First off, im new to pv's. Just got my elektro 3 weeks ago(just found out its a renamed 808). Ive spent the last 4 days reading this thread and have been thinking to myself "dang i wish i had a 3 piece instead of cartomizers" then i found out that 901's will fit. ordered an atty and a set of carts, cant wait till they get here so i can try this mod. refilling cartomizers is a pain, and about half way through they start tasting bad so im always topping off, which is hard to do when im at work. Thanks for posting this mod, i know im going to be alot happier once i have a zfw of my own.

Hmmmm.........

I'll have to try your last suggestion as well I guess Scotty !! Never thought to try shortening the straw a tiny bit, and your thoughts on what might be happening could very well be the issue. At least I'm hoping so !!

I mention this because I have the same issue as the other person with massive flooding on mine, and I do notice my bridge in two styles of atomizers are both high yet one very thick and the other not so much.

Even after having the issue with the "H" cut, I tried the "O" cut (all sizes) and either starved the atty or again flooded it. I'd REALLY like this to work, but had given up thinking I was just too stupid for this to work for me and had wasted my money, and just went back to my blue foam plug mod.

I'll play around with your suggestion this weekend with hopes that its the simple fix I need for mine......... time will tell.

VapeOn,
Greg

yeah there is no QC on our attys there all over the place some fat bridges, some skinny, long, short, crooked you name it, would defiantly be "plug and play" if not for the fluctuation in atty styles.. really not a whole lot I can do other then suggest playing with the straw hight.. also make sure the bridge is centerd up you can push it one way or the other witha tooth pick.. hope that helps..

OK I have read about 30 some pages on this, and I am not sure if you have already said this or not, but what is the material you are using in the newest version of the ZFM mod? Or is that a trade secret of yours? I am thinking of making a few when I get home, and just wondering what materials have been used, and might come up with a few new novel ideas as well. Never know what I might run into with the toy boxes we have at the office.

OK, there was a whole lot of "TL;DR" in this thread...but for those who want either a small hole in the center or a hole with an "X" around it...has anyone considered a piercing needle for the initial hole? A 14ga needle will do about a 1mm hole, and oddly enough, they're really frakking sharp ;) Get thee to thy local flesh decorator!

WOW. Thank you, Scottyballs!

I had been meaning to get round to buying some blue foam, as my Tornado doesn't work well with standard cartridge filling. By chance, via a link from the Totally Wicked forum, I found this. I only read the first page of the thread, but my impromptu mod works a treat.

I didn't have the rights tools to hand, but I made one in about five minutes using a pair of kitchen scissors, tweezers and the middle bit of a Q-tip. I didn't have a thick straw, so used two lengths of Q-tip (2mm), one each side, to support the plug. I cut the cartridge cap with scissors without even marking it - jut cut off the thicker edges and trimmed til it fit, then stabbed a cross in the middle with the tweezers (that didn't work first time, got a burnt taste, so made the cuts a bit bigger - and hey presto!). No leaks, no floods, and a constant vape.

I was getting so few draws out of a cartridge (510 type) that it made life really difficult when about and about or driving. Problem solved, I think :)

A follow up to my previous issue/comment:

Ok, I've straightened/centered my bridges and cut the smallest "sliver" I could off the provided straw length and went back to the "H" cut.

BINGO !! We have a winner !!

Thanks Scotty...... I'm on my second fill without leaking/flooding issues anymore & am VERY happy.

VapeOn,
Greg

Scotty!!!!!!!!

I love you man! Just received my order. Fast delivery to Europe! You are a genious. I just popped one of your carts, unplugged it, juiced the cart up, plug went in...and BAMMMMM: WOW for the TH. No leaking...no flooding! This is the best purchase i have made for my Tornado!

You rock!

Thanks!

P.S. After seeing a youtube video i sacrificed one old cart, and cut the old cart...folded the plastic tabs in and there it was, a ledge for the plug to sit on. It works! No straw needed if you want to.
