Research your next steps before you take them. If you want to use mechs read everything about them first ie battery safety toppers etc. Don't buy one and then when it overheats/blows up wonder what the problem is.

SOOOOO important! I see so many noobs vaping mechs @0.3ohm with substandard batteries. The part that really ...... me off is that one of them had that build made at a vapeshop. All the guy told him was, "warm means slow down... hot means stop". So irresponsible.

I started with eGos and CE4 clearomizers, and I don't regret it because the important things was: I didn't smoke! BUT start with more than one battery, at least three, so you always have power for your e-cig. And the most important: have back-up of your back-up equipment: chargers, batteries, clearos/tanks and lots of juice.
Most people don't have the money for expensive equipment at the start. eGos do their thing, do not care that people like myself has a provari-kayfun set-up. Most of us didn't start there (I sure didn't have the money for the equipment I have now before after I had been smoke-free for a while).

My advice is to read this forum but specifically the New Member's Section. Lots of stories from new members and more experienced members as well.

Advice #2 (I know, I know) watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbDzsoODKWk

If you're using an eGo kit then it came with a clearo that will not last long at all (personal experience) so don't waste money on those a** basket clearo and get a nice one. I have two SmokTech GBC tanks and they were the best investment. I use to buy new crap clearos like once or twice every two weeks at $6 a piece from my local shop, while the GBCs are about the same price (minus shipping of course) and last so long, give great flavor and vapor production.

I just bought 2 of these because of the good reviews and the fact that they are less than $4 all over the web. I thought "what the heck, if they are crap, not much invested". I am very impressed. Such an inexpensive tank that holds almost 4ml of juice, doesn't gurgle, doesn't leak (yet anyway) and give a good tasting vape. They are single coil so easy on juice. The only downside, plastic so no tank cracking juices. Well worth the price. Smok Tech GBC Bottom coil tank

My GBC's have leaked and gurgled a few times but I think it was from being left in the heat for a while. I guess the liquid thinned and slipped through, no biggie, nothing a good ol' q-tip can't fix.
I just recently got an MVP 2 and it's mad awesome. If you get one go to vapingme.com and get it, super cheap and free shipping!

Hmm, best tip for a newbie I can think of is not to sweat about when or how quickly you stop cigarettes. I've seen a lot of people that really tripped themselves up because they stressed themselves out over the fact that they continued to smoke. Everybody is different and some people make the transition quicker than others. So my advice is to take the time to find juice and hardware that works for you and take the time to learn how to get the most out of it, that will make the transition so much easier in the long run :)

My advice is to stick with it. I stopped smoking immediately when I switched to vaping, but the first 3 days or so was a bit weird. scratchy throat, cough, wanted a cig ever so often and had to convince myself that the ecig was all there was. I did it though. Am going on 2 1/2 months now smoke free. It does work. You may have a few weird things happen.. I got acne on my forehead temple area. Haven't had acne in 20 years. It went away though. I also started smelling things.. especially someone lighting up a cigarette 20 feet away! It's funny cause now I think it's gross and would never go back to smoking.

I just wish I'd seen these years ago! I didn't even know they existed until the week prior to me buying my first kit and quitting smoking completely..

I'd have to agree with much of what's been said: Research, ask, and EXPERIMENT! There are probably as many vaping preferences as there are vapers. Several people on this thread have mentioned avoiding the stick batteries, but they got me off the cancer sticks, and some of the better ones out there (like MigCigs) are really rather good. Lots of paper towel is a must, I concur, and I'd suggest getting in on an e-juice subscription service, especially if there are no B&M retailers within several hundred kilometers of your home.
