Good Eve.., er, middle-of-the-night, ZenFriends.

Lisa, Happy Belated Birth-Date. You sound a little down. Hopefully, just weary, right?

Jason, big-big sigh of relief that you have another year. So much can happen in a year....

It's so freaking WONDERFUL to feel the joy & energy back in my home thread. We are still here, peeps!

Finally, happy & sad. Got SO excited to hear about the release of the 'special' color for the females. Then I remembered about the Pink Pchela. Happy for you & others, Peach, but it's just not my color. I imagined, just for a moment, an iridescent, fishy-scaled, emerald mermaid.... green.

Sigh....

You know something, dontcha, Karen? No, no, don't spill. You're not supposed to. And it leaves me free to hope.

Good Night, all. Indiscriminate kisses for everyone & the sweetest of dreams.

P.S. Bumpi, I was the last one who was supposed to get a PERSONALIZED T-shirt & you gave me strict instructions not to let anyone know. But I guess the USPS lost it. Just kidding, my friend. I like remembering for just how long & how much fun we've all been having here.

Hi All,

Been lurking (mostly) for quite some time... almost feel I know you all. Thought I'd say "hello", and introduce myself before I go to bed, especially now that I'm all read up to this page. Whew! BTW, my real name is Matt, I kept my TalkingCactus just incase I bump into an old friends from other forums I used to frequent. Hope to fit in, somewhere on this ECF monster of a forum.

I think it is because they are available!

Now that's funny! That's a move I'd make for sure. A few times in the past, that I only meant to help out a fellow Webmaster, there was an obvious reason for the "error". Gotta love it!

What I'm not lovin, is that I spent so much time reading this thread (so I'd be up to speed w/everyone), that I missed out on the blemished cobalts :-( That was one heck of a good deal! But I really like the original finish better, like the BAM. Hope to get my first Zen soon...

Coming by to say hi, haven't dropped by this thread much but seeing as I ordered my third zen yesterday (camo sidewinder) to join the standard #0149 I got in the mail yesterday and my ZAGGTS that's my carry out. I think it's time to at least say hi here. I do see lots of friends here already though :p

also wanted to ask a couple questions:

do the efest 18350's fit the sidewinder or do I need to go get some AW's?

is there a glass tank that fits the sidewinder?

You've been asking for one of those Mean Green ones for a while -- can you just get one redone by that anodizer guy? I think Lisa had one done..........:thumb:

Stock current limiting springs/my ones

Ill post some pics of the body once its done :)(

Mike had those springs made to his specifications. He had to order 10,000 to get them exactly like he wanted them as they were not stock springs. Just saying, there must have been a reason he went to all that trouble and expense...........

Good morning, everyone.

nice! where do you get the brass parts from?

You really don't need to replace any parts. It isn't going to increase conductivity, contrary to popular belief. The bridge and the device itself are still aluminum and the device is only going to conduct as well as aluminum does. You're going to find that lots of people like to chase the best possible performance and there's nothing wrong with that but brass parts in an aluminum device are not going to make the vape any better.

There was another member who did a co-op for brass parts to the sidewinder and metered the voltage under load. Firing under load, he was only getting 3.6X volts. My completely unmodified sidewinder, exactly how it came from Zen fires at 3.7X volts under load. If your device isn't firing right, something is usually going on with the coil.

Another thing to consider is that the nylon nut that secures the long screw in the atomizer is a one-time use piece. Once tightened, it crushes and if it is reused, you run the risk of a dead short which is very dangerous.

The stock springs current limit at 7 amps. Lots of people like to use larger wire than recommended with very low coil resistance which can overload the spring and break them down. This happens by design to prevent overloading the battery.

Hey, Karen! Sorry I won't be able to make it to vape fest with you guys :(

Oh and I saw mention a few pages back about anodized pv's and using insulators. The BAM and cobalt have anodized atomizers so they don't need insulators. The MFA isn't oxidized or anodized, it's just bead blasted so it's still raw aluminum all over the pv, including the wick hole. If you use insulators in your metal pv's, this wouldn't be any exception.

I know, Mike asked me if I was going last week. I had to tell him I wasn't. He tried to solicit me on your behalf...I told him I knew how much he loved working tables at vape meets and he should volunteer his services :p You can guess how that went, lol!

It's funny cause I told him you weren't coming ... because that's what you had said at the last little meet up we had at Jim's & Ralph's . He didn't believe me I guess and then still called you . Lol

kiba, what we are trying to say is that while you are free to make any modifications to your APVs that you want, advocating all these changes to Zen's design affects the safety of the APV and not all new people are aware of that fact.

Zenesis devices, as they are sold, are among the very safest APVs made. A lot of thought and planning went into the design to make that so. You are changing the underlying dynamics that make Zenesis devices so safe.

Mike is a very innovative APV designer. He puts a lot of thought and knowledge into his designs, always with safety in the forefront of his mind. They are not ecigs thrown together for the money to be made.

Anyone making modifications to the Zens are doing so at their own risk. You are turning your Zens into 'not Zens'.........
