Scott already chimed in on that one
Not to mention that air pressure is omni-directional.
If an apple falls down that isn't air pressure. If a sack of potatoes is heavy that's not air pressure either. Air pressure exists because of gravity, you can't explain gravitational effects by means of air pressure no matter how hard you try so we don't experience gravity as air pressure.
We experience gravity through all kinds of things, air pressure is one of the less obvious and immediate ones.

Before I buy new vape stuff, I always check at least Todd, Trippers and Busardo.
I am especially interested in Phil's Thumbs Down and I decide whether I think those are important for me... or not.
Ofcourse they get free stuff + money, cause nobody would do this work for free, surely not for so many years.

I don't really trust reviewers on YT. I did however watch a lot of reviews when buying new stuff, to see if it's for me. Example: I didn't buy the Voopoo Drag because basically everybody said "wow sharp edges". The Voopoo Too in the other hand is on my list because everybody is so thrilled with the fast fire.
On the other end : Vaping with Vic taught me how to wick, and proofed to me the Geekvape Aegis Legend has what I need.

I watch Jai Haze cause he's so funny, and not afraid to call someone out.
I watch Zophie because, well, Zophie (@stols001 maybe for you? ;) )
I watch Suck my Mod for the funny videos they sometimes have, especially their tasting of terrible liquids
DJSLab I watch because he always has nice charts, and he takes the mods apart so you can actually see the build quality (or lack of it).

Mooch is my only source for battery information.

Oh, and I never buy something if there's no thread on ECF (or a local Dutch forum) about it

I recently watched Phil review a mtl device not too dissimilar from his...he went on and on about the driptip! He talked more about not liking the driptip than he did about the airflow. My respect for him diminished immensely. I don't think he wanted people to buy the device. I also notice that now it seems like every other review is for a device designed/marketed by another reviewer. I consider youtube reviews to be similar to infomercials...as long as you know you're watching an ad, you can get useful information.

I agree 100%, I was watching Not Another Vape Show and someone asked them how to use TC, they all studdered nervously, bounced off each other finally admitted they dont know how. This happened with several other topics they should easily be able to answer and I lost A LOT of respect for reviewers. How can you review stuff but not even know how to use the features? Talk on coils being "the best brand" but you dont even know how to build them (i dont build coils myself, but i dont preach on what coils are the best to thousands of people). the list goes on.

They just seem like talking heads that are for sale to the highest bidder.

edit: mike vapes, heavy metal, tvc, vapnfagan. All these guys back peddle and dance around so many basic questions it stuns me theyve made it this far as "reviewers". Really make vaping and vapers look ignorant..

I've tuned in on that show a couple of times, briefly, myself. I don't get it, lol. Credit where credit is due, they get the numbers. They are very popular. Apparently, a lot of people enjoy watching that. For me it's about as interesting as watching paint dry or grass grow. That probably is not a surprise. I have a tendency to like the "B" side of records better than the "A" side. Ok, that was lost on 75% of folks here too. Ya, I'm that old. I do look at the whole thing a little differently. People like watching them and that is not my concern. They provide entertainment to a lot of vapers. I am a patrion of DJ. He has saved me a lot of money with his detailed "looks" at devices and electrical testing. He provides a valuable service for me. Mooch is another individual that I appreciate very much also. I really need to make a pledge to his channel as well. To be honest, I have to be pretty bored to watch the others, although it does happen on occasion.

Oh, and you nailed the tc thing. I was very surprised at how many reviewers are clueless about tc. That surprise diminished as I spent more time on forums and I got a feel for what percentage of vapers use tc.

but useless for flavor opinions. Juices I don't even bother.
I tend to agree. The old "taste is subjective" argument always rings true. What a reviewer will like, I probably won't, and vice versa.

I did recently find a current All Day Vape from You Tube, though. I was searching for a good watermelon flavor, and rather than posting a query on ECF and waiting days for responses, I decided to do a You Tube search for watermelon flavor reviews. One of them caught my interest, I ordered it, and I love it. Probably more just good luck than anything, though.

I recently saw a review by someone of two juices I really like and know well. The first he called Eh, I find it really good. The second was OK, but is one of my favorites. At least he got the juice preference order sorta correct.

There are just too many variables to judge flavor. It's not only your personal taste buds but the tank, coil, and wicking. They all matter as, at least in my experience, some juices shine with some gear but fall flat in others.

"Not Another Vape Show". Fagan's humor is crude and repulsive, both he and ST seem to delight in causing drama and accusing other reviewers of buying subs, etc. Shame that Mike Vapes associates himself with them, he's a decent enough guy. After they all spend 1/2 hour showing off their mods and attys there is very little content. Much better shows out there, for sure.

