FYI, to avoid any confusion...

Mike has accepted the 'mission' to head up our transition to both new porches.

Just wanted to thank Mike and give credit where credit is due!

Hi Folks - just a little heads up about the thread(s) moving to a new home.

Today we drilled some holes, strung some wire, and now have some new electric outlets in the hallway. Tomorrow is plumbing day - replace the kitchen facuet. That should end the re-hab of the foyer, hallway and kitchen floor - finally! (except for some shopping, Janet doesn't like the looks of our current kitchen set with the new floor, so looks like new a table and chairs may cut into the vape budget)

So i should have time tomorrow afternoon or evening to create the new 'front porch' and 'back porch' threads. I'll post links to them in both this thread and the 55+ thread in the lounge. When I do that, I'm going to ask Caridwen if she will keep the 'old' ones for a couple days. That way if you want to go to one of the old threads and repost something you can find that post, do a reply-with-quote, then copy/paste the results into a post on the new thread.

The old threads will not be deleted but using the 'reply-with-quote' / 'copy-paste-the-results' won't work on a post once the thread is closed. I though it might be fun for 'you' to search up your story, repost it in the new thread - along w/ an update since you made the post. I'm sure many of us initially posted to this (the to be old/closed thread) quite a long time ago.

Nice to hear everyone's successes with ecigs

Welcome to the group MixedVape, please watch the thread, this one will be closing but we'll be opening a new one.

I've never had that problem and haven't heard of anyone clogging one in just a day unless it's a bad one. What exactly are you using and what kind of juice? Is it just personal preference to have a top fill? I thought I preferred top fillers, but I've found the bottom fills to not be a problem at all. I think we need some more info and maybe even a picture if you can manage that.

Hey - I just find the top-fills so much easier and less sticky than the bottom fills... plus on the bottom fills you have to have a way of balancing your tank or it falls over and all the juice spills out, and you have to have a paper towel to set the coil on or the counter gets sticky, lol... I have found that the Unitank doesn't like to be less than half full - that's when it starts to bung up. And for some reason all of my larger tanks need over 4.3 volts, whereas my smaller tanks are happy to crackle at 3.4 or so... I put a new coil in the PT 2 and it is working better now, plus I put on a new drip tip (the old one had this disgusting black stuff in it - no clue what that was as I'd only used it for one day....)

Hummm... I MIGHT have found the problem (might being the key word, lol...). When I vape I tend to tip up the whole contraption as if I were draining the last swallow from a bottle of beer. So the drip tip is actually the lowest point on the PV instead of the highest... maybe the tanks don't like me doing that.... (geez, I must look damn weird vaping... I need to practice in front of a mirror. No wonder people stare at me at traffic lights...)

Yes, that would defeat the purpose of bottom coils. You want gravity to pull the juice onto them, not away. For that, you get a top coil.

Maybe custom make a drip tip that says "This side up." :toast:

Wow - definitely get more vapor-steam holding the drip tip pointing up instead of down (yes, I'm really that dumb, lol)...
It's the little discoveries that make life worth living.
Big discoveries happen all the time and don't make immediate effect. But the little ones? What if they never discovered that having shoes made in left and right were more comfortable?
What if we didn't discover that vaping is NOT like sucking on a blocked tube, but more like drinking through a straw?

Naaaaa you are not dumb. You are SMART! You actually thought about the issue and figured a simple least-effort solution!

I was cleaning off my boss's desk today and putting stuff into his desk organizer, when I realized it'd be great for a vape station. I didn't think he'd understand my nicking his, lol, so I went to walmart and bought one and it's got things off the counter quite nicely!

Yep, I started thinking about what types of things would work, and then went on an Amazon hunt. I ended up with a small wooden desk organizer.

On one side it has a drawer that holds all the little sample bottles and a shelf over the drawer for regular size bottles. On the other side there is a deep pen compartment that holds pipe cleaners, a magnifying glass, a pair of pliers and a pair of scissors. (Okay, the scissors aren't vaping related, unless opening vapemail counts.) In front of that compartment there is one with tall sides and a short front that works for leaning my vv3s in, and for bits and pieces. I used to keep toppers there as well, but they kept reproducing, and had to be moved out into a glass tray of their own.

The whole setup was nice and respectable looking on the end table by my recliner. Right now it has transplanted easily and neatly to the motel.

As a side comment, I had a unitank and loved it. Unfortunately I got careless and filled it with hot cinnamon:oops:, thus the past tense. I would like to replace it, but am sticking with glass for the time being.

speaking about small discoveries, Just found a youtube video from the Vapin Greek where he shows how to properly clean coils. I used a 50/50 vodka/water solution and...OMG!!...after drying and dry burning the coils to re-temper them, not only do I get massive thick vape clouds but also the flavor is unreal!...all this time I was missing the max flavor...plus, removing the flavor wicks from dual coils really brings out better taste,at least for me.

yes...its like discovering fire for the first time for me.

Hoping for vapemail today.

Oh - me too! (and a new skirt from LL Bean, lol, with some turquoise tights.) Vapor Chef just put out a new flavour - a strawberry, cream and shortcake flavour - and I ordered a 15 ml bottle along with some little bottles of other flavours I wanted to try. Sometimes I worry about the cake/butter/cream flavours but they do state on their website they don't use dialectyl, so I try to buy those kinds of flavours from them...

This was very interesting, thank you for posting it. I have to get some of those needle-caps...they will make it a lot less messy to try filling the bottom coils tanks. Also the bit about removing one wick - I use mostly 50/50 so that might be something for me to try. And it would give one double the wicks, lol. (I love it when guys can just pull those coils apart with their fingers, lol. I have to use two pairs of pliers to get them apart :p ). I took two of my coils apart and am soaking them (but only in water - I didn't have any vodka and didn't want to waste my white zin  ) so I will see how that works, too!
