Now here's a question....why are you all pandering to your perceived addiction to nicotine? I have been taking part in an experiment and have been vaping nothing but zero nicotine liquid, a very clean one as well that is manufactured in the UK. After 5 days I feel bloody marvelous, physically, mentally and psychologically. I feel that instead of sticking my head out of the door then panicking 'cos bad uncle Nic was forcing me back in, I am now walking around outside in the sunshine feeling free as a bird. I'm vaping much less as the cravings are gradually getting less and less.
So, I say to all nic users, you are prisoners of your own choosing, but all you have to do to be free is just go zero. Nic has had us running scared for long enough and it's time we said 'no more'. If anything is going to change the way ecigs are perceived it is the fact that they ARE an aid to quitting smoking and to escaping the nicotine habit. Here's the big joke, it's so easy doing it this way - use ecigs, reduce nicotine, kick the habit with minimal willpower. Watch anyone who hasn't had a smoke for 'too long' and as they take that first drag there is a huge look of relief on their face - and that's before the nic has got anywhere near their bloodstream or brain. It's that suck-inhale-throat hit that gives the reassurance and it works whether or not there is any nicotine in it.
If any of you out there are up to the challenge than give it a try for at least a week and feel the difference, it's amazing! Those who are too scared to let go can carry on being chained to the habit and please don't anyone cite the 'nicotine can be good for you' stories, I heard all that from dopeheads who believed smoking weed is safe!!
Please add your names and success stories.
Alan, a zero hero!

kudos to you Alan, I am sick and tired of being chained to nicotine, and anyone who says they enjoy smoking or vaping is a liar or fooling themselves, me included!
Try give an e-cig or cig to a non smoker, they will take a drag ,inhale and cough then say what the hell is this for? I am one of those people who is afraid to lose my nicotine, but I will try it after reading your post! Yes nicotine is bad for you, does no good and doesnt relax us. I am also reading a book called the easy way to quit smoking by Carr, pretty good so far really opened my eyes to addiction to nicotine!
I"m a doctor 8 years of college, 2 years residency, I feels I got some brains but nicotine is a very very addictive drug!
Doc
excellent post! (yours not mine)

I think he is right to some point.

Nicotine is addictive, yes...but....

I for one am also addicted to the throat hits, and having something in my mouth for that matter. I also enjoy seeing smoke or vapor anything that resembles smoke, come out of my mouth.

I don't have any zero nic carts, or juices, but I may get a couple to try it out, because like you said, some people are just satisfied with the feeling of smoking.

Do people who chew the gum or use patches still crave cigarettes? of course, but since I've used the ecig I didn't once think about smoking a real cigarette, probably because I feel like I am smoking a real cigarette.

I think you may be on to something here, but for the most part, I am using 24mg and even 36mg juices, with 18mg carts. I think to suddenly just DROP down to zero wouldn't be the smartest idea for me. I need to gradually slow it down.

But it would be interesting to know...... If someone who vapes, was given a zero nic cart and told it was 18mg or higher, would they notice? or would they THINK they are getting their fix and be fine? For the most part, If I switched to zero, I would KNOW there isn't any nicotine, therefore, I would somehow convince myself It wasn't working.

You sound like one of them Antis..."If you want to quit, just quit".

It is not that easy for some. Everyone is different.

L@Walrus

I agree ..it's like the people who quit smoking and then start saying, 'if I can do it, everyone can do it!'.......the fact is we are all different.

Now steady, tiger - that's a pretty bold statement. Speak for yourself, fine, but don't speak on my behalf or question my honesty. I enjoy vaping - that is simply a fact and not a lie. You might want to edit your post as it could offend a lot of people here who enjoy vaping.

I'd notice. I tend to vape furiously to get my nic hit and then slow down. I thought I'd be fine with the 14mg Turkish (which was all they had in stock) but found that I was sucking on the penstyle much harder than I did with the higher juices.

As for the minis I'm changing to 36mg juice to avoid going back on analogs like I did last weekend.

BTW, I enjoy vaping/smoking and have no intention of giving up.

Speak for yourself!
I am currently waiting for my first e-cig to arrive, but I do ENJOY smoking. I am going to try and make the switch because of the cost of analogues, and it would be nice to be able to 'smoke' (vape) away whilst cutting down on all the crap I am taking into my body.

Do you think that you would be making that statement if smoking was cheap and harmless?

I was nicotine free for 8 years. It's really not all that exciting. I would never touch a cigarette, my body wouldn't let me BUT back off my sweet nicotine! It's like a long lost lover who has come back to me.

Edit: I just thought of what the OP reminds me of...it's one of the religious tent revivals!!

Angela, I agree.
I enjoyed smoking very much. The move to e-cigs was an easy one and I enjoy vaping also. Now that my taste buds are getting better its fun to try different flavors and mixing them. I ordered some VG so I will try to slowly cut the nic.
I know that I speak for myself but it was hard to quit analogs because of the addiction and the enjoyment of smoking. If it was just one or the other it might of been easier.
I'm just glad e-cigs came around because I feel they are better for me and my family.

Well I have gradually moved down over two months from 36MG to now 4MG

I went

36MG -> 24MG -> 16MG -> 11MG -> 8MG -> 4MG

I feel like a lot of it is indeed psychological as I dont really notice a difference in throat hit or anything but it seemed like the first few days on a new level was kind of difficult especially going from 36 to 24, I still have some 36 and 24 left and occasionally I will vape a couple hits off it and with one liquid I cant tell a difference at all with 2 others I can tell that i hits me quite a bit harder but the throat hit is pretty much the same so I am thinking that throat hit prolly still exists with the 0 and that I will feel just fine...I still have 60ML and 50 CARTS to go of the 8 and 4 but after that I am getting some zero and we will see... for me I thought it was the strongest part of my addiction was physical addiction but it is turning out to be 90% psychological (thats just me) :D...for me I think nicotine is actually a very minor part of smoking addiction.

I smoked from 1 to 3 packs a day for 15 years, 3 packs a day the last couple years, 2 packs a day for 5 years before that and 1 pack a day the rest of the time. (this was since age 12)

I think especially for people like me who have smoked since childhood that the psychological addiction to cigs runs much deeper then the addiction to nicotine.

A non-smoker...or a reformed smoker who just went cold turkey with no additional help might question Letzin as to why he would use an e-cig at all. I mean, why are you using an e-cig? Do you have an addiction to something else? Can't be that, though...since addiction is "perceived", right?

And someone is a liar if they say they enjoy smoking or vaping? LOL

I've been smoking about 37 years now. Oh yeh, there were times when I really, really, enjoyed it. But a lot of things have changed since then (inside bans, cost, developing that nasty smoker's cough, etc) so I'm trying to move away from it now...and pray to God that someday, I will never enjoy another analog.

But that wasn't always the case, and I don't think people are liars because they might feel that way too.
