Scottyballs, Just a quick question:

On your homepage it says the 510 ZFM carts come with 5 of each plug styles, for a total of 15 plugs. But when I go to order them, it says only 10 are included. Is it a typo?

Thanks, HD714

Its fixed now.. thanks did not notice that.. the carts come with 15 plugs 5 h 5 large holes and 5 small holes..

Hey Scotty, got your H plugs yesterday and they are great. I've tried similar mods with holes and just couldn't get it right. They either leaked or dried out. This H seems to be good. I'm posting some of my findings though to maybe help people understand why it can be difficult to get this going right so they don't give up.

1. I have 2 types of 510 attys. I didn't realize it until I really looked. Some of my older ones are a little thicker on the steel wick from side to side. These don't seem to work well with this H plug mod, but they probably would work great for the holes (this explains my problems with my previous attempts)

2. The attys with the smaller wick work brilliantly with the H plug mods. I have three of them that I use for each flavor (I'm picky that way) and I'm having no problems with them on these attys.

3. You do have to get the straw cut just right. I cut mine where the plug
sits almost flush with the top of the cart (straw is just below the top). I do notice the plug bends in a little, but not much (not enough to leak) and I did eyeball the length of the straw. Now that I have the three carts made up, I don't have to mess with that anymore.

4. My really really thick VG juices (only one supplier) seem to not want to wick as fast as the others, but it makes sense because they take longer to spill out if you tip the cart upside down without the plug on top.

5. I've found that once I fill it and put it on the battery, if I tap it down (similar to an analog pack when you first get it) with the battery side down once or twice, it gets the juice to touch the atty. Seems important to get the wicking started right. Once it's wet, it wants to keep sucking it up. If it's completely dry, I get some problems with getting it to start. Once it's starts ... look out.

This makes vaping a great experience. If you like lots of flavor and smooth vaping (like dripping) then you will love this once you get it going. I tried several of these myself and just couldn't get it right. Spent $10 with Scotty and never looked back.

Thanks for the review Slyice, and you are correct straw hight is very important. I try to cut my straws slightly on the long side for the carts that way the customer can cut if needed to work with there attys..

And then the attys thats one of the reasons I give 5 of each style plug, cause what works with Atty style Y might not work with Atty style X ... this way there are a few options...

BTW is anyone using the small holes? I'm thinking about doing away with them and offering maybe 10 H plugs and 5 Large holes... but if some of you are using the small ones and working good Ill leave it as is...

I haven't even tried the small hole ones since the "H" is doing it for me all around. I may have to rely on the large hole at 5v when I make my very thick juice I on & off with.

What is going to be the need for "more" plugs ?? Is it to go splits with someone, or are finding them becoming non reusable at some point ??

Mine are doing great, and alcohol cleaning occasionally keeps them that way.

Greg

Just make sure you cut only the slightest sliver off the top of the straw as possible until you get it right !!

I only had to snip it once, and I wouldn't have thought the difference I had taken off would have done anything at all, but it was like night and day.

Also, I find that I need to finess the edges of the plug into place so they sit on the perch.

Again, I haven't had a single leak ever since.....

I ordered from Scotty a couple days ago. Can't wait for them to arrive!

But I was just wondering; does it matter which way you put the plug in? Like, does it matter if it's flipped one way or the other?

Not really you can try it either way.. I tend to put the flat side up and shinny side down..:)

So I love this mod, but every time I make one it seems to flood a little bit. I have to hold the 510 upwards a little bit when vaping or else I hear a gurgling sound then I get juice in my mouth...not much, but enough to piss me off. I have been using the H cuts. I tried cutting a small square in the middle of one, but that did not allow enough to go through. SO I am either not getting fluid to the atty, or getting too much...what cut size works best for you guys? H, X O, ? Should I make the straw a hair shorter??
