What fast food restaurant serves up those size straws? (That will fit in a "D" shape tip). LOL

Hubby just bought me a box of straws at the local grocery store. I'm sure they'd fit in the "D" shaped 901s, because they are very flexible. As it is, the inside of the 510 cart is not round; more rectangular. The straws go right in there (with a tad of a wiggle, lol), and take on an oval shape while in the cart.

You can't attach a picture to your post unless it comes from a URL? I have a picture of my straw in my "D" shaped tip, where it will only fold into a round topped "w" shape because it's too big. I wanted to attach a picture of it to ask others what to do, but I can't.

I can't find a straw small enough to fit into the tip (not a cart. because there's no "mizer" in my tip. EG: Not a cartomizer but an atomizer with a tip. Just semantics maybe.)

Click on "Reply with Quote" and then click on "Go Advanced"... below the "submit" and "preview" buttons section, there is a "Manage Attachments" button. There you can upload photos from your computer.

The neon straws from Walmart are pretty standard and fit perfectly, although they are maybe a foot too long :p

This is a juice hog, and it's not exactly easy to refill while driving. I actually went back to the plain ol' stock batting, but i plan on using them occasionally anyway because it really is such a nice pure hit.

I usually drip, but use carts at work. I tried making these myself, and it worked okay - but got a couple of Scotty's H-type included in a trade -
WHAT a difference! I absolutely love them!
I'm vaping some organic toffee from Vaperite and can't
believe what a difference in flavor from regular carts.

Come payday I'm placing an order from Scotty. These are the only type I want to use now. :)

Just tried this on a mega cart, first straw was a little too long and the silicone popped off, lost it in woolie bullie carpet.
Cut the straw down a little more and cut a nice long H shape w/ the center line where the bridge touches a little more open than I've seen on pics.
Works like a CHAMP. I must say this is somehow more flavor/vapor than the c-e2 carto's.. this is truly incredible.
Next going to try on the new TW mega LR atty.. anyone had any success? Different shape from regular carts and takes a lot of juice to run well, think I could possibly cut a bigger X/H to let the bridge wick more? The bridge is huge on these.
Thanks for the tutorial scottyballz

OK.... I CAN NOT read anymore! After reading 56 pages then bouncing around in this monster thread all morning I'm just gonna ask.
Can someone please share a clear picture or something of the "H" cut ? Pleeeeeease! lol My friggin eye balls are gonna fall out reading all the stuff in this thread. lol

And is it still cool to use the caps that come on the 510 carts or is there some new material needed? The only pic's I see are from way back in 2009 on Scott's original post. If all else fails I might track him down and swing by his house tonight and just buy the damn things but I'm a tightwad and would like to try this myself. lol

Anyone?

Thanks for this great cart mod!!! I did it in about 10 minutes, but I didn't have a straw. I saw SteveMontuno's video using paperclips as a backstop and it worked! (I used needlenose pliers to puch the paperclips through the cart as it was easier on my fingers.)

I will order some of OP's ZF 510 carts as soon as I have the $$. As a THANK YOU and because I'm sure they work better than mine (though mine works pretty well for now).

Thanks again Scotty (and Steve for saving me becasue I am strawless) :vapor:on

is this mod possible on a mega eGo cart? has anyone tried it? it'd be an insane amount of juice

funny that you should ask as I've spent a while fiddling with that. The odd shape of the ego mega cart was a challenge but here's what I finally came up with. I used a silicon pot holder for the material and a set of hollow leather punches I got from amazon. Use the 1/2 inch punch for the main cut then the 5/32 punch for the center hole and to cut the two divots out one on each side. The center hole has to be EXACTLY in the center and the two side cuts have to be EXACTLY opposite each other. A center hole any larger leaks like crazy and any smaller won't wick at all. I had problems using a straw to support the plug in that I felt it was interfering with the wicking so I cut about 1/4 of a piece of 7/16 od tubing from an old hydration pack and pressed it into the mouth of the cart and it fit perfectly with just enough resistance to support the plug. Using 100% pg this vapes extremely well but if you leave it sitting upright it eventually leaks a bit.
