision: Bring my ecigs to the beach/pool/bar while drinking, or do I just go get a pack of cigarettes for the night. I figure if I do end up gettin' actual tobacco, it will only be like 15 packs a year instead of over 400 packs. I'm nervous about bringing my ecigs out, especially on those no-holds barred nights when I take a few too many down. Gettin' drunk and losing a pack of smokes sucks, but probably would be a lot more horrible to lose my ecig kit. Plus, I've grown sentimentally attached to my case and batteries.

Chaos, why don't you buy a mod specifically for bringing out to drink with. For instance, maybe a cheap 5 volt box mod. The main thing I crave when I am drinking is that throat hit. I even substitute a chaser drink for that throat hit occasionally, and that is usually enough to keep me from gagging on a double-shot of Dubra, haha. So, I would get a 5v box mod and some dual coils or some low res cartomizers (don't bring attys out when you plan on getting hammered, haha) and that would probably work good. And rwechsler, 18 isn't that young. Your a young man now, and responsibilities will be coming your way faster than you think.

Thank you for the suggestion bro, but when I get to swillin' some cold suds.. I don't want to worry about anything else. I don't take my good pint glasses that I use at home, ya know? When I'm done smoking, just wanna be able to toss it and never think of it again. Before training season started, I bought a case of matches for like $2.. everything disposable. If I go out for a 3 pint night or something, I'd take my good zippo. I'll probably do the same with the ecigs if I plan on takin' it easy. I don't get blacked out drunk or anything, but I like to cut loose here 'n there.. horseshoes, kegs, beer pong, beach parties 'n what not.. I'd be devastated if I lost or damaged my ecig eq.. just thinkin' about losing it or messin' it up will put me at ill-ease through out the night.

If I hit the lottery I will buy you a 5v box mod from madvapes and see if I can change your mind, lol. But I understand. 3 pint night eh? Back in the day I would drink a 40oz and honestly feel pretty damn good. Not sure how many pints is in a 40oz. Flash forward to age 19, and I remember a pint would make me feel the same that a 40 of steel reserve made me feel at age 15 or 16. Sad. haha. I'm sure if I attempted to drink my 40oz Steely today, I'd get sick before halfway through. I guess I chose to do my partying at a young age, so now that I'm college age and all of the kids that refrained from partying in high school are just starting to party, I'm already burnt out. :p
