because i want to get to the spring and clean it. I don't drink, so no everclear dear:p unscrewing the atty spacer doesn't get me inside
Why do you want to pull the delrin out? Just unscrew the top post (carefully to avoid scratching), clean the spring / pin, and run some everclear or whatnot through it, and re-assemble. You don't need / want to intentionally remove the delrin insulator.
my understanding is you can do this on the zattys, just not on the pvs

and what the heck is a kicker? how do you work that?
This isn't going to last long on here, since I'm loving the SW with its stock atty and the XC-116 so much, figured I'd better snap a quick pic....

You "can" take that out, but dont need to... When you unscrew the pos post, you'll be able to see the spring inside that black delrin, turn it upside down and it should drop right out. You can push the pin in through the bottom with a paperclip and it'll also fall right out.

The delrin doesn't need to be removed as cleaning its outside (where delrin meets atty) will do absolutely nothing and if you take it out, you may need to glue it back in to keep it in place...

Its a "Killer 705" - rebuildable atty.
It essentially has a ce2 ceramic cup inside, and I'm running it 1/32 XC-116 wick. It performs surprisingly well for what it is, no leaks / no dry hits. Beats the heck out of any carto in a tank, and you can build the coil to suit your style, adjustable feeding for different juices, etc...

I actually got it with the intent of using on the Sidewinder since I wanted to be able to keep it in pocket without any of the typical genesis leak potential. THEN... since Andy turned me on to the XC-116, I've fallen in love with the stock SW atty again. Absolutely no leaking regardless of position, and the best flavor I've experienced yet.... Oh, have I mentioned XC-116 yet??? I'm running it in all of my gennies now and loving it...

Alright, what the heck is a XC-116 wick and why doesn't it leak in a genesis???

I was starting to think nobody'd ever ask... :)

FIrst off, where is your SW leaking / which version of the tank do you have?

XC-116 is also known as Nextel. The 1/16 dia stuff works amazingly well in genesis style atty's. Per Andy's advice, I've been rolling a VERY thin SS wick and putting it inside of the XC-116 (its actually made as a wire shielding) then just setting it up like any other wick / coil. Absolutely amazing flavor, since its absorbant, it hasn't leaked a drop, and actually even seems to re-absorb condensation under the cap well also.. Safe up to about 2200 degrees so it handles dry burns perfectly. Bit of the ol' wet sock taste for only about the first 1/4 tank (maybe less) then pure vaping bliss. I have yet to have to replace any...

Jason needs to carry this stuff...

Kool, thx for the info. Now where can I get some? As for the SW, I'm not sure which version it is but I bought it from Jason when he started carrying them. It was missing the top oring (some said it didn't need it while others said it should have come with it in). Anyway, I think I found an o-ring to put in which stopped that leak so it only leaks if it is set on the side or sometimes when carried in my pocket. Could be I need a fatter wick in it. Gotta go now, will check back later tonight. Hopefully, today won't be as long as yesterday at work..

If that top o-ring is exposed you have the newer tank (older ones were too tall and the threading covered that o-ring.
Mine leaked on occasion from the bottom of the tank, I used some "Keg Lube" (food safe lube for beer keg o-rings, can be found on Amazon, etc..) and that stopped it completely.

As for the o-ring up top, I use one and it stops any condensation from seeping.
Mesh will always leak juice out, this wick has yet to...

Ello everyone, hope all are well.
Vapor - Andy also set me free with the Nextel recently. I am not sold as of yet but the more I read online about it, I guess I should be. There were a few guys using it in their vivi novas a while back.
I suspect the wicking is much improved. I know Jacoji was doing the same with ekowool(smart girl) but, I think she wraps it opposite though and for the wicking properties alone. Really the only reason I am interested as hot spots havent been an issue for me even uninsulated. Although, I HAD challanges with the Andyman and still have no idea why and since are fixed and it is by far the hardest hitting stock mod I own.
Ill say it, Big Tex Vapor is the supplier. Some have it mixed with ekowool but it is not as it is manufactured by 3M.

Here is great info recently published about our world of wicking and is easy to read.

Give it a good go before you dismiss it for sure. Best vaping experience I've had to date (so much so that I bought a little stockpile).

The only problem I had with poor wicking came down to the fact that I put too much mesh inside and it was choking inside the wick hole, very very thin tightly rolled mesh wick inside is all you need. I hadn't had hot spot issues in a long time on mesh either, but the other benefits are still well worth it IMO.

And yes, agreed, Zen Ti's overall are just ridiculously great APV's....

The nextel looked good awhile back, are there any concern's with the loose fibers coming off and into the lungs? That's why i went with the ceramic's, mighty fine wicking, draw back, they are fragile.

I had concerns until it got wet (where's Ian?). I've seen no hints of any loose fibers whatsoever in any of the top caps, drip tips, etc... I've been using it in 4 gennies for weeks now and haven't seen a thing. I'll be setting it up in the BAM and ZAG tonight.

Even vaping a tank dry the stuff never gets dry enough to cause me (personally) any concern.

The ONLY drawback I've found is flavor changes (switching juices) take a bit longer (i'm not the clean between juices type unless I'm trying something new or toying with a new DIY).

As far as I'm concerned, this stuff is really about as good as it gets. I really didn't think anything would taste better than mesh, but it does, plus the added bonuses of not even a chance of hot spots, no leaking, etc... You do need to run a little hotter coil than with mesh.
