Thanks for the review Slyice, and you are correct straw hight is very important. I try to cut my straws slightly on the long side for the carts that way the customer can cut if needed to work with there attys..

And then the attys thats one of the reasons I give 5 of each style plug, cause what works with Atty style Y might not work with Atty style X ... this way there are a few options...

BTW is anyone using the small holes? I'm thinking about doing away with them and offering maybe 10 H plugs and 5 Large holes... but if some of you are using the small ones and working good Ill leave it as is...

I am using the small hole with a Janty 501 atty the H-cut doesn't seem to get into the atty as well. I have not tried the big hole yet.

Hi, just received some of the new yellow H-cuts which work FANTASTIC, thank you. but i seem to be having some problems with them staying in place once i put them on top of the straw, the either one of the side ends on the round part of the plug sort of slowly slides up and over the carts edges, 510btw, kind of like it's slipping against the wall of the cart. Does anyone else have this problem or any suggestions? The only problem i can think of is the straw size or length. Does anyone know which straws seem to work the best? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everybody, I read the whole thread and i got some question before doing my first cart test.

Is it good to cut the plugs following the mark of the outside border of cart with the blade shifted inward 45 degree like someone suggested, instead of following inner border mark?

What's best distance between top of cart and top of plug surface with 510 v shaped atoms?(doing H cuts)

How do you vent the straw? How many cuts, how deep?

Many thanks,if I drown the atom I'll order those quickly :p

Trust me you got to order some of the H-cuts i just got mine yesterday and they are working perfectly now, i have the 510 reg. and mega attys, if you can make your own go ahead but i have tried and tried over and over but the problem is you cant make perfect replicas of the plug which causes them to be very inconsistent/leaky, I would highly recommend you order some from Scotty the plugs are cut perfectly just make sure you put the shiny side down when you seat it in the cart. As far as straw length goes it all depends on your atomizer bridge height as a reference i take a toothpick and place it on the very tip of the attys wick then make a mark on the toothpick right where the rim of the atty is, this way you know how far down the wick is and can place it next to your cart to see how far the wick goes into the cart, beware though some are higher some are lower but if you ordered your attys from the same company they should be consistent. I have found that you can actually change the height of the plug to suit your vapeing style, for example if you are a light vaper you can cut the straw shorter just enough so the wick slightly penetrates into the h-cut, i found this also prevents leakage but you cannot chain vape or you will burn you atty dry. If you are a vapor monster then have the wick at least 2mm into the plug using a longer straw, the downside is you may get leakage but if you do it just right you wont, I cut my straws so the plug is about 2-3 mm from the rim of the cart. You can cut vents anywhere on the straw as long as it still supports the plug. That's about all i can tell you right now hope it helps....

Thanks atomwiser! :) Awhile back I read this entire thread and tried making the plugs without success. I finally broke down and bought some (the crazy things I'll do to save $1.20! It's not worth the hours of frustration!) but I can't remember what I read and can't bear to go back and read it again!! Getting old really sucks!! LOL It's been either flooding or too dry and I realize now that I don't have vents cut in my straw plus I have it even with the top of the cart. I didn't have a straw the right size so I cut it down the side... will that work? Can you please explain the vents a little more? Thanks!! :)

Many thanks atomwiser,unvaluable tips!!! :)

I did some test and every size you cut the plug(out of a cake mold) it always leaks from the sides a bit when the cart is upsidedown.
I'll do last test with artistic silicon in tube wich is non toxic high degree resistance too.

With the money I'm spending I would have took carts from Scottie
But it take looong time to ship from Us to italy so I'll do more experiments first!

Thanks all guys for all the experiments so far!

Sorry guys Ive been working 12 hour shifts all week 7-7 then cutting your plugs when I get home have not had much time to address the questions..

Atomwiser thanks for helping them out those are indeed good tips and I do usually have my plug in dull side up.. and straw hight is critical...

Allie- I use the neon straws at walmart I'm not sure what size they are but there not as big as say a MC Donald's straw .. and yes lower that plug down a bit and you should be good to go..

Hi Scottyballs. I left a message on your site forum, but just in case you don't see it before this one, please make my order ALL H-cuts. Thank you so much. I'm so excited to put all this mod experimenting to rest and make your the final one !!! I just ordered now. Do you have whistle tip carts? If so may I would like those.

I love the H-cuts Scotty im still testing out the large holes that are thicker than the others i find that they may be usefull in some situations but I will let you know how they perform, the one thing i like about them is the thickness, is it possibble for you to find a different material that is less flimsy for the H-cuts maybe not as they seem to be working good but i wonder if u made the plugs thicker they might perform better .....?

Im still playing with sizes shapes, I probly wont stop till I have one plug that can do it all... I tried thicker plugs with H but it seemed to not open the doors up very well .. however I dont remember adjusting the straw hight for the thicker H plug either... Ill play with it some more this week.. Finally got a break from work Im off till next thursday!!! whooooot!:thumb:

Now that I think about it making the plug thicker could actually cause some leakage, as the doors may not hug and seal the liquid around the atomizers wick...