I take them with a grain of salt. When they spend 4 minutes reviewing the package they've lost my attention after 3. There are a few I've watched for various products. I'm looking for certain things they do with the device.

If they start speaking like a wanna-be street thug then disappear behind a wall of steam I'm out. If they look like they just did a wake and bake at their parents vacation home, again I'm out. If their face looks like they dove head first into my dads tackle box I don't last a minute.

I think my favorite is a Scottish dude I can barely understand yet he disassembles stuff, does lots of close ups and tends to focus on potential maintenance and durability aspects.

And I definitely like Phil and Mooch.

Do you mind if I ask what flavor? Im not a big fan of the candy fruit flavors/sour worms/gummi bears/taffy/etc or even cereal flavors/cake batter/buttered whatever/cookie dough/oreo but to be fair I havent tried many quality flavors as I dont know many quality branda.

Anyway whats the watermelon flavor? If its like a bite out of a fresh watermelon thatd be of high interest to me! thanksies!

And i get what you mwan about not many people using TC which is actually ironic because nods od last year and now were all "xxxx TC box mod" it seemed like TC was the hotest thing, then came squonking. I still feel like people we hold in such "high regard" followed by hundreds of thousands should be able to know how TC works and at least show someone how it works, to not even know and let alone "review" TC speaks volume about their inexperience and how very little effort they put into their positions as "reviewers"

Hey everyone! I was curious, so thought id make a post about this to discuss/find out people opinions.

What is everyones feelings on Youtube "reviewers"?

I personally dont think any of their opinions should be taken seriously or held at a high standard as they are obviously swayed by money easily, and find them more akin to infomercial salesmen/entertainers/personalities.

I dont mean to offend anyone with my opinion, so lets please keep things civil. Very curious so please let me know!

edit/disclaimer: not saying they are bad people either, or that anyone is a bad person for liking their content.

I didn't read any further than this post, so...

I only watch you tube videos to actually get a look at new hardware and then decide if I want to pursue the item. Better to get real-world usage experience here at ECF once the members have had a chance to handle and use the item.

I'll agree, Fagan is crude, vulgar, childish and far from politically correct. None of these things offend me. He also seems to be one of the few who hasn't lost touch with who he really is. He doesn't act like a vape god and he doesn't take himself too seriously. I rely on Todd for quality reviews and honesty. But Fagan is a trip.

"well let's see.... the left side of the box some real nice writing on it and just look at that logo." "Comes with a real nice charger cord" (yet they forget to mention the length) (Disappears behind a cloud) "and now the back of the box the charger cord comes in." "Just look at how thick the instruction book is". (Fails to note it is written in 62 languages with print so small a magnifier is needed.) (Disappears behind cloud again). "Today I'm using Betty Crocker lemon cake/Jack Daniels bourbon juice in the BR549 so you can get a sense of the massive clouds this baby is capable of." (Drags on it for 7 seconds, disappears behind cloud.)

My favorite part: "So if you want to know what type of battery to use in the BR549 see my other video."
What video are you talking about? Oh and those magic boxes you keep alluding to on my screen? What boxes. I don't see any boxes you say to click on. (Disappears behind cloud)

"So there ya have it folks. You have watched me for 27 minutes and 39 seconds and I haven't really said anything."

Its so true. His videos (and many of his friends) are super cringe worthy. The only reason hes popular is his goofy/self-depcricating humor. I dont watch many of Suck My Mods videos but he seems to know mostly what hes talking about. A lot of them do have insanely inflated egos that they are "vape gods" when I think in reality a lot of vapers loath them.

I really couldnt stand how they take 20 ....ing minutes at the start of each video 'shilling' whatever poor company paid them to say their using their mod, they go through a laundry list of 10 mods and 20 juices (mostly that just so happen to be new to the market) and its like a marathon of shameless product placement. Its obvious they care very little about putting a good, reliable product in your hand and more about whoever pays them the most to say they use it/that its a good product so the poor souls who look to them for guidance fall victim thinking that what they dish out is actual advice.

A couple of them get pretty upset anytime a person mentions them being paid, to the point where their obviously over compensating for guilt and betraying the very community that made them.. ehh not famous, but.. popular enough to get ad revenue.

I wasn't being specific about any one reviewer. I see it in many reviews by various people, guys and gals.

So they get paid? Heck, I want in.... Eh, just kidding. Actually during my peak in flashlight collecting I had some folks asking to compensate me for my words and pictures. I politely declined saying if it's a product I believe in I'll post it on a forum and say up front that it's a product I purchased and stand behind. I do follow up posts as well. Showing durability and issues.

Now it would be refreshing to see some follow up reviews 6 months later... a year later...
