Yeah, I overwick too at times. Still trying to find that happy point where it's tightly rolled.. but not so tight that it's too loose inside my insulator and the wick slides around when I'm trying to wrap my coils.. More mesh, I assume

Also, wooot! Getting close guys!!

Absolutely nothing... yet!
I'm open to ideas.

Also, this is about the amount of mesh I use for my wicks:

I have big stubby fingers so your east / west dimension is what I roll as a square. I'd never be able to roll that small a piece of mesh (your pic).

Okay now I gone for real and for true.

I've taken apart a few of the stock wicks and very little mesh is actually used. I use easily 3 or 4x the amount of mesh. And they fit fine in the insulator and aren't very straw like.. Anybody have a photo of what they consider a "fat" wick?

I'll cut some and take a pic for you.
Before and after burning.

Tomorrow though.

Beef up those wicks.
That's about half of what I use.

Maybe just maybe he rolls the other way and it's just reeeeeealy short.

I roll all my wicks 3.25 L 1.75 W with minimal if any oxydation (better flav R flav). I am now starting to expierament with fat wicks that stick out of the bottom of the atty deck about 1/4 inch and just tilt them before I vape for a split second. I swear I have been saving juice and the wicking is superior. the juice only has a very short distance to soak and much better for me to flip it over quickly not having to hold them at 2/3 o'clock.

Wow, your organized :) I just looked at the Nextel the first day and then decided to start rebuilding mods the next day. By the end of the day it was really getting pretty easy.

My process was to remove the cap, old wick and screws, remove the top o-ring, and then the tank. Washed the mod well with hot soapy water, rinsed in even hotter water and soaked everything a bit in everclear. Wiped all down and blew off the remaining everclear to begin working with the Nextel. I made most of my wicks a little longer than necessary as I figured the tail in the tank wouldn't hurt anything. Worked the Nextel into the wick hole (sometimes a bit of scotch tape helps) then worked the mesh into the Nextel. Installed the tank, wrapped a nice coil, snipped off the top of the nextel, added the top o-ring and fired the PV. Nice, bright, even coils. Added juice to the top of the wick, side of the wick and filled the tank. Cleaned my contacts and battery posts and fired it up. Each one began working well right away.

Been vaping the Ash all day and it is very nice. Gotta say, that 650 bat is really nice as I haven't had to change batteries all day and it is still going strong.

Bb, how thick did you make the inner mesh wicks? Stock zen wick size?

Depends... on just how fatty fat it is.
But usually 2 or 3.
And I don't need to tilt as much.

I could give you a huge hug right now. I just made a wick literally twice as thick. It just barely fit into the insulator. I popped the insulator out and slowly got the wick inside... 3 wraps. No over wicking. This is great. I also took your advice and made it glow once, and achieved the color you described in PM. Thank you so much, Annie!!!!!

Nathanial, Are you talking about using that much inside the Nextel? Or is that the amount for a normal ss mesh wick?

Regular wick, lol
I don't have any nextel. Will look into buying some when work gets off their ... and pays me (they're late by THREE days...)
